~ROYAL HIGH~7:30 AM

Skyler came down from the public bus looking tired as usual because of stress from her job.

She entered the school gate and immediately she got the school’s attention, it was always like this from her so she was used to her glares.

👥Look who is here, the witch herself
👥She looks innocent but evil in her heart
👥 She’s really heartless

Those were the comments they said about her as she walked past them, they have always accused her of killing her family.

Calling her a witch countless times but she has refused to get affected by that.

As she walked to her class, she was stopped by a guy.

“Hey, Sky.” The guy greeted her and she smiled, it was her only friend in school.

“Tristan, let’s both walk to class together.” She said and they went to their class.

“Sky I have sad news for you .” He began and Skylar became curious and scared.

“What is it, Tristan?” She managed to ask.

“I will be leaving Royal High soon, my parents want me transferred to Reyes High.” He broke the news to her and she couldn’t contain the sadness that clouded her.

“I’m so sorry Sky, I know it’s only me you got in this school but it’s my parent’s decision.” He said.

“It’s no problem, do whatever your parents want,” Skyler said.

” Thanks for understanding.” He hugged her.

CHILL RESTAURANT 3:02 PM

Skyler’s mind wasn’t at ease as she walked to her place of work where she works as a waitress.

She was already two minutes late and don’t know what her boss might say.

She got there in obvious fear and was relieved to see she was not there yet.

~REYES RESIDENCE

Ryan was in his room smoking as usual as the smoke filled the room and blurred his sight.

A maid entered his room and she immediately started coughing due to the smoke.

“Master Ryan, dinner is served already, your mum said you should come down to eat with them.” She said looking down.

“Get out or you will find yourself on the hospital bed.” He said emotionlessly and she left immediately.

Back at the dining table downstairs, the maid went to give Mrs Reyes feedback.

“So Laila, is he coming?” She asked her

“I don’t think he’s coming.” She replied and Mrs Reyes sighed.

“Okay Laila, you can go.” She dismissed her.

“Darling, Ryan is getting so uncontrollable, we have to do something.” She touched her head in frustration.

“Maybe we should get him a personal maid and should be an old woman so she will be able to control him since we are always busy.” Mr. Reyes suggested.

” That’s a good suggestion, am going to put it online right away.”

CHILL RESTAURANT 10:00 PM

Skylar checked the time and knew it was time to go home, she packed all her things, changed into her normal dress and made sure nothing is left out.

“Everybody to my office now!” she heard the stern voice of her boss and she frowned.

“What again?” She muttered.

She went to the boss’s office, everybody have assembled already.

“$100 is missing from my drawer so whosoever is with it should provide it now!” She said authoritatively and they mumbled among themselves.

👥I didn’t take your money, ma’am,
👥 I’m innocent

“Silence! Everybody submit your bags.” Everybody did as she ordered without hesitation.

The boss began searching but no money was found until it got to Skyler’s turn.

“Skyler, what’s my $100 doing in your bag?” She brought out the money and everything gasped, Skyler’s eyes widened and in shock.

“Ma’am please believe me, I don’t know how it got there.”

“I will be a fool if I believe you, I should have suspected you since you are desperate for money.” She said and tears streamed down Skylar’s face.

“I didn’t know I employed a thief all this while,I should have called the cops but I won’t do that anyway you are fired.”. She said and Skylar’s tears became uncontrollable.

“Ma’am please, this is the only work I have to fend for myself.” She said amidst tears.

“You should have thought of that before stealing my money.” She said

👥Wow so I have been working with a thief
👥That serves her right, hate her guts
👥 She’s a witch and a thief, wow

She heard her colleagues say and she left sadly.

As she walked on the lonely road, she began to think about her life.

WHY IS MY LIFE THIS WAY? WHY IS MY LIFE FULL OF BAD LUCK? she thought.

Skyler arrived home, it was built by her parents before they died

As she moved closer, she saw that the gate has been padlocked and there was a signboard outside with the inscription, “SOLD OUT”

She saw a paper in the middle of the padlock and she took it reading its content.

Dear precious Niece, am so sorry about the loss of your house,I bought it this afternoon and I have the right to own it since it’s for my late brother and again your belongings are already outside, isn’t that nice? From your lovely Uncle Maverick

She tore the paper angrily and started a new round of tears.

“Mrs Maverick, I will make you pay for doing this to me, first you denied me and my brother access to my dad’s money and his company, because of lack of money my brother had to die of cancer and now this? I will make you pay for this. Just wait for me to get back on my feet, that’s my promise to you.”
