He smirked a little. Well at least his playful side is back. I hasn’t realised I was smiling at him back until his grin widened and I quickly put my straight face back. We might be doing things right but it still doesn’t change a thing at all.

“So, what do you have in mind?”

He asks the moment I step in.

“I have to go freshen up but you can stay here and wait, I’ll be back.”

He nodded his head and I went indoors to take a quick shower and change my clothes.

After I was done, I went back to the sitting room and he remained in the same position.

“So…”

I trailed off seating opposite him.

“When is the wedding?”

I asked gulping for the fear of his response.

“It was supposed to happen two weeks ago. I’ve been stalling but I don’t know for how much longer.”

I felt a sense of gladness realising he didn’t actually want to get married to her although she’s perfect in every way.

“Alright so according to the agreement you have custody of Justin?”

“Yes, I do.”

“But if you back down she’ll sue you to court.”

“Yes, she will. That’s what I was so afraid of.”

“Well first, you need to get an amazing lawyer. And then, you back out of the wedding and once she sues you, you already have an upper hand.”

“But what if I loose?”

“You won’t. You have the monetary capacity to take of your child and you can bring in the fact that she threatened you. You will win the case..”

He heaved a large sigh clearly frightened. I just love the way he would do anything for his son. It made me see him in a new light. I had no idea when I was rushing to his side hugging him to provide comfort.

“Thank you.”

He whispered with his face buried against the crook of my neck. Maybe this was a bad idea. I felt myself getting tingles from our closeness.

“Don’t let go. Not yet.”

He says like he knew my next action. He hugged me even tighter and I responded. We stayed in that same position for nearly five minutes until he stirred and I had to stand up.

“It’s late. I should probably head home.”

“Right….”

I concord biting my lips so I won’t scream at him to stay with me. He’s going back home to her

He’s back for merely day and already has me caught up with him. I’m an independent woman now so I won’t let myself get drawn in by him. The plan is to get his son back and then I’ll know where I stand with him. Till then, it’s a platonic relationship.

“I’ll be on my way now Lina. Thank you so much. I’ll tell you how it goes tomorrow.”

“Alright then. Goodbye Stefan.”

“Goodbye Lina. It was really nice to see you. I missed you.”

He breathed out staring at me.

“I missed you.”

I responded truthfully.

“Ok…”

He chuckled nervously while I walked towards the door to see him out.

Standing at the door, he glanced at me before slowly brushing his hand against my cheeks before placing a peck on it. His eyes lingered on my lower lips and with the little distance between us it wouldn’t be hard to claim his lips but I waited for him to make the first move and I knew my body would respond even if my mind screams no.

“Bye.”

He whispered once again, turned around and left and I could only think of one thing.

“Why didn’t he kiss me?”
