Chapter 47
(Bully in the Cafeteria)

Lazarus watch with ecstasy as Hunter charged towards him with full force. He had calculated the distance between them already; though with the invisible shield he had around him, he believes that Hunter won’t be able to get him. But he doesn’t know what to expect, Hunter might have fortified himself more.

He might have gotten more powers, so he also prepared himself for a fight. Just as hunter drew nearer, his fangs erupted as he pushed his claws forward; he collides with the magic shield as the force pushed him backward. He left out a loud growl, as Lazarus roared in laughter.

Getting on his feet, his used his sharp vision to examine the shield and believes that he had been fooled by Lazarus, but he didn’t let down his guard, he let out a wide smirk.

“Next time…Hunter…don’t be too forward, learn…to observe” Lazarus noted

“Just because you have learnt how to make spells a lot, doesn’t mean that you are a god. Lest you forget, the person standing in front of you isn’t just your king, but your god” he yelled

“And let me remind you..that that same person who made you a god was once banished from this land. Can anything good come out from Onyx?” he resorted. Hunter felt the height if his anger, he stared at the ring in him finger and smiled.

Lazarus had already had a clue on what he was about doing, so he began casting a spell to create a portal, and just then Hunter stretch forth his finger, the ring glowed piercing into the shield, as it make a cracking sound.

He roared in laughter as it breaks further, until it finally collapse.

A fog of smoke rose up, and just as it cleared off, he couldn’t find him. He was too slow; Lazarus had already gone, leaving no trace behind.

“Arghhh” Hunter roared, hitting his fist in the ground

“I will get you Lazarus…just wait for it” He gritted

Emerald’s POV
The bell rang for the first lecture, and D’Arcy is yet to be in school. Though the teacher haven’t arrive yet, making the class a bit rowdy.

“Damn, why is the teacher not yet here…I think we are having Mrs. Webster this morning” Rose stated, though my mind wasn’t in class, but I still heard her. I didn’t bother to reply though, my mind is far off, thinking about Dave.

I mean, after the kiss we shared that day, I have always been longing to see him, to feel his touch on my skin, his soft lips across my lips….damn, is this Emerald thinking this way, gosh.

I was still daze in my thought until I heard my name

“Miss Lush, will you do us a favour by telling us what’s on your mind” Mrs. Webster stated. I gasp in shock, looking around as everyone’s gaze was on me. I mean, I didn’t know when she came in, and perhaps she had called on me to do something which I clearly didn’t hear, because I was busy thinking of a guy…damn, what has Dave done to me.

“Erm…I’m sorry Ma, I just….zoned out” I cleared my throat, she rolled her eyes.

“Ok…as I was saying earlier, do me a favour by collecting the group assignment, I want it on my table before the closing hour. Is that clear?”

“Yes ma” I replied

“Ok…today..we will be talking about…” She started her teaching, while my eyes wandered beside me and landed on Rose. She gave me this ‘what’s wrong’ look, while I shook my head.

“Nothing” I mumbled.

Throughout the lecture, I wasn’t settled, Dave is yet to arrive, what is keeping him. The bell for break rang as we all head out to the cafeteria.

“Do you notice that Dave is not in school, but our project is with him, what are we gonna do now” Rose asked

“I don’t know, I will need to submit the others before the end of the day, but Mrs. Webster will still find out that ours is not among. She might penalize us for it.

“Have you called him yet?”

“Yes…but he is not picking up” I stated, as we ordered our food, before picking a table.
Just then, Gary came to stand at the front, clearing his throat to gain eveyone’s attention.

“Hi student of Crystal high…your lovely boy here will be having a party this weekend my house” He smiled out as the students chattered happily

“In the palace?” a blonde girl asked, showing her full teeth

“Not in the palace dump a$$….” He snapped rolling his eyes, as her face sadden

“But it will be held in one of the most popular club house in the city. Lion club house, and everyone is invited. It’s gonna be filled with fun, games and drinks” He boasted, earning a loud shout of glee

“I will be expecting you all…and you to Emerald..” he winked at me, as I frown. I heard Rose scoff before facing her food.

“Stupid as***ole” Rose mumbled, after he had gone back to his seat. I let out a smirk

“Seems like you are getting over him”

“Why won’t I, I’m sick of being insulted by him, now I know who he really is. I was blinded by love before” she replied.

I didn’t say anything, everyone was minding their food until someone stepped into the cafeteria

“Oh my god…just check him out” A girl muttered, as I glance up to have a look at who they are talking about. Lo and behold, Dave walked in, wearing a bright smile as he waved at the girls giving him a greenlight.

“Why is he just coming now” Rose asked

“I…don’t know” I managed to reply, gulping down the food in my mouth. I could feel my hear leaping for joy. I don’t know why I feel like running towards him, pulling him in an embrace and smashing my lips on his…gosh.

I was still drooling when I heard his voice, he had already come closer

“Hi….”

“Hey Dave…you are late” Rose snapped funnily, he chuckled

“Yea…I had to do something important…didn’t know that I will take much time to come” he replied, pulling out a seat. He sat opposite me, as our eyes met. He winked.
I could feel butterflies trying to find their way out of my stomach.

“Hey….how are you” he asked

“I’m fine” I replied, trying hard not to blush

“Did you come with the assignment?”

“Sure..sorry I had to come late…let me order something” he stated, getting on his feet. He ordered his food and was already coming back, when Crystal spoke up
“Hey Davd cutie…care you join us over here…I reserved a seat for you” She smiled out, beckoning on him.

“Ouch…is that really Crystal asking him to join her” Someone whispered from behind
“Damn, he is lucky…not all guys get to eat with Crystal high’s daughter.” Another stated.

Her seat is a reserved place, more like a VIP, and the food given to her and anyone that joins her table is always specially prepared. One word, she is treated like a princess in the school and her followers enjoys lots of souvenirs.

Everyone watch D’Arcy as he paused in his steps.

“He is surely gonna join her, he won’t turn her down” Another girl muttered, as the chattering continued. But D’Arcy clearly ignored them all; he smiled out briefly, facing Crystal

“Erm…I’m sorry Crystal..but as you can see, I have gotten a seat already…maybe next time” he winked at her, before going to join Emerald and Rose

“God damn..he turned her down” Someone said out loud, as the student began whispering to each other. It became much as Crystal became enrage, she bang her fist on her table, making the plate crash to the ground

“You all should just shut your mouth up” She yelled, as everywhere became silent. She took up in haste, about leaving when a student came running from the counter, holding a plate of spaghetti collides with her, mistakenly.

The plate fell off the student’s hand, crashing on her leg.

“Arghh” She yelled, kicking it off

“Oh my gawd…I’m sorry…i…” She didn’t wait for her to finish her state, as she landed her a resounding slap across her face.

“How dare you pour hot spaghetti on me…you this b!tch” she picked up the plate, hitting her with it, as the student kept pleading with her.

D’Arcy tried getting up on his feet as he watched the scene, but Emerald holds his hand

“She only want to get your attention, don’t go” She stated. He sighed, sitting back on his seat

Though, she doesn’t like the fact that Crystal is bullying the student, but she knows what she can do. If D’Arcy should go to stop her, she will start her fake tears and try to hug him again, she might even kiss him this time, and she won’t be able to take that in.

That might cause a fight between her and Crystal.

Looking back at where D’Arcy sits, Crystal noticed that he wasn’t even paying attention to the scene she is making, but concentrated more on what Emerald was saying to him.

This made her more enrage, she angrily drop the plate and walked out of the cafeteria, cursing Emerald.
