Chapter 51

Alma.

“No, that would be betrayal! Also, the Instagram page can be seized from you at any time, it would be collected from you when you are leaving the band, hope you know that?” He asked and walked inside his room.

“Oh! I’ll start to build another account , then.” I said and watched him as he packed his luggage.

“No, don’t be like that. That would be rebellion. We all are loyal to Clifford, you should be loyal too.” He said.

“Of course I’m loyal but he’s wicked, why will he fire you just for being in the same room with me. I sleep in his room every night, isn’t that enough?” I asked but Earl only smirked.

After he was done packing his luggage, he stood upright and faced me, “Take care of yourself , Alma and make the band proud.”

As he took steps forward, I spoke out, “I’m following you!”

“Of course , not.” He giggled and turned back at me. “I’m going to my father’s place and he wouldn’t understand why a lady would come to live with me. Just be fine here, dear.”

“No , no! I’ll sleep outside your house then. I’m not sleeping here.” I insisted.

“Alma.” He called and sighed. I looked keenly at him. It’s not fair for Clifford to just fire him like he was absolutely useless to the band.

“You see all of us that are brothers to Clifford? We all have a pivotal role to play. The band will not survive if any of is is absent. He knows this and probably thought he would find a replacement…He might , but I’m sure it will take years.” He said.

“I insist on following you, nevertheless.” I said.

He lowered his head for a while and finally said, “Fine, let’s leave.”

I smiled happily and helped him carry the luggave on his left hand, we began to walk out.

As we appeared at the living room, I saw Clifford, Edwin and David standing.

“Alma, what are you doing? Seems you do not realize that you are under a contract. Did you think you can just act anyhow?” Clifford asked.

“Isn’t Earl under a contract too? Why are you treating him like that? He hasn’t even done anything against the band.” I said.

“Give him back his luggage and go back inside.” Clifford said.

“How can you talk to me like you are my father. What ordersity? I’m poor but I have self respect. Fire me from your band too… or am I abducted already? someone make me understand what’s going on?” I asked.

Edwin whispered into Clifford’s ear. Clifford then whispered back.

“Fine, Earl, you are no longer fired, you can return to your room.” Clifford said.

“Of course not, I’m leaving.” Earl insisted.

“And I’m leaving with him.” I added

Edwin walked to Earl and dragged him to a place, they spoke silently for few minutes and then came back.

“Clifford, don’t ever treat me that way again, you can’t even treat a slave that way. Your last warning, brother.” Earl said and we both walked inside.

  1. That's quite thoughtful of Alma, standing up for Earl but you need to tread softly to avoid unnecessary drama. Nice and interesting story
