Chapter 61
(Heartbreak)
“Uhnn….it…it’s not what you think Jade ..I only said that to annoy him” Evans admitted, still wiping off the blood on his lips. Jade sighed bitterly, gulping in. She dropped the already squeezed drawing pad on a table, turning to face him

“Were you really peeking?” She asked. He felt a numb in his throat, unable to answer her question.

“I…” “Go get your lips treated…you are bleeding really bad” she cuts in, walking out of the room. Evans exhaled, slumping into one of the chairs.

“I hope this news doesn’t get to Kyla” he hoped.

CHIEFS MANSION
“Never knew you will make it here early…what a good news” Chief muttered, walking alongside Kyla as they make their way to his study

“Were you expecting me to reply you in two days time?” She snickered, walking to his cellar, a smirk rested on her face.

“You’ve answered your question. It’s a good thing to see you hale and healthy .. just like your dad…you heal up fast.”

“It’s just a bullet wound…not really in critical part…by that way, what did you say you have for me?” She asked, changing the topic as she sips from the drink with her

“Yea…you mean the surprise?” He asked. She rolled her eyes, walking toward the table where she dropped the bottle of drink, clinging unto the glass cup a lone.

“You’re gonna pay for that wine…” He noted, making her smirk broaden. “Whatever you call it chief, you ain’t gonna keep the surprise waiting..are you?”

“Just wanted you to meet someone..but before that .let’s talk about why you are here. The party is in two days time, and I believe preparations are already made. My men here will be glad to join your clan…having a little fun isn’t a sin.” He proposed. She shrugged

“Just the way it used to be…I’m also thinking of giving my men a break. They need to explore the world” she muttered softly. Chief looked on
“I feel like they have been caged for too long….yea, they are free to leave the clan to get things from that city..buh…they really haven’t had a life of their own. During the reign of Luna, they never had the opportunity to see the world, except going out for missions.”

Silence took in for a while; Chief cleared his throat afterward and spoke up

“I know you wish well for your clan and ermm…the members, but still…they need to be on a safer side. If you are sending them out, then tag a warning along…they should always watch their back. We haven’t confirmed yet of Don is dead…and according to the news we saw concerning Jacobs death…it’s still a mystery” Chief noted

“I get your point….but..” she was yet to say the next word when the door flung open, as a figure stepped in. His broad smile reminded her of someone she knows, despite wearing a sunshade, his looks still stands out.

“And who do we have here?” He beamed, spreading his hands wide. Kyla’s face brighten up with a smile, as she stood to her feet.

“Oh my gawd…Liam..is this you?” She blurted out, walking into his embrace. He hugged her tightly, caressing her hair, she could feel his sweet manly cologne. Liam is Chief’s second son, the first is married with kids.

Liam used to be Kyla’s crush about three years back; she got to know him few months before taking over the clan from the hands of Luna. Their first meeting was during her university days…though they never spoke, only for chief to come into the chapter, while she later got to know about his second son, who eventually is Liam.

She wouldn’t call what she had for him love, it was more of lust, considering his handsome looks. She later got rid of it after few days, she never believed in love and never knew she will ever feel one. They continued being friends until he left the country

“You’re looking hot girl” he commented, licking his lips. She gave him a slight punch on his arms, making him groan

“It’s boss” she snickered, wriggling her brow. He feign pain “That was painful…you gat steel in your fist…”

“Perhaps I learnt how to have one. ..”she furrowed her brows “Was this the surprise you were talking about” She asked Chief who breathed out

“Finally, I’m being recognized in the room…yes…too bad he had to come out now” he glared at his son who chuckled. “I couldn’t wait to see her on hearing about her presence”
“Gossips never ends here” Chief chipped in.They talked about other things, also bringing in the party agendas.

Blood Clan†
Standing in front of the round table, in the dark room, Don eyes wanders round, landing on each Senior member of the clan that is on ground. Mercury, Autumn, Scar, Rodent, and Hades who owns a small gang of his own. He cracked his fingers, tilting his neck as he speaks

“It’s a good thing I managed to stay alive from Jacobs torment, all thanks to you all who stood by me. My father’s ghost is still out there, not ready to sleep until all his enemy is down; same as my spirit not wanting to quit the service” he gritted.

“Lady Mafia has been a threat to this clan…taking down our members, the strength of this clan. So we, as a few but many in strength will not rest until she goes down too. This is our life, our strength. Revenge” he seethed in his husky voice, squeezing a paper on the table. The others nodded, except Amazon who only watched on with a sad eye..

The three roomies could be seen in the room, as Evans tried fixing his shoe lace. He glanced over at Justin who had a dull look on, thinking of nothing in particular

“You’re ok?” He asked, referring to Justin who didn’t pay attention until he felt a light tap on his lap. He turned to look at who touched him, only to meet Evans gaze.

“You been acting this way for the past few weeks, this is not the Justin I know.” He noted. Justin ignored him staring elsewhere “I’m fine” he replied, coldly.

Evans eyes met that of Raphael, who shrugged, looking into his phone. “You’re sure?” He asked again.

