Entangled – Episode 27

Jonah and Skyler walked back to Edna’s room. She was sitting up when they entered.

” Is it true ?” Edna asked.

” I guess , but something is weird I don’t get it.” Jonah said sitting close to Edna.

” What ?”

” He’s our son.” Jonah said and Edna chuckled.

” How ? We lost our son when he was barely four months old.” Edna said.

” The doctor confirmed it.” Skyler said and sat down.

” I still don’t get it.” Edna said.

” I was a blood donor for him. They doctor ran a DNA test and it was positive, I’m his father.” Jonah said.

” This is unbelievable.. my son is alive ?” Edna questioned.

” I’m still confused.”

” He told me his birth mom is dead. They grew up in the same foster home and his dad was a criminal.” Skyler said.

” We need to see him.” Edna said.

” You should lay back, you’re not strong enough. Just stay here while I talk to him.” Jonah said.

” You should lie down mom.” Skyler said and followed Jonah out.

I was a bit conscious , I sat up with the guys who assisted me .

” Where’s Skyler ?” I asked.

” She’s fine.. must be with her dad.” They said.

” Her dad ?” I asked confused.

Just then they walked in , Skyler and Jonah.

” What happened ?” I asked looking at Selene and the others.

” You were shot and you actually died but I don’t know how it happened you came back and Skyler’s dad was your donor.” Selene narrated.

” Donor ?” I asked confused.

” Yes a blood donor.” Skyler replied.

I looked at her eyes and smiled. I turned to look at Jonah who was a bit sober.

” So ?” I asked.

” We needed to talk to you about something.” Skyler began.

The doctor walked in and smiled at me.

” You’re awake.. thanks to your friends , they were true friends..” the doctor said.

” Especially Selene , she suggested we prayed.” Thando said and I chuckled.

” Alright..” I said and rolled my eyes.

” Your governor Jonah was your blood donor..” the doctor began.

” He gave his blood to you and we saw something , the DNA results shows that Jonah is your father.” The doctor said.

” What !” I exclaimed including the others.

” How ? That can’t be true. ”

” It is. We thought about running another DNA test in another lab and it shows the same result. He’s your father.” The doctor said.

” I don’t have a father. Sky can’t be my sister. What about us ? Our plans ? ” I asked referring to Skyler.

” I’m not your sister , I was adopted.” She said.

I couldn’t say a word including the others . They were baffled.

” I don’t get it.”

” It’s a long story.” Jonah said.

” I can’t be your son. My mom said my father is dead. Don’t try to claim ownership of what’s not yours.” I said.

” Angelino, Jonah is your father. Tests don’t lie.” The doctor said.

” And my wife is your mother.” Jonah said.

” I don’t get it , what about my mom ? The woman who brought me up in the orphanage ? ” I asked.

” Maybe she’s not your real mom. ” Selene said.

” What on Earth was I doing in a foster home ?” I asked.

” You were kidnapped by gun men who sell human parts. We thought they killed you , I guess they brought you to cape Town and they couldn’t take your life.” Jonah said.

I chuckled deeply and frowned.

” Look lino it’s no big deal. At least he won’t be able to destroy our home again. Your dad’s a governor and your life’s dope now. You don’t need to think about it , it’s no big deal okay..” Thando said and I sighed.

” I can’t live to believe that. I can’t. I need to visit the orphanage.” I said and lay down.

” Maybe we should live him alone.” The doctor said.

” Alright..” they said proceeding to leave.

” Skyler should stay behind please.” I said.

They sighed and left one after the other. Skyler closed the door of my ward and sit close to me.

” How are you feeling ?” She asked and I sat up.

” You cried a lot. Look at your eyes..” I said touching her lashes.

” I guess. I thought I’ve lost you ” she said and chuckled.

” Angels don’t die.” I said softly and smiled at her.

” And I believe that..” she said.

We were quiet for a while before I finally broke the silence.

” So how come they are not your parents ?” I asked her.

” It’s weird. My mom was my adopted mother’s friend. They were kinda broke then when they gave birth to you. But you were kidnapped and taken away. Your mother took me since my Mom was her friend. My birth father was a criminal who abused my mom , I guess she was raped that was how I was conceived. They thought they’ve lost you but look at you, you’re back..” Skyler said and giggles.

” I don’t want them.” I said.

” You do. We all need our parents. But it’s gonna be strange. He was your worst nightmare.” Skyler said and I chuckled.

” I’m not a kid I’m not gonna leave with him. Maybe you’re gonna stay with me , what do you think ?” I ask and smiled into her eyes.

” f**k you.” She said and giggles.

We became mute as we stare at each other for a while.

” Thank God you came back. I can’t even imagine my life without you.” She said and hugged me.

” It would be useless , cause you’re all that matters to me.” She said still embracing me.

” I missed you.” I said and hugged her tightly.

” Are you still feeling any pain ?” Skyler ask.

” Yeah a bit.” I replied touching my stomach slightly.

” Sorry about that.” She said.

” Lorah wasn’t pregnant as claimed.” Skyler said.

” What ?”

” Yeah , she framed up the test results because she wanted you badly she decided to go that far.”

” Where’s she ?” I asked.

” I don’t even know.”

” It doesn’t matter that much , what matters is that you’re back fully and no one’s is gonna haunt you anymore..” Skyler said and smiled.

” I guess..”

I kissed her and she returned the kiss.

” You’re not supposed to kiss a girl , you’re a bit sick.” She said with her lips a bit close to mine.

” So who said that ?” I asked her and looked into her eyes.

She chuckled and kissed me. I didn’t hesitate to return the kiss.

I was discharged after two weeks. We visited the orphanage that weekend. I saw Marian she was in charge of the orphanage.

” Angelino..” she called and embraced me.

” Woah look at you guys. Selene , Alex and the stubborn one Thando. You guys are so welcome. What a pleasant visit.” She said.

” Welcome my governor. And the little miss Skyler.” She said turning to Skyler and Jonah.

” We should go to my office.” Marian said leading the way.

We arrived at her office and sat down.

” What do I owe this visit ?” Marian asked sitting down.

She barely age , still looking fragile.

” I wanted to ask about my late mom.” I said.

” Abigail was a nice woman. I hope all is well ?”

” Yes, we found out she’s not his biological mother.” Jonah said

” Well it’s true.”

” How come nobody told me ?” I asked.

” You won’t understand. Like she explained the day they brought you here , she said a man gave you to her. He explained further that they kidnap you to do justice to you but he was scared and guilty. He was also stained with blood. He gave you to Abigail to bring to the orphanage , Abigail was a nanny who takes good care of the kids. she decided to keep you as her son. ” Marian explained.

” God.” I said standing up and walked out.

That’s the dumbest thing I’ve heard. I can’t believe I’ve been Jonah’s son all this while. I felt a hand touched me , I could feel her I knew it was Skyler.

” You need to accept destiny.” She said holding me from behind.

” To be Jonah’s son ?”

” Yeah. He’s your blood. I guess everything happens for a reason. They might have wronged you in different ways but it’s still doesn’t change the fact that they are your parents.” Skyler said still holding me from behind.

I was mute. I don’t know what to say. I sighed and hold Skyler’s hands making her turn to look at me.

” You won’t leave me right ?” She asked.

” I’m not going anywhere.”
