 Chapter 25

~The ball was a memorial for the queen. Not Kaitlyn’s birthday. In case you omitted it ~

The guards came in and helped carry Kaitlyn to her room. Kadence walked behind them. The ball was already ruined so everyone were going back home

“K-d!” Emma ran and hugged Kadence before checking her out from head to toe.

“Are you alright? Did you get hurt?” Emma asked.

“I’m fine, trust me” Kadence smiled sweetly…

“Thank goodness. Come let’s go see the others, we’re leaving for home. Where’s Liam?” Emma asked.

“He went back earlier” Kadence replied lowly…

She nodded and held Kadence’s hand then left to join the others.

Sophia and Nora walked to where the others were standing. They were actually helping the guests to evacuate…

They all boarded the limousine which drove them back to school…

Liam appeared back in his room and removed the cap of his cloak and walked to the window of his room, looking out of it.

He could see the whole kingdom from here, his soldiers walking around the castle.

“Do I really wanna live this life?” Liam muttered to himself.

He removed his cloak kept it back then wrote a letter to his father telling him that he went back to Diamond High. He kept it on the bed and wore back his coat before vanishing, heading back to Diamond High.

Kadence and the rest arrived back to the school, everyone tired as hell. Sophia yawned and walked to Connor. She kissed him briefly…

“Goodnight guys, I’m tired as f*vk” She yawned loudly heading to her room. Lisa followed behind.

“Goodnight Kadence” Eric smiled and left with Romeo and Gideon. Connor left his way with Nora.

Kadence sighed and walked away, heading to the rooftop. She walked and sat down on the bench, looking up at stars.

“Kitty…”

Kadence’s heart skipped several beats. She sighed still looking up at the stars.

“Liam” She muttered without looking back at him.

Liam walked in fully heading to her direction. He stopped right in front of her and crouched to her level

“Are you mad at me?” He asked.

Kadence faked a smile and shook her head before looking back up.

“I’m strong, I’ll get over you I promise. Hope it doesn’t change our friendship” Kadence asked and looked back at him.

Liam stared deeply at her, getting lost in those brown eyes of hers.

“No, I promise it won’t.” Liam replied.

Kadence nodded with a smile.

“Today I’ve learnt a lesson. Life isn’t full of roses and honey, sometimes you don’t get what you want” Kadence spoke.

Liam nodded and smiled watching her pretty face. She must have cried alot, just the thought of it made his heart ache.

Suddenly, Kadence felt a pain on her right arm. She hissed and rubbed the area around her shoulder. The pain immediately subdued.

“Don’t you feel sleepy?” Liam asked.

“Yeah, kinda. I think I’ll go to bed” Kadence said and stood up.

“Goodnight Liam”

“Goodnight Kitty” He replied.

Kadence nodded and walked away. Liam watched her walk away till she was out of site.

“Goodnight my love” He whispered and vanished away heading to his room.

NEXT DAY •

“Hey be careful with the flour” Kadence said but it was too late, the bag of flour fell from Nora’s hand. A white smoke formed in the kitchen.

A coughing and sneezing competition soon began.

“Geez…” Lisa coughed till the window, she opened it.

Well today was Friday and the principal announced it as a free day for them. No school today, they’ll get to enjoy and relax as a compensation for their fight of yesterday.

They were actually helping the school cook, Miss Verna to prepare for lunch.

Once the smoke dissipated, they stopped coughing and began laughing. Kadence looked out of the window. She could get a glimpse of the garden and could see Eric and Liam discussing.

“What could they be discussing of?” She wonder and shrugged before walking back.

Liam was sitting on his own at the bench in the garden when Eric walked up to him then sat down beside him.

“Hey” He waved and Liam.

Liam removed his earpiece and waved back at him.

“How’s your day going?” Liam asked.

“Well it’s a beautiful day” Eric replied…

“I wanted us to discuss about something….it’s about Kadence” Eric said.

Liam turned to him with a furrowed brow.

“With the little time I’ve spent with her, I know when she’s happy and when she’s sad. Right now, I can’t help but notice the sadness that lurk around her eyes. I know you’re the reason behind that sadness. It’s really hard to say especially coming from me but Kadence really loves you. A love like that comes only once in a lifetime, don’t let it pass by for who knows what because there is a lot of pretty girls but there’s only one Kadence” Eric spoke.

