“Help us, somebody” Dave yelled with all the strength left in him as he approach the little cottage he found just after they exit the wood. It took them almost three days to come out of the dreaded forest, where they feed on little wild fruits and unhealthy stagnant water.

They were already weak to their bones; Dorothy couldn’t even move her legs any longer, Dave have to carry her on his back to avoid her fainting on the way, because she was already loosing breathe.

“Somebody!!!!!” he screamed, as he heard some voices coming from the building

“Oh, visitors….we have some visitors Paul. Oh heavens, what is wrong with her” Granny Mary, the lady of the cottage came out to meet Dave
“Which Visitors” Pappy Paul, her husband asked, peeping through the window

“Shut up, moron, call Peggy” she shouted back, as she led Dave into the house

“Welcome dearies, oh… you look tired from the journey, let me get you something to drink” she muttered, while Peggy, their maid, assisted Dave in laying Dorothy safely on a bed

“Thank you ma” he muttered after drinking the whole water given to him in a rush

“Oh no just call me Granny Mary” she said and chuckled

*FEW MINUTES LATER*

After eating to his fill, Dave relaxed a little to save his strength. Granny Mary is so kind to serve them food and drinks despite being strangers. He hasn’t been himself for the past three days; Dorothy’s case was worse.

He managed to get some wild fruits for her to feed on when she started complaining of hunger the next day. He felt irritated by her pressures but get to know that she is someone who doesn’t skip her meals. Still relaxing, he stares at her as she was being fed with milk by Peggy, the maid; this was for her to regain her strength before taking a solid meal.

He smiled remembering how she was crying back in the wood, regretting her actions of coming into the wood; Dorothy has a soft and caring heart, wonder why she became friend with a witch like Kamina, he thought, admiring her actions

“Staring at the young lass, is she you Girlfriend? Oh my back..” Pappy Paul groan, sitting on the bench beside Dave, while he chuckled

“Your girlfriend is beautiful” Pappy Paul muttered

“Erm…she is not my…….”
“Yea…that’s exactly what you will say, come on, don’t pretend to me. I can’t see it in your eyes, you like her right”

“Oh…yea” Dave muttered not knowing what to reply the old man
“Sure…you know when I met my wife, she was just like the young lass over there, beautiful and smart”

“Oh..really” Dave asked, getting interested in the old man’s speech
“Yes, but I was also scared of her at first” he said silently
“Oh, but why”

“Well…because….she shouts at me a lot, like a tiger roaring at his prey, ready to pounce on me. She also has this scary face whenever she is angry” he demonstrated the last sentence, as Dave laughs his lungs out, at the funny remark

“Hey,,,I heard you,,,keep on telling my story to everyone okay” Granny Mary shouted from the kitchen

“Oh oh, she heard me,,,,,was I that loud” he asked Dave who couldn’t hold his laughter. The couples are just so funny

“Oh sorry sweet pie, you are not a tiger face” he yelled

“Better…..I would have cut your ears off” she yelled back
“You see what I’m talking about…shhhh, let’s keep our voice down” Paul said

“But Pappy Paul, why did you decided to marry Granny Mary, if she scares you” Dave asked politely

“Awwn, about that, she is a good cook, and also very good on bed you know,,,,,” he said, more like a whisper
“Ohhhh,,,,,,,haahaha” Dave laughs again, getting his point

“Sorry dear, but I will like to take my husband away for a while…come on Paul let me massage your back a little” Granny Mary said, raising her wrinkled brow

“Oh….that will be nice…

After they left, Dave returned his gave to Dorothy, she was awake already. She smiled at him, and he smiled back. He didn’t know why he did that, but Pappy Paul is not wrong anyway

Dorothy is beautiful; he just didn’t notice it all this while. Perhaps the glasses she always put on hid her real beauty, he thought. The thought of his father came to his mind, disrupting the other thought.

How is he faring now that he is far away from home

“I believe the police will be looking for me by now” he thought inwardly……

KAMINA’S POV

“Has Dorothy been found” Louis asked after she barged into my room
“No, and Dave is also missing, it’s strange isn’t it?” I asked
“Yea, weird too”

“But why will they be missing at the same time”

“I don’t know too, but about Dave, I thought he is your cousin” Louis asked
“Yea”

“Did you ask his Dad about the last time he left home, we might get a clue of where he went to” Louis said

“I did, but his dad is just a stupid old black goat, he doesn’t wanna say anything to me. I wonder how my aunt got to marry a pig like him, I hate him with passion” I seethed
“Oh” Louis muttered rolling her eyes
“Did you manage to reach Eric, any new gist” Louis smirk

“No not yet, I haven’t been myself this days, I need Dave to fulfill my plans” I groan

“What if he doesn’t agree to help?”
“Leave everything to me, okay”
“Fine…Let’s go have some fun then, forget about Dorothy for now, she can take good care of herself. Even her parents are not worried about her, why worry yourself then…”

“Yea, you are right….

Elizabeth wanders her way around in the strange world, finding it hard to leave the mystic environment. She heaved and sighed loudly, trying to figure out a way of getting out of there.

“Nena lied to me, I can’t be dead. I believe I am just trapped here” she breathed out, and sat in her butt, with thick harmless fog oozing around her. She noticed a figure coming from the extreme of the endless site. The fog made her sight a but blurry, preventing her from seeing the stranger’s face, until he was close to her

“I greet thee, oh wondrous lady from Earth” the stranger said, bowing before her. She gave him a surprise look and almost laughed at his manner of approach

“Good day, unknown being, who are you and how can I help you” she asked

“You can call me Ralph, your guardian angel. I am sent to stay by your side” he muttered, still bowing

“Guardian angel? Is that some kind of joke or what, is this also one of Nena’s prank” she snarled, but he gave her no response

“Fine” she breathed out “who sent you and why are you here” she muttered

“I was sent by your creator, I will see you through some hard times and keep you company till your time is up” he replied.

“Hey, till my time up? How? You are speaking in parables, and please can I see your face now, you have been bowing for so long” she said and he straightens up, and stared at her. She could now see his face and marveled at his beauty. There is no doubt that he is an angel, one will surely find out through his flawless skin and handsome face, which couldn’t be found on Earth.

“Ok, ermmm…angel…ermm” she shuttered

“Ralph” he chipped in
“Yea, Angel Ralph, I really need to get out of here, my friends will be missing me by now” she said
“You can’t leave this world for now” Ralph replied

“Why? Why are you here then” she seethed

“Like I said earlier, I’m here to keep you company. This place is just an illusion; it’s more like a vacuum, filled with nothing. It is empty and useless. There is no being here, that’s why you haven’t come across any other person’s except your enemies” he muttered

“So what are we gonna do, I need to get back into my body”
“You will, but that will be later. What we need to do now is to take you out of this place, to a safer environment” he said taking a hold of her hand, as they vanished into space….
