CHAPTER 11
Kade was switching off his light in the living room when he heard a knock on the door. He wondered who it could be since it was already past bedtime. He was shocked when he opened the door and met Aysh standing there. “What are you doing here?” He asked surprised.
“Can i come in?” She asked and he let her in. He was more shocked when he saw her dragging a travelling bag behind her. He locked the door and switched on the light again.
“Are we going on a business trip?” He asked still surprised.
“No. I just needed sometime to clear my mind” Aysh said sitting on a couch. She had expected Kade’s house to be small and untidy but she was surprised by the way the house was well furnished and very lovely.
“Clear your head?” He said bringing her out of her thoughts. “If you need to clear your head then go to a beach house or an hotel not here”
“Beach house is a long journey and if a go to an hotel and words gets out to the press you know quite well that would be a scandal and our company stock price might fall”
“And do i look like i care?” Kade scoffed.
“I’m your boss Kade” She said with an hint of command.
“Boss? Not in this situation,you’re invading my privacy” Kade said.
“Can i just stay for the night?” She finally pleaded.
He just held his head in frustration. He was tired of her after the kisses they shared he had promised himself there would be no other form of intimacy between them but here she was planning to spend the night. He only got to know her ’cause of her company and he was already falling for her. “Okay,but i have my rules”
“I’m ready to abide” Aysh said.
“Okay,1:Don’t touch me. 2:You stay where i allow you stay. 3:Don’t enter my kitchen. 4:Don’t go near my bar. 5:Don’t use my bathroom 6:Don’t go through my wardrobe. 7:Don’t go through my drawer. 8:Don’t touch a thing in my house till you leave. 9:___” He was cut short by her.
“Those rules are too much and they are almost the same” Aysh said.
“This is my house and you will abide by my rules and moreover you said you’re going to abide by it” Kade said strictly.
“I did?..I think i did”
“I will bring up more rules before you leave tomorrow”
“Tomorrow?”
“Yes,you said you wanted to pass the night isn’t it?”
“Yea,i said that” She answered silently.
He was about to stand up when he noticed one of her cheek was red with fingers mark,he turned her face to take a better view. “What happened to your face?” He asked.
“Nothing” She said pushing his hand away.
“Tell me,did Gage hit you?” He asked again.
“Gage didn’t my dad did,don’t ask me why”
“Of course,i won’t ask you just sit here let me get you some ice cubes” He said as he stood up and went to the kitchen. He came back,sat beside her and started placing the ice cubes on her face gently. “I can do that myself” Aysh said trying to collect the ice cubes from him.
“Let me do it” He said as he pushed her hair away from her face. “I was meant to be there to protect you,i’m such a dump P.A i guess” He said as he continued patting her cheek with the ice.
“It wasn’t your fault and moreover it was a personal issue” Aysh sais as she turned to face him.
She was so beautiful. Kade thought. He didn’t know how to lay his hand off her all through the night. It would just be torture. He noticed that she had closed her eyes and was bringing her mouth near his. She wanted to kiss him but he couldn’t allow her unless what he would do next he will end up regretting it. “Rule 9: No kissing” He said,his voice bringing her back to her senses. “This rule is for the both of us” He completed.
“Okay” Aysh said drawing back.
“There’s only a good room in this house which is my room so i guess you’re stuck with me” Kade said standing up and moving to his room while Aysh trailed behind him.
They both stood in front of his big bed not knowing what next to do. Kade suddenly cleared his throat. “You will take the couch” He said facing her.
“Me?” She asked pointing her finger to her chest.
“Apart from me you’re the only person in this room so yes”
“I can’t sleep on a couch”
“Why?”
“Cause I’ve never slept on one”
“Then you learn” Kade said moving over to the side of the bed and pulling it covers.
“I’m going to sleep on the bed with you” Aysh said moving to the other side of the bed.
“You dare not”
“Hey,do you realize i’m your boss,you dare not not to me anyhow you like”
“You’re in my house girl and you will behave” Kade said lying down and turning to face the ceiling.
“Sorry” She said as she started pulling the covers.
“I didn’t say you can sleep on the bed” Kade said.
“Please,i’m going to abide by rule number 1. I promise,i won’t come near” She pleaded.
“Okay,just keep your promise” Kade said already dozing off. She jumped into the bedcover and switched the light off. Then she closed her eyes but felt Kade switching the light on again.
“I don’t sleep with the light off” He said.
“I don’t sleep with the light on” She said as she turned off the light again.
He turned it off again. She switched it on back.
“Aysh,i’m afraid you will have to pass your night in the living room” Kade said sitting up on the bed.
“But__”
“No buts Aysh,this is my house,my room and you will do whatever you’re asked to” It was so obvious he was annoyed,she saw it in his eyes.
“I will just sleep with the light on” She said nudging herself deeply into the duvet. Kade turned on the light as they both slept off almost immediately.

Kade woke up in the middle of the night as he felt Aysh head on his chest and her arms were wrapped around his waist. He wondered how she got so close without him knowing,he tried to push her away but she wouldn’t budge instead she nudged nearer to him.

“I guess i’m honouring you too much by answering your calls” He said as he sat down opposite her in the restaurant.
“My husband,” she started. “I think he wishes to see you. I will ask you a polite favour,don’t go to him” She concluded.
“I was not planning to see him ’cause i hate him with my life” He said.
She was really happy to hear that he hates his father. That was what she wanted to hear. “Do you mean you’re not interested in the company?” She asked.
“I don’t like it the way you continue to ask me questions about the company,if it’s end up being mine your child won’t be able to compete with me,i’m the best in what i do” He said.
“My child has been doing well in the family business so i will also like to tell you that you won’t be able to compete with my child,so if your father calls you and plans to hand over the company to you,turn it down. You are not even family,you’re just an illegitimate son of a betrayal” she said as she stood up with annoyance and took the exit of the restaurant.
He was so annoyed with her words. He didn’t know how his mother met his father but he couldn’t take it from his father’s wife to call his late mother a betrayal.

Hmmmm. This unknowns self. If only Ayesha knows what Kade is planning for her. 🙄.
