Chapter 22

Alma.

I was taking my lunch when I overheard a conversation transpiring between my mom and someone.

I suspended my food and waddled to where she was. She was at the entrance of the house and it looks like there were some people before the house.

She turned at me when she noticed my presence.

“What is the matter, mom?” I questioned.

She opened the door widely and I was stunned to see Clifford and Edwin.

“Did they want something?”I asked my mom.

“I was supposed to be asking you that. This young man claimed she attends the same school that you attend.” She said.

“They do but I have nothing in common with them.” I replied my mom like they were not present.

“How come you did not know the popular Clifford? you mean you don’t listen to my music?” Clifford asked my mom angrily.

My mom gazed at him in surprise and then turned at me.

“Should I inform the cops or you will attend to them?”She asked me.

” You may leave mom,I’ll attend to them.” I said to my mom and she took one more look at Clifford and walked away.

“What did you want in my house this time?” I asked.

“Keep your silly mouth shut, slüt.Have you signed a contract with Stanley’s band?” He asked.

“Am I suppose to answer that? It’s my choice.” I answered.

“Will you answer my question, slut?” He asked angrily.

I wonder why he is asking me such question, he is even trying to intimidate me in my own house, what ordersity.

“Well, I didn’t sign the contract, what about it?” I questioned.

He whispered into the ear of Edwin instead of replying me.

“Well, we want to renew our contract with you, come over and live in the band’s house for another ten days, if we like your skill, we will offer you a long term contract.” Edwin said.

“And why can’t Clifford say that? why the sudden change of mind ,though?” I questioned.

“Will you accept the contract or not?” He asked.

“No, hold your contract, I’ll be successful on my own.” I said.

Clifford whispered into Edwin’s ear again.

“State your price?” Edwin asked.

I did not even think twice before I quickly replied: “Another $300,000.”

Clifford looked at me intensely and then whispered into Edwin’s ear.

“Agreed but you will need to follow us back to the band’s house this moment.” Edwin said.

“Oh! if you can pay now.” I said.

Edwin brought his phone out and after pressing some stuffs , he said; “If you are with your phone, check your account statement and follow us.”

I left them and ran back to my room, I picked my phone that had been on the table and checked my account balance, indeed, I had been credited.

I ran out happily to inform my mom, I told her what would happen afterwards and after few minutes of delebration, she gave me the go ahead to follow Clifford to the band’s house.