Liam began spacing out. Thoughts about his family, his mission, his father, Kadence filled his mind.

“I need to be alone” Liam said and stood up then walked away. Eric watched him go and smiled sadly.

“I can see you want to be with her but fear won’t let you be” Eric thought and went his way too..

“Tada!! Blueberry shortcake” Sophia smiled and clapped her hands happily.

“I made sushi” Nora said.

“I made chicken soup” Lisa and Emma said.

“And I made fried rice” Kadence said.

“I cooked water” Kaitlyn said passively.

The rest laughed loudly…

“What?” Kaitlyn asked.

They all removed their apron and watched their hands before walking out of the kitchen.

“Where’s my baby bear” Sophia said.

“Surely at the gym with the boys” Nora replied biting on the chicken she smuggled from the kitchen.

“Let’s go!” Sophia said and led the way.

School gym**

Various boys and girls could be seen, both humans and supernatural. Some where doing pushups while some were lifting weights while some were working their abs out with some doing butt workout.

Jody walked in the gym wearing a crop top with black jeans. She forgot her phone there when she came to do her morning exercise.

Luckily, it was still there where she left it. She took it and turned to leave but paused on her steps at what she saw.

Gideon was lying down on the flat bed shirtless, lifting the weights up. The sweats that was on his body made him look so dreamy.

“And 30” He said and placed it then sat back up. His gaze locked with that of Jody. She was kinda pretty.

Something was different about him from the other days. He wasn’t feeling nervous and his heart wasn’t beating fast like before. Instead he looked at her like he will look at any normal girl.

Jody came back to her senses and quickly walked out of the room.

“I never knew he was that built up” She thought while going back to her room…

The girls walked in to see the boys working out except Eric and Liam who weren’t there.

“Babe” Sophia smiled when she saw Connor.

Connor stopped doing his pushups and sat properly.

“Come give me a hug” He stretched his arms.

“No, you’re all sweaty” Sophia replied and took a towel then wiped off his sweat. She looked up at him then pecked his lips with her hands placed on his chest.

“I love the feeling of your hands on my body” Connor said and bit his lips cutely.

“Pervert…shut up!” Sophia snapped which made his laugh.

Nora was feeling uncomfortable. She tried as much as possible to look elsewhere but she found herself looking back at Gideon.

“Those abs…” Was all what her mind kept screaming.

It became worse when Gideon walked up and stood in front of her. He smiled when he saw she was still putting on the necklace.

Gideon raised his hands Nora face. She jolted when he touched her face.

“Relax, I’m wiping off some soup on your face. I don’t bite you know” He smiled.

Nora blushed and looked away.

Lisa felt an arm round her waist. She sighed and removed it then turned to Romeo.

“You have to stop doing this. I’m not your girlfriend” She frowned.

“Then please be mine. I really love you” Romeo said leaning closer.

Lisa blocked his mouth and smirked.

“I’m still thinking” She whispered making Romeo groan angrily…

“Alright, I feel oppressed” Kaitlyn suddenly said.

“Yeah, me too” Kadence pouted.

“C’mon let’s leave these lovebirds. How about we go swim?” Emma suggested.

“Yeah good idea! Last person to reach will give me his lunch” Kaitlyn said and ran away while laughing.

“Hey, that’s not fair” Emma said and ran behind her together with Kadence.

The students who were passing by watched them run.

“I’m I dreaming or I’m seeing princess Kaitlyn making friends” A girl said.

“You’re not alone” The other replied…

At the school’s pool**

“K-d will give us her meal!! K-d will give us her meal!” Kaitlyn and Emma chanted while swimming.

“That’s not fair. You two have long legs but I don’t.” Kadence pouted.

“Your legs are longer” Emma said swimming away.

“Stop chatting and just swim” Kaitlyn pulled Kadence into water.

She removed the strands of her hair and began swimming while giggling. She suddenly remembered of how Zara almost drowned into water when they were 9.

She held the edge of the pool and removed her face from the water. A gasp escaped her lips when she noticed that her face was just inch apart from Liam’s. When did he get there?? Eric was standing behind him while watching the scene with a knowing smile…

“A love like that comes once in a lifetime” Eric’s word kept ringing in his mind.
