El Antiguo Guerrero, chapter 51

Quarterfinal

Theme: Kneel before your God, Part 2.

An unknown voice said, “Kneel before your god,” which attracted the attention of everybody.

Menotius stood still, his breath heavy, wondering where the voice was coming from. He knew he was the only god here, and Rey, on the other hand, had been destroyed by him.

“I said, kneel before your god.” The strange voice yells again, but this time it is a voice carrying great authority. A strong ambiance glistens throughout the entire cliff, which makes everybody go down on their knees. Then a portal opens, and three beings emerge from it which makes a loud gasp escape from the mouth of Menoetius, including the rest of his armies.

“Olympian god of war,” Iris whispers beside Mark.

Emerging out of the portal is Ares, the god of war and the most unpopular of all the gods because of his quick anger, belligerence, and an inextinguishable thirst for conflict. He has long red hair, brown eyes, light tan skin, and a strong muscular build. He had a spear and a shield in his hand, with armour that covered his body but revealed his abdomen and a helmet.

At his right hand stood Hade, who was holding a two-pronged implement resembling a pitchfork, while Athena was standing at his left side.

“What did you know about Hade and Athena?” Iris whispers to Mark.

“I don’t know much about him,” Mark retorted. “But he was depicted as a harsh and ruthless being. He was never moved by prayer or sacrifice.

“And Athena?” Iris said.

“Athena is the Olympian goddess of wisdom, war, and the cherished patrolness of the city of Athens in Greece.”

“We are the gods here,” Athena said, her voice carrying authority and roaring throughout the cliff. She was a tall, slim woman with blue-green eyes and a golden ambiance. She was wearing silver armour and a gold helmet. On her neck is an aegis, a goatskin shield that has a fringe of snakes.

“I am the god here on earth. You can go back to your realms.” Menotius seethed in rage. He was now standing on his feet. “I have slaughtered different beings that are more powerful than you, including the one that is rumoured to be wielding all the power of the gods.”

“He is immortal,” Ares countered. “What you have been fighting since is an illusion.”

“What did you mean?” Menotius asked, surprised.

“I mean, the son of Heracles is somewhere around the cliff, watching everything going on.” Hades elaborated.

“How can you prove your word?” Menotius asked, still finding it hard to believe what he was hearing.

“His presence here alters the timeline line, which makes the Elysian come after him. With the help of the undead sword, the Elysian was able to track him. However, Void and Chaos, the son of Erebus, give him the trick he was using.” Athena analyzed.

“So, you mean the being I’ve been fighting since is just an illusion? “

“Not only him, but the rest of his team,” Ares explained.

“So, what are you proposing?” Menotius asked.

“That we should join forces together, fish him out, and finish the battle once and for all,” Hades explained.

“And what is the price? What are my benefits?” Menotius asked again.

“You will become a servant to us and you will be granted the power of immortality.” Ares elucidated

“Hold your gift; I will find and destroy him by myself.” Menotius yelled at them.

“Not when we slaughter your armies first before we come for your head.” Ares spat in rage while his anger started surfacing.

“What did you think they were discussing?” Iris asked Mark.

“I don’t know, but it seems the deal isn’t going well.” He answered with a melancholy tone.

However, a scream from the knight disrupted their conversation. He looked in the direction, trying to figure out what was happening. However, everything was happening in a blur. From the top of the cliff, where he and the remaining soldiers were standing, he was able to get a perfect view of what was going on, even though it seemed to be happening in a flash.

Within the blink of an eye, the entire army of Menoetius was sprawled on the ground, blood dripping from their necks. Ares and Athena appeared back beside Hades with blood dripping from their weapons.

Didn’t I warn you? Ares snarls at Menoetius.

Before the man could make a move, Hade slashed at him, and his head came tumbling down while blood spilled on his face.

“We know you are somewhere around the cliff, Rey,” Hades screamed out while licking the blood that had split on his face. “Come out now, and we won’t have to slaughter your men.”

