CHAPTER 56&57

 

Rhea POV
Mrs Bernstein entered the room with a gun and I shivered.

“Dear Rhea, are you ready to die?” She asked me and I shake my head violently and she laughed at my action.

“Too bad but you are destined to die, I would have killed you myself but my sweet daughter said she will do it herself.” She said.

Immediately, Ciara entered.

” Mum gives me the gun so we can get to business, I’m sick of her face already.”

Her mom handed her the gun and she pointed it at me immediately smirking at me.

I closed my eyes tightly expecting the worst, the bullet went off but it wasn’t directed at me, she shot it upwards.

The cops entered each holding a gun

“What’s this?” Mrs. Bernstein asked

“You are under arrest for the kidnapping of Miss Rhea Gilbert.” One of the cops said.

“This is insane!” She exclaimed.

“Sorry Mum but I called them, you were bent on killing Derek so I had to do something.” She shrugged

“You bas***d! How can you do that to your own mother? What I’m even saying am I not your mother? I only adopted you!” She said and Ciara looked shocked.

“Yes! I killed your parent so I could take charge of you since I was childless.”

“Officers, add murder to her case. She’s not just a kidnapper but a murderer.” Ciara scoffed emotionless.

Mrs Bernstein was handcuffed and then Derek and others entered, my eyes widened and I smiled happily.

“Rhea my love, don’t worry you are safe,” Derek said as he untied me

Kenzie and Mira hugged me tightly, Evie just waved at me and the other boys were conversing with the cops.

“Thanks so much, guys, I love you,” I said

“We are all glad it’s over now,” Mira said and Derek pulled me into a hug

“Stop hugging!” Ciara screamed and we stopped.

“Ciara thanks for your help, I guess you aren’t bad after all,” I said but she only rolled her eyes.

The officers were about leaving with Mrs Bernstein.

“Officers please wait, there’s something you need to know,” I said suddenly and everybody looked at me expectantly but Mrs Bernstein has figured out what I was about to say because she was glaring at me.

“Roland, that is your mother’s killer,” I said pointing at Mrs Bernstein

“What!” They all exclaimed except Ciara.

Roland made to storm towards her but the boys stopped him.

“Rhea, are you sure of what you are saying? That she killed Mrs Romeo.” One of the cops asked and I nodded.

” Well Mrs Bernstein, you tried but didn’t succeed, my mother is very much alive.” Roland blurted out.

“She’s alive?” Mrs. Bernstein asked unbelievably

“Officers please add attempted murder to her case,” Roland said and she was taken away.

“Wow, bro we are happy for you.” The guys surrounded him and we the girls giggled.

“Am glad you are okay, sorry about my mum,” Mikel said

“It’s no prob, Just a misunderstanding.”

“Riri baby, you are good now right?” Rox asked and I smiled at the name he called me.

“I really miss you, Rhea, can we go home now?” Mira said tiredly

“Sure and Rhea thanks for helping to discover who wanted to ki*ll my mum.” Roland said and I hugged him Both Derek and Evie cleared their throat.

“I’m sensing jealousy,” Kenzie said and we laughed.

“Let’s just go.” Derek came to me and made to carry me when Ciara suddenly talked

“No one isn’t paying attention to me anymore because am not useful anymore? You used me! Derek, you promised to come back to me remember, Rhea is saved so keep your part of the deal!” She cried bitterly

“Ciara you need to move on,” Derek said and she pointed the gun at me, why didn’t the cops take it from her

“Stop threatening us, am sure there’s no bullet there. Let’s go guys.” Rox said

We made to leave and immediately a bullet hit my back and I fell to my knees

“RHEA!!!” That was only what I heard as I blank out.
