Chapter 4

She saw him smile while nodding at her which gave her a sense of approval and support.

“But you know, you referred to the ‘young people’ before, but you don’t look that old yourself?” she questioned.

Before he could answer, a woman with a clipboard and a earpiece walked up to them and whispered something in his ear.

She saw how his expression darkened and how the woman immediately stepped back and handed him the clipboard.

He took it in his hand and sighed before sighing the paper and waving her off to which she calmly obliged.

“You seem quite busy,” she commented.

He sighed and crossed his arms,

“There are some employees that don’t know how to keep things confidential.”

She gave a small sympathetic smile,

“It must be hard. What position are you in your company? It must be very high if you have your own assistant.”

He glanced at her and for a brief millisecond, she could have sworn she saw a small smirk.

“I’m the current CEO, it does get busy so I hire a secretary to help out with my schedule.”

Daniella froze and gaped in complete and utter shock.

Did she hear right?

A CEO?

Right in front of her?

Talking to her even.

She doesn’t even work in the business industry?

Why is he still talking to her if she had something to do with him?

“Oh, and by the way, I’m turning twenty eight this coming July.”

She widened her eyes in shock and almost dropped the glass.

“You are only twenty seven? You are so young,” she exclaimed.

He laughed softly,

“Thank you.”

“It usually takes years for people to go up that high in position,” she said in awe.

“It seems I had a knack with negotiations and management so I moved up quite quickly,” he answered.

She was still stuck on the fact that he was only seven years older than she was.

She thought they were at least on the same newly-graduated and looking for work level, but it appears he already had his work done.

“Is it really that surprising?” He chuckled.

She suddenly realized she had been staring and snapped herself out of her thoughts.

“Sorry, I was just amazed. I have never met anyone as young as you are be the company CEO. It’s really inspiring.”

“Inspiring?”

She saw his amused smile,

“I guess it’s nice to be an inspiration to others. It seems the Board of Directors don’t seem to think so.”

“Really? Why? Because you’re young and they’re not?”

She heard him snicker and smirk widely.

“That’s probably why.”

She was slightly confused but still nonetheless glad he laughed at her joke.

Although deep down she was still recovering from the fact that their positions were far away from each other.

She felt slightly uncomfortable talking to someone so high up.

Especially someone that owns an entire company and could potentially ruin her dad and her family finance.

However, from the way things were going, she felt he wasn’t as scary as other CEO’s.

“If it makes you feel any better, your fan club probably doesn’t seem to hate you,” she remarked.

She watched him look at her puzzled.

“Fan club?”

“The group of females that look like they want to come here…”
