Β βWhereβs my daughter? Where is she?! Where have you taken her?β
Β Mrs. Parker was so shaken with fear as her husband clung to her. He tried so hard to comfort her but to no avail, as their daughter was lying unconscious in the emergency room, and there was nothing they could do.
Β Everything was happening so fast, and the hot air that seemed like a million degrees, wasnβt helping the situation.
Β Chelsea stood weeping at one side while Philip stood beside her, having no idea how things could have gone this way.
Β βChelsea, what really happened back there? How did Tricia get stuck in this kind of situation?β He asked bitterly, as Chelsea looked at him with tearful eyes.
Β βI have no idea, Phil. How was I supposed to know things were going to be this way when she was with a guy I thought she knew.β
Β βA guy?β Philip let go of the wall. βWhat guy are you talking about, Chelsea? And how could you let the two of them be alone?!β
Β βI never knew this would happen. I really had no idea it was going to turn out this way.β
Β βMy God! But, Chelsea. Can you locate this guy whenever you see him?β
Β βI can,β Chelseaβs face lit. βPhil, please tell me Triciaβs going to be okay. I donβt want anything to happen to her. She really shouldnβt be going through all thisβ¦β
Β βYouβre right!β Mrs. Parker made towards them. βWere you the one that brought my daughter here? Why donβt you tell us what happened, young lady? How did my daughter end up in this condition?!β
Β βLucille,β Her husband made to stop her.
Β βNo, Raymond! I have every right to ask!β She rolled two furious eyeballs eyes at Chelsea.
Β βM-Maβamβ¦ Maβam, I had no idea this was going to happen. Please believe me.β
Β βBelieve you?! How am I supposed to believe that when my daughterβs battling with her life right now? Tell me!β Mrs. Parker shot back angrily, as the young girl trembled.
Β βLucille, please,β Mr. Parker got in front of her. βWe canβt be doing this right now. Letβs just pray our daughter gets well.β
Β βBut, Raymond, our daughter is there. Our baby, Raymond! Our only daughter.β She fell into his arms. βI donβt know what would happen if we lose her, Raymond. I really donβt know.β
Β βNothing will happen to our daughter, Lucille. I know whatever sheβs going through right now, sheβd be able to get through it. I know so.β Mr. Parker assured and kissed her lightly on her soft brown hair.
β
Β One week passed and there was still no sign of Tricia waking up or even moving a muscle. Everyone was getting really worried, and James, on the other hand, was no where to be found.
Β Given the descriptions by Chelsea, a search party was led in search of him, and a bounty not left out.
Β Philip was not at rest, either, as he stayed in the hospital, hoping that Tricia would wake up.
Β βPhil, you have to eat,β Chelsea said to him one day.
Β She was getting really worried about him. Sometimes, she would persuade him to eat, only for him to end up giving the same excuse of not having appetite.
Β βDonβt tell me you donβt have appetite this time!β Chelsea spoke angrily. βI mean, how would you feel if Tricia woke up right now and found you not havenβt eaten anything?β She continued, not giving up.
Β Philip sighed, finally looking at her as his hands came loose. βChelsea, I just donβt have appetiteβ¦ okay? Please donβt worry about me.β He said to her and continued. βAnd, gosh. Hiw do you expect me to eat when Tricia has been in there for some days now? I should have been there, Chels. I should have been there to protect her!β He blamed himself.
Β βCome on, Phil. Thereβs no need to do that. No oneβs blaming you for anything.β Chelsea drew closer. βAnd besides, who could have known that something like this was on its way?β
Β βI know but still -β His words felt heavy and he gave a deeo breath. βGosh!β That guy is really going to pay. Heβs going to pay for every pain heβs ever caused Tricia!β He struck his palm and talked through clenched teeth.
Β Chelsea has never seen this kind of rage in him, and she felt scared of what he might do. βPhilip, please calm down. Letβs not get things worse but hope Tricia gets better.β
Β βGets better?β Philip fidgeted. βChelsea, have you seen her? Tricia is in there battling with her life and youβre telling me to calm down?!β
Β βLook. I know what happened to her was really tragic, and I know that very soon, the cops would be able to catch the culprit in no time.β She said with hope.
Β Philip turned to the door and pushed it open gently. He looked inside, catching sight of the bandage wrapped around Triciaβs head, as pain and bitterness swept over him.
Β You shouldnβt be going through this, Tricia. Iβm really sorry youβre going through all this. Please come back to us. Your parents miss youβ¦ Chelsea and I miss you so much. Please donβt give up yet. I know you can defeat whatever thing youβre passing through in there. Please just donβt give up yet. I love you very much. He swallowed in pain, and let go of the handle.
Β He turned to leave as a loud beeping sound came from inside. βTricia?β His eyes widened seeing her body jerk up and down. βTricia?! Nurse! Chelsea, call the nurse!β He shouted in terror, rushing inside.
Β Four nurses came rushing in after, with a man clad in a white coat β and a stethoscope hanging around his neck.
Β The two friends were panic-stricken as one of the nurses ordered them to stay outside.
Β Triciaβs parents had just gone out for lunch, and they were the only ones with her.
Β They had no idea what was going on inside, and was left with no choice but to pray and hope that Tricia would come out alive.
