CHAPTER 28

 

Adsh woke up the next day in Khaleed’s bed. She was surprised when she met herself in his room,she remembered sleeping on the couch. Khaleed must have brought her here. She stood up lazily from the bed and made it. She walked over to her room and met Kabir getting ready to head to the bathroom. “Good morning” She greeted.

 

“Good morning” He answered trying his best not to meet her gaze.

 

“I think you should be careful next time,you passed out really hard yesterday and there were glass wounds on your knuckles” She said pointing to his knuckles. “I think you were upset about something”

 

“Thanks for yesterday,i don’t want to be a burden to you so i will leave after I’ve freshened up” Kabir said.

 

“The clothes you wore here yesterday was stained with blood so i will get one of Khaleed’s cloth for you and before you leave i will like to see to your wound”

 

“Never mind. I can always go to the hospital or or do something else with the wound instead of disturbing you especially in your state” He said refering to her pregnancy which was obvious under her night dress.

 

“I insist,you’re my fiance’s brother and i also have to take care of you”

 

“Okay,if you insist” Kabir said heading to the bathroom when Adsh voice stopped him.

 

“Kabir” She called and he turned back to look at her. “If there’s anything bothering you and you need to let out,i’m here for you. You can tell me anything” She said. He just smiled at her and entered the bathroom.

 

Why did i say that? Adsh asked herself when she was heading to Khaleed’s room to get a cloth for Kabir.

 

She didn’t know why she pitied him. She had to pity him afterall he’s the father of her baby,she thought as she used her hand to rub her tummy. She picked the clothes and dropped it on her bed while Kabir was still in the bathroom,then she went back downstairs to start the cleaning of the house with the maids.

 

Kabir came out of the bathroom and met the cloth laid down on the bed for him,he dressed up and started down the stairs. He got to the living room and met Adsh and Anoushka talking.

 

He went nearer to them,that was when Adsh noticed him. “You are here. Please sit and let Noushka get the first aid box” Adsh said to Kabir while Noushka went to get the first aid box. Noushka came back with the box and Adsh treated his wound and wrapped it up then Kabir stood up to leave while she followed.

 

“Thanks for everything you’ve done for me,i really appreciate it” Kabir said.

 

“You don’t need to appreciate and like i said you’re Khaleed’s brother and anything i can do for Khaleed i can also do for you” Adsh said.

 

“And i want you to get along with Khaleed,he’s really nice of you get to know him better” She concluded.

 

“I will try” he said smiling at her.

 

“So i told one of the male workers here to get your car from the company’s parking lot,and here is the key” She said giving him the keys.

 

“Thanks” he said taking the key from her and headed for his car. As he was about to open his car,his phone rang and the caller ID showed it’s Mr Moon. “Yes?” He said into the phone after picking up.

 

“I found Ayesha Sherman” Mr Moon said.

 

“You what?” Kabir said stopping abruptly.

 

“I found Aysh” Mr Moon repeated.

 

“Tell me where you’re let me meet you there so we can talk better” Kabir said entering the car and zooming off.

Khaleed was walking to the lab to check on how far they’ve gone with the DNA result when his phone rang. It was Javier.

 

“Hello” Javier said at the other end of the line.

 

“Javier,how can i help you?” Khaleed asked.

 

“Actually Khaleed,your father wants you to move to the house with your fiancee,you wants you to learn more about how to handle the company so he needs you near him to tutor you” Javier explained.

 

“Move to the house?” Khaleed asked.

 

“Yes”

 

“I can’t. I just can’t. I also have my house and my work to take care of,i just can’t move behind those walls with my fiancee for goodness sake”

 

“That’s what your father wants and it’s the best for the company,you just have to come Khaleed”

 

Khaleed sighed,he was tired of everything. He loved his job and couldn’t afford to loose it for the company he knows nothing about and to even leave his house,that’s what he doesn’t want. He was starting to think otherwise about the whole thing.

 

“Okay,we will be there tonight” He said sighing.

 

“I will tell your father this immediately,he will be so happy” Javier said hanging up.

 

Khaleed was feeling like an intruder in the whole thing,he had looked at Kabir this morning and pitied him,he was helpless. He felt as if he had taken what was Kabir’s. He didn’t know why he was acting selfish. He had a house and a good paying job. He was rich.

 

He started towards the laboratory as he took his phone and called Anoushka. He told her to inform Adsh they were to start living in the Dalvetti’s mansion. He also told her to get his luggages and Adsh things ready ’cause they are moving to the Dalvetti’s tonight.

Kabir drove into the office parking lot with full speed. He parked his car in one of the empty spaces and came down. He went over to Mr Moon’s car and entered the passenger side.

 

“Now tell me where she is” Kabir said to him immediately he got into the car.

 

“Sir,she’s very near and we didn’t know” Mr Moon said.

 

“What do you mean?”