Mark and the soldiers of the medieval kingdom opened their mouths in shock as they heard the voice of Hades. That is when the realization dawns on them. The dust particles from where Menotius and Rey had clashed were clear, but they couldn’t find his body. He looked around, trying to find the rest of his team, but he couldn’t spot any of them.

“You have ten seconds left, or else they will become dead meat and their blood will be on your head,” Hades warned again. Besides him, Ares and Athena had made a battle stance, their eyes wandering around for any sign of Rey.

“You aren’t one of us, and you don’t deserve the blood and power of the gods you are wielding,” Athena said. “Come out, and we won’t have to shed much blood.” Still, their voices were met with the chirping of birds and the blowing of climate.

“That means you leave us no choice,” Hades said. “Slaughter his men, and bring me his brother’s head.”

Not wasting another second, Athena and Ares lunged at Mark and the rest of the soldiers that were on top of the cliff. They were running like wild bulls trying to escape from the hand of a cheetah. Their weapons glistened in the sun, and their eyes held determination.

“Archer,” Mark screamed at his men. The men didn’t hesitate as they started shooting arrows at the two beings. However, they dodge it expertly. Even though the men of medieval times were expert shooters, their skills didn’t match those of the two beings. With a great battle cry, they leapt high, their sharp weapons aiming straight for the heart of the archer. As they waited for their sword to strike home, they collided with an invisible shield, which burnt their skin and threw them several feet backward.

The people of the medieval kingdom stood speechless, unable to believe what had just happened. A few seconds ago, the god and goddess were about to ki*ll them. But now, they were met with an invisible shield which threw them back, all the way to the ground of the cliff.

“It’s good to be back home,” Mark heard his brother’s voice behind him. His heart swelled with joy, and he pulled Rey into a deep hug.

“I thought he had killed you,” Mark said, with tears in his eyes. “I couldn’t imagine winning this battle without you.”

“I had to do it so the Elysian could lose track of me,” Rey explains. “Now lead the people back to the house. My team will follow you.”

“What about them?” Coven asked beside Rey.

“They came for me. So, this is my battle to fight. Just get ready because we are heading back home as soon as I return.” Rey explained, and the men nodded their heads in understanding.

Slowly, Rey descends the cliff. His face is shining brightly like the evening sun, and his expression is like that of a hungry lion. He folded his fist, let out a battle cry, and charged at the three gods. Now Rey was determined to end this battle once and for all. The memory of everything old man Grey told him came flashing back in his head. How his parents suffered and the burden they went through at the hand of the god

Even though the beings he was about to fight were wielding weapons, Rey knew he didn’t need them. He wished he could tap into the power of the gem and slay them all at once, but that would only alert the Elysian of his present again. He also didn’t have the Inchor coursing through his veins.

Still, he didn’t need that. He knew he was a deity. He isn’t an ordinary god, but he was wielding all the power of the gods. That means these beings were like ants to him. It also means their power is nothing compared to his own.

Rey closed his eyes and searched deep down for his power. He remembers all the training he had been through in the angel room, all his hard training on the field, and the sleepless nights he had had just to master the seventeen invisible lethal moves. Now Rey was ready to use it. He was about to make the gods pay for their sin. He was ready to make them beg on their knees for mercy.

He took in a deep breath, and he could feel the power rising from the depths of his stomach. Then, like a surging tornado, the power courses through his entire veins. “The seventeen invisible lethal moves,” Rey screamed. Thunder clapped in the sky, and lightning glinted across the whole Cliff. Rey’s eyes become white, his body burns with white flame, and his aura suppresses the whole area.

Everywhere became red, while blood was pouring from the sky like rainfall. Cries of unseen spirit and ghost could be heard all around the place. Rey stride closer to the three beings, and he watch as the blood rain eae burning their body. Blood was now dripping in his eyes, and his body was blazing with fire.

“Kneel before me, your god.” He barked at the incoming beings. Without thinking twice, Hades and his team went to their knees involuntarily, with blood dripping out of their noses and mouths altogether. The blood rain is burning their sky badly and their skin is now becoming white like someone with leprosy.
