Chapter 3️⃣

Lee villa Seoul, Korea 10:30pm

Aurora climbed down the stairs majestically dressed in a very short red off-shoulder bodycom dress. Her face was dolled up like the latest version of barbie doll game series.

“Where do you think you’re heading to at this ungodly hour of the night? Let me not start talking of the way you’re dressed” Bryan who was in the living room with Mr Lee asked

“And how’s that your business?”aurora fired back angrily

“Come on aurora, it hasn’t come to yelling. He’s just concerned about how the public would see you. You’re almost naked in that dress”Mr Lee said

“Hey old man mind your own business, it’s my reputation not yours. By the way,stop butting into people’s affairs. At this age of yours,gossip is not advisable”

“Did you just call my dad a gossip?” Bryan asked angrily.

“Yes that’s what he is, an old annoying gossip”that seem to be the last straw that broke the camel’s back, Bryan raised his hands to slap her but his father held it

“Stop! Don’t ever hit a woman ok”Mr lee said to his son, giving him that ‘please calm down look’

“Aurora am not stopping you from leaving but please go in there and change your dress, your reputation and that of the family is on the line. People keep talking about aurora the wife of Bryan lee dressing slutty and flirting around with men. I try every single day to keep calm and behave like everything’s ok when am actually hurting… aurora please stop this your bitchy character if not for anything but for your own good” Bryan pleaded calmly.

“Well baby,am not as bitchy as your mum”she said

“What did you just say?”Mrs vera who was coming downstairs said, she actually heard the last part of aurora’s statement

“You heard me, you’re a b***h…a bigger one than i am” vera made to slap her but her hand hanged mid air, soon aurora started laughing

“Want to slap me? Oh go ahead”she brought her face closer daring vera to slap her.

 

“Slap me and watch your life crumble in front of your very own eyes”Mrs vera flinched at this statement

“I’ll my leave fools”aurora said and walked away.

Bryan fell into the sofa felling frustrated…if not for his daughter who kept pleading on aurora’s behalf,he would have filed for a divorce a long time ago

“It’s all your fault mother,if you hadn’t forced me to get married to her all this wouldn’t have been happening to me. The company’s losing badly all thanks to her bitchy character. She doesn’t respect anyone not even me, she hates our own daughter and treat the poor child like bad news…

You see I’ve had enough of this, the day i catch her red handed with a man, I’m ending this marriage” Bryan said and rushed upstairs

Flashback, 8 years ago (a slum in Busan)

Lyka rushed in happily with her backpack on her right shoulder, she just saw her result from the scholarship exams she took and luckily, she’s one of the lucky kids to get the scholarship. Now she’ll be going to one of the biggest high school in Busan…

“Mom…”she called happily but no one was in

“She wasn’t at her kiosk too… where is she?”lyka wondered as she dropped her backpack in a corner.

Their house is a very small one room apartment with just a worn out bed and torn blankets were used in dressing the bed where she and her mom sleeps. Well her dad died the day she was born so she only has her mom.

 

She came outside to wait for her mom, hoping to break the good news to her when she comes.

*Three hours later*

A woman who lives in their neighborhood rushed to lyka.

“Ma Polina what’s wrong? Why are you running?”lyka asked.

“Your mom …”Polina said making lyka’s heart skip beats

“Yes, where is she?”lyka asked impatiently

“She got hit by a car and she’s presently in ju-sung…”lyka didn’t allow the lady land before taking off. She ran all the way to Ju-sung hospital.

“My mom! Please where is my mom?”she asked the first nurse she met at the counter

“Are you the daughter of Mrs lila Choi?”the nurse asked and lyka nodded

“Oh ok… she’s in ward 12” the nurse said and lyka rushed into the hallway in search of the ward

“Poor child…” The nurse at the counter muttered as lyka ran off

She located the ward and entered. The doctor was in with 2 other nurses

“Doctor how is she?”lyka asked.

“You’re…?”

“Her only daughter” lyka answered

“Well am so sorry young girl,we lost her”the doctor said

“What?!”that was the last thing she said before blacking out…

 

End of flashback

Florida, America 8:00am

 

Ligaya opened her eyes slowly, she smiled at what she saw. Her -up artist/manager is really doing great

“Wow! You did well Mimi,” she smiled.

“Thanks ma” Mimi blushed.

“The conference meeting is in 30 minutes ma’am ” Mimi informed and ligaya got up. She took her purse and started heading out with Mimi and 2 guards following behind.

“After the conference what next on my schedule?”

“A dinner with sir Liam …” This made ligaya halt their movement

 

“Dinner with that toad…”she asked no one in particular… the nickname she gave sir Liam made Mimi giggle.

“Yes to discuss about the upcoming endorsement deal” Mimi said after sobering up

“Ok… let’s see how it goes,” she entered her car and the driver hit the road immediately.

Ligaya walked into the restaurant tiredly, the conference meeting took good 3 hours.

“Ma’am this way”a waitress led her to the VIP section where Liam was

“Hey…” Liam said cheerfully

“Hi… hope i didn’t keep you waiting here for long?”she asked

“No not at all sweetie”he smiled and winked, she ignored him and moved on to the signing of the documents he gave her. After signing, she gave the documents back to him

“Ok… bye”she was about to leave but Liam held her wrist

“Come on… let’s talk, you didn’t even order for anything”Liam said

“I forgot plus am busy”she made to go again but he held her again

“Please…”he pleaded with cute puppy eyes, she let out a frustrated sigh and called a waitress, she placed her order and it arrived in a jiffy

“So what do you want to talk about?”she asked

“You…”he smiled

“Me?”

“Yes… you look cuter today”he said

“Stop flirting with me…”ligaya warned making him smiled,he finds her angry side cute.

“You ever even look cuter when angry”

“Well i won’t rejected the compliment but…”she paused and looks at the wine glass in her hand

“I will smash this on your head if you keep flirting with me!”she said dangerously making Liam’s heart pound in fear, she really looks serious about it.

“Ha! Ha! Ha! It’s nice seeing you get scared” ligaya kept laughing louder and louder, soon all eyes were on them

“Come on you’re embarrassing me you know?”Liam said pleading ligaya with his eyes

“Just my little appreciation for asking me to drink with you… it’s a pleasure” she whispered and continued laughing.

“Oh no … ligaya…”he placed his head on the table,if embarrassment was a human being then it’s surely him. He’s so so embarrassed right now

‘Didn’t knew she was this frustrating’ he thought quietly as he kept hitting his head on the table gently, ligaya won’t stop tormenting him.
