MY HEART DESIRE – Episode 5

Governor Tunde smiled shamelessly as he hung up after speaking with his right hand man. He took his keys and headed out to clear his head.

She sighed and yawned tiredly as she sat on her comfortable sofa. She stared into space as wild thoughts raced through her mind. Sarah had been this humble and soft spoken lady who had no worries whatsoever in life. She had fallen in love once but the hungry hands of death robbed her of her happiness.  She had now again fallen in love or so she thought, she loved Dan with all her heart, the only problem was that Dan always viewed and respected her as her mother and therefore could not reciprocate the love. The age difference between them was another problem but she always said that age was just a number, love knew no bounds and it could cover them.

Tears rolled down her soft cheeks ruining her well applied makeup as she flashed on how she was humiliated and rejected.

45 minutes ago.

Sarah walked majestically and confidently to Dan’s porch without knocking and nearly bumped into him. He was dressed to go out and she squinted at his face unhappily. Her blood boiled inside her as she engaged her mind on what had brought her at his place this morning.

“You going out?” “Yeah, am going to see someone,” Dan said not really sure where this conversation was going. Sarah felt slight panic wash over her and she knew that if she did not speak out her mind she could be too late. “Whatsup mum?” Dan frowned when he felt she was not ready to talk. “That is where you go wrong, am i not beautiful? Look at me,  look at me well Dan what do i lack in a woman?” She said breathlessly as tears threatened to fall. Dan was confused, he did not like where this conversation was going but he had to take it easy.

“I love you Dan, but you always ignore me as if am not woman enough for you” Sarah cried.  She knew Dan hated to be cried on and she wanted him to feel pity for her so he would hold her in his powerful hands. “Mum, this is ridiculous, you are the mother i never had why would you say that to me?” Dan voice came out more of a whisper.

“Dan let it go and love me as a woman and see me as a woman who needs love too” she tried to reason with him but he would hear none of it. “No, that can never happen, you remain my mum and furthermore you know i love Lucy and i will be marrying her soon, so this silly obsession for me should just stop!” Dan told her plainly.

He was so lost in thoughts that he did not notice her getting naked in front of him not until she threw herself at him. He was shocked, his wide opened mouth and eyes clearly told this. He stared at his supposed to be guardian naked before him and words failed him. His body went stiff and his body failed to make a move. He knew she was into some stupid love for him but he never knew she could be this obsessed with him.

“Look at me, Dan, what don’t i have in a woman?” She winked wickedly at him as she walked seductively toward where he was standing. She was only two steps away from him when Dan suddenly found his long gone voice and feet. “Don’t!, come near me!” he yelled. She was taken aback, she thought that this little game would get him where she needed. A hard slap brought her to consciousness and before she knew it, Dan forced forced clothes on her and pushed her out his house. She was humiliated and hurt and no amount of shouting and crying would bring Dan to open the door for her. She picked herself and got out of his compound before she attracted unnecessary attention.

Present.

Dan would be hers whatever it took, she thought. She had only tried one option of throwing herself at Dan but it yielded no fruits and now she had remained with one other option. It was dangerous, it had risks but she had no choice. She smiled bitterly as she thought about the stupid good for nothing girl that came between her and Dan, Lucy.

No one came between her and whatever she wanted and lived just like what happened 20 years ago and now Lucy had come in.  Trouble brewing.
