She breathed in deeply, blinking back tears but didn’t say anything;her head still placed on his chest. He continued,”I was so caught up in my grief that it was two days after you left before I realized you were gone.I was bitter that you didn’t say goodbye but then I realized it was my fault.I was too ashamed to contact you,I didn’t know what to say” “You could have just called.I waited for your call”she whispered. “I’m sorry”he replied, whispering”Some days, the only thing that kept me going was your emojis, the fact that you still cared and watched out for me.You’re my gem,Ify.You’re too precious to me,I’m never letting you leave”. She smiled, that goes for two of them;sometimes she forgot her Igbo name was Ifunanya. She raised her hands that were hanging limply by her side and hugged him back. There was something different about his touch;the way he hugged her;his fingers that caressed the bare skin at her waist;his hot breath that caressed her skin;it felt more…intimate. In that moment, she felt home.
