“Let’s go ” Keith said as he took his bag the next morning

” Where are we going to? ” I asked without getting up from the bed

” we can’t stay in this hotel anymore, I have less than 200 dollars with me” he said and I stood up

“Let’s just go back home ” I said and he shook his head

“No, we have to continue hiding ”

“Until when? ” I asked and he glared at me

“I have to go back home, my parents will be worried, I even left my phone at home ” I said and he scoffed

“so? ”

“I’m saying we should go back home” I half yelled

“I can’t stand not seeing my parents, let’s just go back ” I added

“You are so selfish that you care about yourself only ” he said with his hands In his pocket

“What? ”

“You are just the annoying type you use to be, how can you go back home when our lives are in danger ” he yelled at me and i froze

“Did you just yell at me? ” I asked and scoffed angrily

He glared at me before walking out of the room

That pathetic jerk

How dare you yell at me

I closed the room window and walked outside

I saw him standing and starring at the flowers that were planted in front of the hotel

“So where are we going now?” I asked without looking at him

“you are a Liar ” he said and I looked at him

“What? ”

“You told me yesterday night that you won’t avoid eye contact with me ” he said and I turned to him

“Let’s go back home, once we get to the city, go to your house straight and don’t come looking for me for a while ” he said but I continue starring

“What? ” he asked and I sighed

“I’m just surprised, seeing you so calm is still a shock to me” I said and he smiled

I took a step closer to him

“Keith, did you….did you….did you just smile ” I stammered

“Ugh? ” then he noticed there was a smile on his face

“Wow, you just smiled Keith ” I jumped up with excitement

He brought out his phone and took a selfie of himself smiling

“Wow, I smiled ” he said looking at me

“How do I look when I smile? ” he asked again

“You look super-handsome and cute” I smiled and he hug me

“What’s going on? ” I asked with shock

“Thank you so much emerald ” he whispered in my ear

“Many people tried to make me smile and laugh but they couldn’t, you are special Emerald ” he added and I blushed
I’m special
No one ever said that to me

“You are special too” I whispered back

I sat on my bed with tears

I still can’t believe this

Mom why?
Why does it has to be you

I can’t let her and Keith meet right now
“Young master ” Lugard yelled as he ran inside my room and bowed

“What is it this time?” I asked

“Your Dad calls for you ” he said and my eyes widened

“Dad? Is he back from his business trip? ” I asked and he nod

He’s definitely going to ask of Keith

I walked to his room

“I’m here ” I said and looked at mom who was applying make up in front of the mirror

“Where is your brother?” he asked and I stared at the ground

“can’t you hear me? I said where is your brother? ” he asked and started moving to me as I moved backward

“He’s……. ” I didn’t complete my sentence when he slapped me again

Tears gathered in my eyes and I looked at mom

The look on her face was that of anger

“Honey! Why are you treating Kelvin this way? ” mom yelled at him

“Woman! Stay out of this! ” he yelled back

I sniffed back my tears

“He’s………”

“Kelvin! ” I heard Keith’s voice and saw him entering the room

Dang it

“Where have you been! ” Dad yelled at him

“It doesn’t matter anymore, I’m home now!” he replied and Dad walked outside

I just stared at the thin air

“Keith, can you stay outside, I need to talk to your brother ” mom said all friendly and innocent like

I walked outside the house and dialled emerald’s number when I noticed her ringing tone was sounding so close

“Why are you calling? ” I heard her voice behind me and the phone almost fell off my hand

“You scared me! ” I said and she grinned

“I told you not to come out of your house ” I said and she smiled

She looked around and moved closer

“I came to see your face for the last time” she whispered

“Kiss me ” she folded her arms and I scoffed

“I can’t, there are lot of CCTV and guards” I said pointing at them

Her smile turned to a disappointment look

” I guess coming here was a waste of time ” she said

“Bye ” she said and turned to go

I grab her hand and pecked her

“Happy now! ” I said and she smiled

“By the way, how did you come inside? ” I asked her

“I bribed the security”

“what? ”

“Byeee ” she waved and ran out

“Keith ” I heard Kelvin’s voice and I turned to him

“Kelvin i…… ” he moved to me and gave me a punch on the face making me to fall

The guards wanted to run to me but he stopped them

“Stay out of this ” he said to them

“Why are you back? ” he half yelled

“Because I was worried about you ” I said and wanted to stand up but he punched me again

I couldn’t stand up from the floor

“Worry about yourself you jerk , are you a fool ” he said and walked to his car

I ran after him and grab his hand

“Kelvin, what’s wrong ” I asked but he pushed me away and I fell on the floor
Again!

I winced in pain and stood up

“I’m back to where I belong Keith, as from now on, I’m no longer the brother you use to know ” he said and my eyes widened

He was about to enter the car but stopped again

“And as for emerald, don’t start a game you won’t end Keith”
