CHAPTER 6

• Ayesha was going through some files in her office when her intercom buzzed. “Kade Bauer is here” Martha, her receptionist announced.
  “Send him in”
  Just then a man in his mid twenties walked into the room,walking towards Aysh. She just checked him out and couldn’t deny he was a very handsome man.
  “Good morning ma’am. I’m Kade Bauer and i applied for a job as a personal assistant here” Kade explained.
  “I didn’t ask you” Aysh asked giving him one of her devilish smiles.
  Kade also couldn’t concentrate because of the beauty before him,he had always known she was beautiful on television but always thought they were just filters but now he knew she was even more beautiful in true life than televisions.
  “Pardon?” He said shooting out of his reverie of thoughts.
  “What are you here for?” Aysh asked acting as if she didn’t know the reason he was there.
  “I am here for an interview” He replied.
  “So seat and let me do that” Aysh said while Kade(Kabir) took his seat.
  “I know you’re Kade Bauer and my interview is gonna be easy for you,so the big question is do you love dogs?” She asked.
  Kade knew he didn’t love dogs but he doesn’t hate them either. “I love dogs” he replied without thinking twice.
  Then Aysh took the telephone on her desk and placed a call across to her receptionist. “Send Pluto in” She said.
  ‘Oh no not now’ Kade thought to himself.
  Pluto walked into the office wagging it’s tail as it moved towards Aysh and sat on her laps. “Meet Pluto my dog and more like my best friend. Since you’re my P.A you’re also his.” Aysh said to Kade’s atonishment. “So i need you to get me coffee kade,less sugar more milk,put all your effort in making it” She said to Kade again as he moved away from his seat to the coffee maker at the end of the office.
  Less sugar,more milk. He had to make it well cause right now DAL’S COOPERATION depends how the coffee is made.
  After preparing the coffee he handed it to her and it took like forever before she finally took it to her lips. Her lips. He just noticed how pink it was and how kissable it looks. What was he thinking,she is his boss now and he couldn’t try to kiss her to avoid being fired and he kept reminding himself she was not his type of woman. Truthfully he didn’t even know his type of woman ’cause all his past relationships has always been a sham.
  “Kade,you made the coffee just the way i love it” Aysh voice brought him out of his thoughts. “I guess you’re the lucky winner of being my P.A”
  “I’m glad you love it and i’m going to put my best in this job” He had to put his best.
  “Congratulations on your appointment” Aysh said stretching her hand for a shake.
  “Thank you so much ma’am you don’t know how much i really wanted this job”
  “So,” Aysh said releasing her hands from his “as a P.A you know what to do right?”
  “Not all miss but i’m going to try my best”
  “Well,i’m going to fill you in as well as my receptionist who took your job for a while. Just save your number here” She said stretching her phone to him. He saved his number and returned her phone to her.
  “So pluto meet Kade my new assistance,no more Josh that doesn’t like you” Aysh said to Pluto in a sing song manner.
  After sometime Kade and Aysh got to know each other better. Kade made Aysh belief he was an orphan and his life depended on the job. Well he couldn’t belief Aysh would easily buy his lie he had always thought she was a strong woman but he knew deep down she wasn’t as strong as he thought. He also found her extremely beautiful and he didn’t know how to cope being her P.A and not getting to touch her.
  Pluto was a very friendly animal and really liked Kade a lot while Kade was just getting to like it.
  After work,he drove Aysh and Pluto to their mansion and also got to know her parents. Ford was extremely happy his daughter finally got a P.A even Betty liked the handsome man that was her daughter’s P.A. Kade was very happy he was welcomed into AYSH GROUP without any suspicions. As he was coming out of their mansion gate after getting to meet the family his phone rang. “Yes,Mr Moon” He said into the phone after picking up. “How are you?”
  “Very fine sir” Mr Moon replied from the other end of the line.
  “How did it go? Do you finally succeed in persuading him?”
  “Yes,i made him understand it is only for a short period of time and it make it easier for you to get to the company so he agreed even if Mrs chairman didn’t go down well with it” Mr Moon explained.
  “Mum is just worried that i’m not going to be home with her,anyways thank you so much Mr Moon”
  “Don’t mention,i’m just doing my job. So where are you let me pick you up to your new apartment”
  “Front of the Sherman’s mansion”
  “Okay. I will be there.”

  Aysh was in her room going through her social media when Jasper walked in.
  “Don’t you know how to knock?” She questioned rudely.
  “I’m sorry miss but your father wishes to see you” The elderly man replied.
  “Where is he?”
  “His study”
  “I will be there so just leave okay?” She said as she stood up from the bed. she slipped her feet into a black flip flop as she made her way to her father’s study. She met her mother with three of her friends in the living room before she got to her father’s study. They were gisting and laughing as she passed. She walked into her father’s study and met him sitting patiently on the couch. She took her seat across her father and waited patiently for him to start his speech.
  “Anderson called me today….” Ford started”….Aysh i don’t want you to take it the wrong way but….you’re getting married. To Gage” Ford concluded.
  Aysh knew Anderson Gabriel as her father’s long time friend and a very powerful and dangerous politician. He and her father had hooked up again when he wanted to run for the country mayor which made him more popular. And she had also met his son Gage once but the meeting wasn’t a pleasant one. Gage was also as dangerous as his father.
  “What are you talking about dad? You didn’t even ask me” Aysh said a bit taken aback.
  “They called and asked for your hand in marriage and i accepted,you know Gabriel is my friend and this is the first time he’s asking me for a favour though i’ve asked for a lot in the past”
  “Without even my opinion?”
  “Ayesha,Gabriel is more powerful than i and his son is asking to marry you i had to. And this marriage is also going to favor us”
  “I don’t love him. I don’t even know him”
  “You guys have met once.”
  “You know how much i wanted to rip his tongue out that day dad, you can’t possibly call that meeting. What i’m talking about is love. True love”
  “Aysh i want you to forget about love. I and Betty didn’t marry for love and we’re doing okay” Ford said.
  “You call this sham of a marriage okay? A marriage you and her fight almost everyday without even noticing how your child is fairing,you call it okay?” Aysh scoffed.
  “Aysh,you need to understand me. this marriage is going to make AYSH GROUP more powerful and well connected.”
  “I don’t care!!! I don’t love him!!”
  “Aysh i want you to think about it very well but i also want you to understand that i already consented to this marriage and there’s no going back”
  “But dad this is my life. And don’t forget marriage is a life time commitment. This is a marriage of convenience dad” Aysh said in annoyance.
  “You’re going to marry Gage,Aysh” Ford said with a tone of finality.
  Aysh was very mad at her dad. So her father loves the company more than her? She couldn’t bring herself to belief what he was saying to her. Gage Anderson,that bas***d.
  She stood up and stomped out of her father’s study,as she opened the door she bumped into her mother. “Mum!!” She exclaimed. “What are you doing here?”
  Her mother didn’t respond but just dragged her to a chair nearby. “You have to marry Gage,Aysh” Her mother said.
  “Mum!!! Even you?!!”
  “What about me?”
  “I can’t believe this. You both are unbelievable. You’re supposed to support me mum not against me”
  “I am supporting you my darling. You have to get married to an handsome,rich and powerful man and Gage as all this qualities. And you’re twenty three and i’ve never seen you with a man. Just think of yourself as a powerful woman Aysh,you will be treated like a queen just like Emily”
  “You’re joking right?” Aysh said standing up.
  “No,i’m being serious dear”
  “I’m never going to marry that guy” Aysh said walking out on her mother.
