Chapter 22
Luciano’s POV
Walking into the house, I loosened my tie, slumping into the nearby couch. That Eva girl tried making my life stressful. If not for the fact that we needed a model urgently, I wouldn’t have agreed to her working for us. Who the hell flirt with someone you wanna work for? As a matter of fact, I hate her proud attitude..Tessa was right, her beauty is just a waste.

To add to my stress, my car broke down on my way back, though I was just few meters away from the house. Had to take a quick cab, and leave the car there for my mechanic to handle. It’s been a while I take public transport, it felt like hell sitting mong people who wouldn’t stop complimenting you for this and that…..goodness.

The house felt unusually silent at my presence, I haven’t seen my sweetheart too. I hope she isn’t pissed that I didn’t come check up on her. Not many had noticed my presence, due to the fact that I didn’t come in with the car.

After having a quick shower, to relief my muscle of the stress. I went to check on my daughter, she supposed to be up already…it’s past twelve. I rarely come home this early, but had to leave, rest is important.

“Sweetheart” I called out sweetly, pulling tht knob to her door, as it made way, giving a little cracky sound. No response.

One thing to know about my daughter is that she loves spending time in her room, I had made sure I get her the necessary things to make her comfortable. I peeped in, wishing to see her at her reading table, were she reads or paints; she seems to be absent. There is a figure on the bed, shivering. Fear gribbed my heart, I barged in with haste, going towards her bed. Her little figure got wrapped under the blanket, with her nightwear still on.

My heart skipped on touching her body, she is burning up badly. “What the hell?” I gritted, taking off the blanket as I pulled her into my arms.

“Angel…Angel…what’s going on…Angel look at me” I cried out, holding her closer, I lifted her up setting the bed properly. “Daddy….. daddy” she called faintly, her voice seem to be fading up. She is having a fever again….this is really bad.

“Sweetheart, you are burning up….gosh, I need to call the doctor” I rushed my words, dailing the family doctor.
“Mr. Luciano….”

“Please Doc, be here in a sec, my daughter is burning up …”

“I’m sorry…I’m currently in a emer….” “Shut the f**k up and get down here….my daughter is down….she needs an urgent attention” I yelled, hanging up.

I bent downward to place kisses on her forehead, still feeling her hot skin burning against mine. My eyes darkened on remembering the fact that she has a nanny. I wonder what the b!tch is doing not knowing about Angel’s condition. Wait a sec, this was her nightdress, it can only mean one thing. She hasn’t been off this bed since the early hours of the day.

“Have you eaten sweetheart?” I asked. Her pale eyes stared directly back into mine, her mouth pouted sadly, she shook her head negatively. I gnashed my teeth, folding my fist to control my anger.

“What about your nanny?” My voice hardened
“I don’t know”

I cussed, ruffling my hair. I don’t think I will be able to control it if I get my hands on that nanny, what does she take my daughter for. “I will be back sweetheart” I pecked her cheek.

“No…no…don’t leave me…please daddy” she cried out in her tiniest voice. I felt sorry. “I need to get a towel and water, to ease your temperature, before the doctor comes.” I explained.

“I’m not leaving the room…trust me” She nodded.

“Daddy…why did you shout at Doc Karl that way” Angel asked, pouting as she looks up to her father. He had taken her to the bathroom to clean her mouth, and have a change of cloth. He didn’t wanna make a scene until Angel is being attended to.

Placing an order to one of the maids, he sent for lunch, making sure she eats atleast a little. She was still burning up, but not as earlier, cos he made sure he massage her skin with cool water and towel.

Luciano chuckled. “I was just being frustrated…” He honestly replied.

“Even if I don’t like Doc Karl, I still won’t like seeing you yell at him, or anyone” she sincerely noted. He smiled, placing a soft kiss on her cheek. “Don’t worry, I ain’t gonna do that anymore….happy?”

She nodded. “Now you have to eat a little…and trust me, you will get to like Karl someday”
She shook her head with folded arms, forming a funny face. He laughed. “Why”

“I don’t like his syringe….I hate syringe…ewww…” She grimaced. He laughed out loud. “You’re kidding me right” she shook her head. One thing he loves about his daughter is her sincerity, she kinda took that trait from her mum. How I wished she wasn’t bewitched in the end..

A knock came on the door as Doc Karl entered. “Oh dear, I’m really sorry for….”

“You’re late again” he chipped in, hardening his face. He gave a frustrated sigh “Come on Luciano, I told you I was having an emergency case…sorry I’m late. Oh dearie, how are you feeling….come on, you ain’t gonna welcome Doc Karl” he winked, opening his box.

Angel gave a slight frown “I don’t want those injections anymore” she blurted out. “Respect Angel” her father warned. She pouted calmly.

“Come on Luciano…don’t blame the child…I know my injections hurt, but trust me, it won’t hurt this time” he wriggled his brows. She folds her arms. “Same thing he always says” she whispered. Luciano chuckled.

Babe’s POV
“Thanks so much for the walk..I’m really grateful” I appreciated, just after getting home. We kinda arrived in the early afternoons, not what we planned though, but I love the fun we had. We got to talk about some personal things; he really had a touching story too, too bad I couldn’t relate mine, it felt weird not remembering a thing from my past life, I just can’t help it.

After leaving the ice cream shop, we took a stroll round, feasting our eyes with lovely street activities. Morris is such a fun guy to be with; in that well ironed sleeve shirt on trousers he wears to the office, he looks official, like someone who wouldn’t have this social life, but he does have.

“You shouldn’t thank me, I should thank you instead, for agreeing to walk with me. It’s really rare getting gems like you….I really like your charisma, attitude and everything about your lifestyle. You are a simple and truthful being, keep it up” he noted, squeezing my hand a little in his.

I blushed, trying to comport myself. He has such sweet words too. “You are welcome Morris”
He nodded.

“Anyways….have a perfect day, I might check up on you later…gat some emails to attend to…”
“Ok..catch you up later then….” I smiled. He chuckled, raising my hand up to his lip, as he leave a soft peck on it.

“Bye then”
I couldn’t reply him, I kept staring at the hand he pecked me, not until a voice broke into my thought. “Still staring at the hand” Helen snickered.

I rolled my eyes; don’t tell me she had been staring, cos we are currently outside the house entrance.

“Don’t think much…he is cute” she winked. “Just get your ugly a$$ inside” I shunned, not wanting to blush in front of her. “Arhhh, I think I got my former sis back, so annoying” she whined.

I ignored her, walking up into my room, she wouldn’t be the one to ruin my lovely moment. I raised the hand to look at it again, with soft smiles on my face. I love to feel his warmth on my skin again…the tingles is out of this world.
