El Antiguo Guerrero_ chapter 42

Episode 42:

Theme:- Rey of Medieval

“You are on your way to the future. The destiny of the pack and the realm now rests on your shoulders.” Rey could hear Seer Argon’s voice through the portal.

The portal to the future was unlike anything Rey had ever been through. It was like he was sliding through a tunnel. His body was rotating, twisting, and hitting different unseen objects. He could feel everything in his stomach rumbling. His intestines and bowel were rolling in his stomach. Just when he thought there was no way out again, he felt his body flying in the air.

With a loud thud, Rey’s body landed on the floor, which sent pain through his entire body. It was like someone had pushed him from a 22-story building. After what seemed like forever, he managed to drag his body up, followed by the cracking of his bone. Rey cracked his phalanges while using his eyes to survey his surroundings at the same time. He was yet to make another move when he heard a loud, painful shriek behind him.

He quickly spun and folded his hands for any unexpected attack. However, he lowered his attack when his gaze met with that of Dan. The latter was also rolling on the ground in pain.

Slowly, Rey moved towards him and stretched his hand to help him up. Without reluctance, Dan grabbed his hand, and Rey yanked him up. Taking a few steps forward, something hard collided with them, sending them back to the ground.

Another painful groan escaped their mouths while they managed to push the object away. Rey rose to his feet, and his mouth agape. It wasn’t an object that collided with them, but Conor and his brother, Coven.

“Alpha,” the duo said at the same time.

Rey shook his head, unable to believe that his beta had followed him.

“Kindly help us up,” Coven said when he noticed that Rey wasn’t making any attempt to make any move.

“Perhaps he is not happy to see us,” Connor said with a scoff.

“It is not what you are both thinking,” Rey quickly said. He stretched his hand and held Coven to his feet while Dan yanked Conor up.

“Just that I am surprised to see…” Rey is still saying this when Coven vomits on his body.

“Sorry,” he quickly apologises, while his twin brother and Dan erupt into laughter. “Those things,” he said while pointing towards the sky.

“You mean the portal?” Dan said.

“Yes,” Coven said, nodding his head in affirmation. “It sucks like hell. It was like my stomach was twisting.

“The same here,” Dan and Connor agreed.

“It is making me feel nauseous like I should just vomit everything I have eaten.”

“Does that mean you should let it out on me?” Rey inquired, with a frank expression on his face. “You deserve a punch.” He folded his fist and punched Coven lightly on his shoulder, making them erupt into a laugh.

“So, what next?” Dan asked, his gaze wandering around the whole place. “We need a clue or someone to lead us. You know, it doesn’t make sense if we just keep wandering around, or asking people around us that we are looking for the island of Crete. “

“You are right,” Rey supported. He scrutinised their environment once again. They were in a field that was full of wheat. It stretched out as far as the eyes could see. Seeing that the wheat wouldn’t allow him to see further, he activated his wolf vision and hearing. Finally, he could hear the sound of horses and a few voices from afar. “Over here,” Rey said to the rest.

Without waiting for their reply, he dashed away with his wolf speed.

Rey inhaled the cool breeze, and the wind blew his hair back. For a moment, everything seems peaceful, and Rey feels as if everything should remain like this forever. But he knew better. He was sure that nothing would last forever. Rey knew that within a few minutes, everything would change and turn bloody.

After a few minutes of running with his wolf speed, they finally arrived at the other end of the field, while his beta also stopped behind him. However, they were greeted by an awful sight. In front of them stood hundreds of soldiers in shining armour. They were riding on a horse, with a spear and a gauntlet in their hands. They wore helmets that were glistening with the help of the sun. It covered their whole faces, making it impossible for Rey and his team to see them.

“Seems like they were raiding the villagers,” Dan said. He was now standing beside Rey, while Coven and his brother stood on the other side.

“What should we do?” Rey glanced at his team, and he could feel their urge to help. He also wishes to charge into the battle and help the villagers. But he didn’t want to interfere in something that didn’t belong to him. Besides, he already had enough trouble with tails, and he didn’t want to risk some group of soldiers trailing him.

“What did you suggest?” Rey inquired with his gaze on Conor and his brother.

“Let’s wait and see how things go,” Coven said.

“Besides, we can’t just run into a battle we know nothing about.” Coven supported

“What about you?” Rey asked his attention now on Dan.

“You are the leader,” Dan simply replied.

“We would follow all the orders you gave us.” Coven and Connor said it at the same time.

Rey shifted his attention back to the scene in front of him. It has now turned bloody, as the soldiers are slaughtering the villagers mercilessly. Amidst the chaos, Rey could see a young boy, perhaps 18 years old. He was fighting valiantly and trying his best to defend his people from the soldiers. Beside him stood another girl of the same age. She was also defending a sack, and Rey could guess that the sack contained their farm product.

The boy was so focused on trying to drag a soldier from his horse, that he didn’t notice another soldier that was about to strike him from behind.

Suddenly, Rey feels a strange magnetic field pulling him towards the boy. It was such a strong force that he couldn’t explain how it happened. Before he could make another move, the sword of the undead, the same weapon he inherited after he defeated Thanatos, started glowing in its scabbard.

The soldier was now a few inches from striking the boy, but the undead sword unsheathed from its scabbard automatically. With a speed beyond recognition, faster than both human and supernatural beings’ eyes, The sword flew towards the scene and blocked the blow. The soldier stood transfixed on the spot, unable to believe what had just happened.

A strange sword appeared out of nowhere and parried his blow. Before the man can make out what’s happening, Rey pierces his claw into his back and brings out his heart from behind. His eyes are now blood red, with a golden flame emitting from his body.

Beside him stood his beta’s. They had also transformed into their wolf form. The same goes for Dan; his god mode is now activated.

Rey stretched his hand forward, and the undead sword appeared in his palm. Before the rest of the soldiers could make a move, Rey and the team had already charged into their midst. Left and right, they were slaying the soldiers. Painful screams fill the atmosphere, and blood splits everywhere. In the blink of an eye, the bodies of all the hundred soldiers were littered all over the ground.

The once beautiful floor is now covered with the blood and corpses of soldiers.

Rey stood still, breathing heavily. A sly smile escaped his lips as he examined the damage he had just done with his team. However, he was distracted from his thoughts when he heard a voice saying “brother” behind him.

“Brother,” he heard the voice call out again. Slowly, he turned back and his gaze met with that of the young boy.

Welcome back to Medieval Times, Brother Rey.” The boy said it again, with a wide grin on his lips, followed by the loud roar of the villagers.

“Our hero is back,” they started chanting loudly, their voices echoing throughout the whole place, not caring if any other soldiers were lurking around.