“Don’t you get it….I’m fine..” he snapped. A knock came on the door, and Evans being the one standing simply shrugged, going for it. He was yet to open it fully when a fellow forced his way in, hanging a back pack around his left arm.”what the hell” Evans snapped, checking out the guy, the other simply watched the drama.

“Hey…why are you dragging me out” the fellow quires Evans
“You can’t just come in here without a reason ..who the hell are you..and why the bag”
The fellow smiled

“Oh…my manners, I’m Finn, your new roommate” he winked. Evans felt confused
“He is here for the party ..from the other clan” Raphael chipped in. “Oh…but wait..are we now gonna share room…ain’t there other rooms for this fellows..wait a minute..how long is this party of a thing?” Evans questioned.

“The club party comes only in the night….during the day we get to train together, have some game fight and many more…such an interesting gathering..wait, are you a new member?” Finn asked. Evans nodded. “We are still trainees though”

“Hmm…I am too…perhaps that made them give me this room” he smiled. Evans rolled his eyes
“There are just three beds here” “That makes it easy..I will just sleep on anyone I like….” Finn snickered, his gaze met that of Justin. He cleared his throat “Well, except his….”

Evans left the room afterwards, his motive was to visit Kyla’s suite. He hasn’t meet with her for the past few days, he feel hurt. The clan seems to have taken a new turn, as the members of the other clan troop in their cars and vans. This week is surely gonna be an exciting period for both clans, coming together.

He made his way to the river first, perhaps he will meet her there…he thought, but met Jade instead. “Hey ” he called out, after she noticed his presence. She stood to her feet, walking towards him

“You’re leaving” he asked. She nods her head. “Was about leaving before you came in..looking for someone?” She asked, knowing he might be searching for Kyla.

“Not really…just wanted some fresh air” he lied…she noticed. They stay that way without words for a while.

“Jade…about the other night…when you were drunk…I know you remembered. I erm…”
“I will get rid of my feelings for you. I know you love Kyla…isn’t it” She asked, interrupting.

He nodded slightly..”I’m sorry I can’t reciprocate”. Her heart bleeds hearing that statement
“It’s ok….too bad she doesn’t love you back.” He heard her say.

“What do you mean by that” he questioned, with arched brows. “Kyla is a lady…two years older than you are. She need a man in her life…not a ….” She paused not wanting to say more. “I’m sorry” she mumbled walking away

He felt like the world was already against him ..is it bad to be the younger one…he love Kyla, that’s all that should matter….not his age.

Evans’ POV
I left the river after spending a while three, I just couldn’t take in what Jade had said. I will need to confront Kyla about this…truly, I don’t know what she feels for me. I don’t wanna be the used on, or stupid fellow. If she doesn’t feel for me…then it’s best she let me know, then will I agree that this love is one-sided.

Getting to her suite…I noticed the guards usually on stand post where not there..perhaps they are out there catching up good times with the other clan members. The door was not locked from behind, so I made my way in. Just like always, the room was silent, only to hear movement sounds from the room.

She will be in, I thought..pushing the door slightly open. I felt breath going out of me as I stepped into the intense room, with Kyla deeply engross in a kiss with a guy. I watched them for a while until my mouth could hold it’s word anymore.
“Kyla” I whispered. They broke the kiss to stare at me. The guy seem pissed, but she had an expressionless look. I didn’t wait for them to mutter any word before leaving. I think I have just crossed the boundary

Kyla’s POV
“I don’t know why you are bent on staying in my suite” I questioned Liam as he came in with his bag, dripping it on the couch. “You expect me to stay in the lounge over there…nahh” he replied, giving a funny face
“The lounge is perfect…just for you, and anyone you want”

“Here is also perfect..isn’t it” He asked, winking at her. If I was someone else, I would have been striken with a while adrenaline, that wink sent a sparkling feeling.

“I’m a boss here Liam” “Same as I, any other opinion” he asked with a smirk.

“I’m a female….” “And that’s just what will make my stay here more interesting.” He replied, standing to his feet as he drew closer to me. “Why do you say so?” I asked, not being moved by his charms.

“I wanna wake up everyday to see this beautiful face of yours…isn’t that more than winning a trophy?” He asked…his face closing up the space.

“What are you trying to do” I snickered. He smirked. “A good welcome won’t be bad either” he replied, slamming his lips on mine. I kissed him back, not because I feel for him…but just wanted to.

“You’re starved” he whispered into my ears..breaking the kiss as he looked into my eyes. I know what he is referring to. He smiled, rubbing my jaw with his thumb…”You feel empty right?

“You shouldn’t start your first day here with this Liam” I resorted, not breaking the contact

“You can’t probably deny that you don’t feel empty…don’t worry..I will make you full” He clicked his lips with mine again, quite roughly this time. Yea, I want to be f**ked badly…but I’ve never imagined having it with anyone else but Evans.

Just as if he was in my head…I heard his whisper. Liam broke the kiss, did he hear it too? Lo and behold, Evans stood along the doorway watching us..he had a look of hurt in his eyes. I gulped in. He left before we could speak.

“Who the hell is that…do you allow your members to barge in this way” Liam asked slightly pissed, he never wanted the kiss to end…and this was an opportunity for me to end it.

“Don’t worry about him” I simply replied, walking out.
