EPISODE 5

 

 

Sniper entered into the control room to meet Dax busily typing on the laptop infront of him

 

“please turn on the master computer and do something real quick for me please” Dax begged

 

“Will stop pleasing of a thing?” Sniper said turning on the computer

 

He waited for the complete booting before he quickly clicked the link on the desktop

 

“I’ve seen it” He said as he sensed Dax was about to talk

 

He carefully watched all the footages before he started tracing the arrival of Mr Kelvin from all angles. He continued tracing the videos for 30minutes before speaking up

 

“Am done” He said and Dax bend over to take a look. They watched as Mr Kelvin exited the range rover. Dax steadily watched every step Mr Kelvin was taking.

 

“Run test of his footsteps with that of Mr Kelvin” Dax said

 

“But that’s Mr Kelvin do you think someone is impersonating him?” Sniper asked

 

“Yes, he just returned from Russia when he was supposed to be on the mission. I have a strong believe that he has switched” Dax said as sniper was already typing on the keyboard.

 

“Play the video on 3, 2 and 1” Sniper counted as they both pressed enter.

 

The main video on Dax laptop projected onto sniper’s screen in a skeletal form which performs the same function Mr Kelvin performs.

 

Three minutes into the video, a failed sign with the text “FAILED” under it displayed on the computer screen.

 

“What the f**k!!!!” Sniper exclaimed

 

He restarted the text all over again and got the same results.

 

“I think someone is impersonating him” Sniper said

 

“Trace him for me” Dax said to sniper.

 

 

 

TWO DAYS LATER

 

 

“He is approaching” Dax heard in his ears.

 

He turned off his front light and stepped out of the car, he leaned against the car with his black cap covering his face and he bent his head down.

 

soon he sensed footsteps approaching and he touched the handle of his gun through his trouser.

 

Soon the shadow appeared as he can see it approaching from a distance. He moved off the car into the middle of the road with his head still bent down. He saw the shadow stop and he raised his head and remove his cap, he started walking towards the man.

 

The man seeing what was going on also touched his pocket to feel the handle of his gun.

 

“Are you scared” Dax joked laughing uncontrollably

 

“f**k you Dax” The man said in an angry tone

 

“So you are back in town and haven’t made any attempt to contact me” Dax asked walking Mr Kelvin to his car. They stopped beside his car and he opened the door for Mr Kelvin to enter before he headed for the driver side

 

“I was planning a surprise visit for you but you just ruined it” Mr Kelvin said

 

“And beside my return was supposed to be secret how did you get to know about it” Mr Kelvin added

 

“You have started doubting my doings” Dax said. He just got a second confirmation that it’s an imposter using Mr Kelvin’s face

 

Mr Kelvin realised his mistake after Dax’s statement and decided to thread carefully.

 

“How did you know I will pass here?” Mr Kelvin asked

 

“I think that’s a question for the god’s” Dax said and brought out his revolver from his pocket pointing it at Mr Kelvin’s head. McClain who already knew where this is heading to quickly took off the mini microphone on his shirt button making the clone voice he was using disconnect automatically

 

“Who the hell are you?”

 

“Why are you impersonating him?” Dax screamed at the imposter. McClain in Mr Kelvin’s face laughed for a while before he shoved the revolver away and tuned to Dax.

 

“Let’s move, this area is not safe” McClain said.

 

Dax was dumbfounded, so McClain was the imposter? and how did he managed to change his voice?.They were the questions on Dax mind as he kicked start the car and drove off silently.

 

“Hope there is no need for any formal introduction again?” McClain asked jokingly

 

“But on a serious note, why did you do that? Dax asked

 

“It will make sense to you one day” McClain said in his usual way adjusting the seat into a bed form.

 

 

 

 

 

 

BACK TO PRESENT

 

 

 

 

“Start telling us about how you knew he is switching” Dax said

 

“It will make sense to you one day” McClain said dragging the laptop towards him. He typed some commands into the laptop and turned the screen towards them and waved at them.

 

“See you guys later I gotta go” He said and walked out of the control room.

 

Dax and sniper read everything on the screen and watched the videos connected to the texts.

 

 

 

 

 

 

UNSPECIFIED LOCATION

 

 

James has already gotten to the agreed point but could not see anyone there as Lord bavlin and the guy he talked to on the phone claimed. Several thoughts started running through his mind and he started looking around for a possible hiding spot but couldn’t see anyone.

 

He brought out his phone to dial a number but paused as he saw a man on cap covering his face approaching him. A text entered into his phone immediately he saw the man.

 

“Make sure you follow the direction he will take a minute after he is gone” The text read

 

He went back a bit and leaned on the wall behind him. He watched as the young man walked away.

 

He haven’t seen his face but he knew the man is young from his body stature.

 

James arranged the collar of his shirt and walked from under the shed. He glanced at his wrist watch and walked through where the young man passed. He brought out his phone to ask for the direction to take as he approached a curve when a hot metal touched his neck and a substance got injected into his neck, he felt dizzy immediately and was about to fall but got caught by the unknown man and was pushed into the awaiting car and they zoomed off.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

DAX TEAM LODGE

 

 

“What the f**k is happening?” sniper said as James was pushed into the car and the car zoomed off.

 

He rewinded the video as he saw Dax averting his gaze from what he was doing to his laptop.

 

Dax kept mute for a while before he finally spoke up

 

“He will work for us believe me” Dax said

 

“What if they ki*ll him” Sniper said

 

“They won’t ki*ll him, they are just taking precautions just watch the videos well” Dax said continuing what he was doing

 

 

 

 

 

 

THE NIC OFFICE

 

Mr Kelvin walked passed the assembled agents into the executives office to meet all the executives discussing but they quickly stopped after seeing him he managed to read the look on Forlan’s face before dragging his chair.

 

“Good afternoon” He greeted but Forlan was the only person who answered the greeting

 

“What is going on and why are you all staring at me like that” Mr Kelvin said as they all kept mute and refused to answer his greeting.

 

“What is coming over you Kelvin? Since you came back you have been acting strange”

 

“You are one of the punctual agents in this organisation, but now see the time you come to office”

 

“Just look at the time you are coming right now” The chairman said angrily

 

Mr Elikem got up from his seat and rolled down the projecting screen mat ( a screen in a mat form on which they project any video or picture they want to analyse. He got back to his seat and open his laptop and started fixing the projector.

 

Mr Kelvin laughed and got up to his feet realising what was going on. He walked towards the door and locked it from inside surprising everybody.

 

“Why the f**k did you close the door” The chairman yelled touching his pocket to feel his gun.

 

Forlan brought out his gun immediately he detected the chairman touching his gun

 

“All these days after Mr Kelvin returned, I’ve been doing some underground digging about him and guess what”

 

“This is not the real Mr Kelvin” Mr Elikem said and everybody turned to look at Mr Kelvin

 

Mr Elikem clicked on the NIC official application and it loaded for a while before coming on. He went straight to Mr Kelvin’s profile and clicked on his disorders. He pointed the mouse on a part that says

 

“Mr Kelvin has a blindspot on his left an eye injury he obtained during one of his missions”

 

Mr Elikem read it loud to the hearing of everyone and surprisingly, Mr Kelvin was still laughing. He clicked on the video folder and selected three videos, he clicked on the left mouse button and a pop up list opened he selected “play with vcl”

 

The video of Mr Kelvin entering the executives office came on. They watched as Mr Kelvin sat down and picked a file on his left without looking at that direction.

 

“What the f**k!!!!!!” The chairman and Forlan cursed in unison