 

“Adsh Scanlon is Ayesha Sherman” Mr Moon blurted out.

 

“What do you mean by that? How is that even possible?” Kabir asked confused.

 

“Actually,i carried out the investigations as you asked me to. When i and the private inveatigator went to the accident scene,the woman who owns a store nearby told us that she had been saved by some guy when the car exploded so we went to all the nearby hospitals to check on any burnt victim on that same day and we found. They explained she was brought in with half of her body burnt and she had a plastic surgery which made her who she is now. And the guy who saved her was your half brother-Khaleed” Mr Moon explained.

 

“How could she….?” Kabir said puzzled and suprised at the whole thing. “Did she have a memory loss also?”

 

“No but i found out she was pregnant when she was brought in and that was what delayed her from waking up from comma”

 

“So…,that means i’m responsible for the pregnancy?” He asked no one is particular.

 

“Absolutely” Mr Moon whispered.

 

“But how could she do that? Why does she have to impose my child on another person? And on my brother for goodness sake. And she acts as if she has forgotten about me completely. What of her parents? Why didn’t she go back to them?”

 

“She tried but was rejected,they didn’t believe it was her ’cause of the surgery”

 

He rested his back on the seat. He now knew why anytime he was with Adsh he always use to think she was Aysh. He now knew why their smiles look so alike,why their voices were the same. She was Ayesha and had concealed her identity from him and every other person.

 

He didn’t know why he felt betrayed by her and he had betrayed her once. He he was carrying his baby saying it was his brother’s giving him more priviledge to the company than him. He was deep in his thoughts when he heard Mr Moon’s voice.

 

“Yes. What did you just say?” He asked.

 

“I said Javier just called me and informed me Khaleed and Adsh are moving to the house”

 

“To the house? When? Why?”

 

“Tonight. Because chairman wants to tutor him on being the new chairman” Mr Moon explained. “He said you should be there to welcome them”

 

Kabir sighed. Khaleed has taken away all that was his. First his father then the company and now Ayesha. And again coming to live under the same roof with him and the girl he loves so much. He couldn’t take it anymore. He was the one responsible for the pregnancy and no one would take his place in his child’s life,no one especially his half brother that was trying to take responsibilities.

 

He was going to welcome them and start taking back what was his,the person he loves,his child and the company.

 

He left Mr Moon’s car and went to his car. He drove to his house and everything was set and as usual his mother was not there. She now stays in her room every time without talking to anyone except her son. She even now stays in a different room from her husband.

 

He headed for his mother’s room to check on her well being since Khaleed and Adsh weren’t there yet,he met his mother sitting infront of her mirror and was looking pale. She was looking white,no make up and cracked lips,her hair was loosed around her shoulder and she was looking into the mirror. “Hi ,mum” He said as he sat down on the dresser in front of his mother.

 

“So they will now take over my home? Mason told them to move here without my consent and you couldn’t do anything either? When did you become like this Kabir?” Dora said finally looking up at her son.

 

“Dinner by eight” Kabir said ignoring his mother questions.

 

“So now you also ignore me? Everyone in this house does and you also want to join them in doing that?” Dora asked her son continuously.

 

“Mum,you need to understand me,just hang in here for a while and i’m going to make everything come back to the way it was” Kabir said holding his mother’s by her shoulder. “So are you going to come for dinner tonight? I don’t like you this way,let’s show dad how strong you are”

 

“I’ll try” Dora whispered.

 

“I trust you and please put on your best smile” He said as he left the room to his room for a nap.

 

He woke up by seven,freshened up and left his room. As he was coming down the stairs he saw luggages being brought in. He knew at once they had come. He went to the living room and saw Khaleed and Mason exchanging pleasantries while Adsh just stood aside watching the both of them smiling.

 

Kabir watched her,he saw the way she smiled,she was indeed Ayesha. His Ayesha. He glanced at her again and smiled to himself. Their eyes met and her smiled broadened as they looked at each other.

 

“Come here,Kabir” Mason said smiling at him. He walked over to them and smiled at Khaleed.

 

“Hi,bro” Khaleed greeted.

 

“Hi” Adsh also greeted smiling.

 

“Nice having you here” Kabir said to Adsh ignoring his brother.

 

“So would you two share a room or you prefer different rooms?” Mason asked.

 

“I think a different room will be better” Adsh said before Khaleed could talk.

 

“Okay.Javier will lead you to your rooms so freshen up and come down for dinner” Mason said as Khaleed and Javier followed Javier up the stairs to their rooms.

 

They all freshened up and had dinner in silence. Dora was present and all went well. Mason only broke the silence when he told Khaleed to meet with him in his study after dinner ’cause he was going to resume as the chairman the next day. After dinner Khaleed followed Mason to his study while the rest retired to bed.

 

Kabir watched Adsh enter her room,she was near him now and he was going to look after the person he loves and his unborn baby.
