Entangled – Episode 23

Well I kinda moved on, but not a better move on cause most times I find myself thinking about Skyler. I avoided Laura , she was always trying to be around. We fought and fought over countless issues.

” Hey guys have you seen this ?” Selene asked one day holding a newspaper.

” What ?” We asked.

” Jonah is buying the entire south of western cape.” She said.

” Buying ? I mean how ? Who’s he paying the money to ?” Alex asked.

” No one in particular. Read the headline. ‘ Governor Jonah Roxcell is building a new civilization at the south of western cape.’ jeez you know the fuckin part, he’s moving everyone out.” Selene said.

” I still don’t get it. What is he doing with the south ?” I asked.

” Building a civilization. Like a factory , industries , hospital, hotels and it’s for his benefits.” Selene said.

” That can’t be true.” Alex said.

” Papers don’t lie.” Selene said.

I sighed and sat down including the others.

” This can’t happen. What about the huge population here. This is worse than slave trade.” I said.

” He won’t dare. Who the f**k does he think he is ?” Thando ask.

” He’s your governor.” Alex said.

We kept quiet for a while as Selene got up picking the TV remote control. She tune the channels endlessly without an aim.

” What are you doing ?”

” I need to watch the news. He has to say something to the media.” Selene said and continued tuning.

She stopped and turned to us increasing the volume of the TV.

Jonah was on set.

” My decision was to favor the whole of western cape.” He began.

” The south is filled with miserable youths, like thieves , drug addicts, rapist, thugs and prostitutes, including smugglers. The wrong activities going around in the south is about destroying the good reputation of cape town. We need improvement and empowerment. That’s the reason I came up with this improvement, the jobless youths need to move out of the south and look for a job in other to meet up with the daily activities in life. Prince Albert Is making the youths miserable and useless , they don’t want to work for themselves anymore.. they still think they are in the regime of falling manna . This is Jonah’s reign and i won’t watch youth waste away….”

” Look at his face , he looks like his horrible daughter.” Thando said and scoff.

” Shut up.” Selene cut in.

” What is wrong with him ?” Alex asked.

” Guys , listen…” Selene cut in.

” In two weeks time the work began. I’m pulling down the buildings in the south to start my investment. I guess two weeks is enough for the miserable youths to move out of their various houses and move else where. I don’t really care where on Earth they will live but I want them to stay away from the south. Any youth who refused to leave will be shot or arrested…”

” f**k.” They exclaimed.

” Jonah is looking for war.” Alex said.

” He can’t destroy people’s lives because of his selfish interest.” Selene said.

” We need a riot. Where are we gonna move to ?” Thando asked.

” The moving isn’t the problem. We can possibly move to montagu , the problem is what about the others. So many were born and raised in here. They don’t even have a job. Jonah is just a m******** .” I said.

” Like is miserable daughter..” Thando said pissed.

” You seriously hate Skyler.” Selene said and sat down.

” Yeah he does..” I said.

” Low that sh*t down.” Thando said referring to the tv.

” Someone needs to kidnap Skyler , and that will be me.” Thando said storming out.

” This sh*t is crazy.” I said and walked out .

The town was really scattered, it seems they heard the news.

” God.” I whispered.

I was in my balcony staring at the crowd.

” Skyler really need to stay away from here.” I said.

” I guess. That’s the worst decision he could ever make . Look at this people, they are willing to fight for justice.” Selene said and I sighed.

” I even heard he’s building a mansion here.”

” They will haunt him down if he’s not careful. We need a riot.” Selene said.

” That riot will ki*ll souls.” I said and sighed.

” What are we gonna do ?”

” I don’t know. Move out. I mean are you willing to fight against the government. Who can ? who will ?” I asked.

” Move out ?” Selene asked staring at me.

I sighed and remained quiet.

” What are you going to do about skyler ?” Selene asked.

” I don’t know.” I replied softly.

” If i were to advise you , you really need to stay away from her. This is a wrong time for any romance talk. She should stay away from you.” Selene said.

” I still love her.”

” I know, but your life is more precious.” Selene said and I smiled.

” Thanks.”

” Cool.” She said and exhale loudly.

I stare down at the people who was busy shouting and screaming. Who’s willing to move out just like that. Jonah has pushed everyone to the edge.

I thought about Skyler , the only girl who made me realize every man is not bigger than love. I sighed continually and finally took a deep breath.

” Dad you can’t do that to them. You can’t just ki*ll this people because of your selfish interest.” Skyler yelled.

” Sky don’t let me get angry at you . You’re my daughter doesn’t mean you can stand against my instructions. Stay out of this.”

” I won’t . You’re definitely going to regret this.”

” I get it. So it’s because of that douchebag ? Skyler becareful, you’re trying to put him in danger and i won’t hesitate to take his life.” Jonah yelled back.

” Dad you won’t do that, leave him alone. He is not your problem , you ask me to stay away from him and I have. Forcing me to Justin won’t give you billions.” Skyler talked back.

” Honey what’s going on ?” Edna asked walking into their discussion.

” You should talk to this nonsense you called a child. Warn her or else I won’t hesitate to ki*ll that boy.” Jonah said and stormed out.

” Sky.” Edna called touching Skyler’s shoulders.

” Just leave me alone.” Skyler said pushing her mom’s hand away.

” You are hurting yourself, no matter the troubles you make , that boy will never be yours cause I will not bless your relationship including your father. Justin has always been your true love , you were head over heals in love with him. This migration is causing a lot of troubles and you’ll regret it.”

” I don’t love Justin. He’s the worst thing that can ever happen to anyone. Don’t force me against my wish , I rather remain single than date that bas***d that calls himself Justin. He should learn to understand I’m not meant for him, let him leave me alone. What ever agreements you made with Richard Bart’s should possibly end. I’m fuckin tired…” Skyler said and stormed out.

I was at the lake that evening thinking about myself. The town has turn into something else , youths were going wild and souls were being abused.

I felt someone’s presence that evening, I turned around and saw Skyler staring at me a bit far from where I was. She was wearing a scarf and staring at me coldly. I walked to her as she embraced me tightly.

I held her tight and caress her hair, I so missed her. I released her and she sob silently. We embraced again and i kissed her hair.

” I’m sorry.” She said.

” I’m sorry too.” I whispered to her ears.

” I missed you.” She said and released me.

” I guess I did too.” I said.

She placed her hands on my shoulders and wanted to kiss me when I stopped her.

” You shouldn’t be here.” I said.

” Yeah , that’s why I took the cab and carried my scarf.” She said.

” You’re not scared ?”

” I wanted to see you. I missed you. I’m sorry for not listening to you , I missed you a lot.” She said and kissed me.

I kissed her back and hold her tight.

” I was drugged.” I whispered holding her.

” Yeah I know. Selene told me.” She said.

” So what are you gonna do about her ?”

” I don’t know.” I said.

” Don’t worry , we’ll take care of the child together. I’ll always be there for you.” Skyler said and kissed me on the cheek.

” If I give you a son I’ll name him Angelino.” She said and smiled proudly.

” Really ?”

” Yeah. I love it. What inspired your mom to give you that name ?” She asked.

I chuckled and smiled.

” I don’t know. Maybe my smile.”

” I guess. And the meaning ?”

” Falling angel.” I replied.

” So you’re my falling angel huh ?”

I smiled and shrugged.

Skyler Chuckled and hugged me again.

I just wished she never go away.

” You shouldn’t come here again. It’s not safe for you. Some people are trying to kidnap you over your dad’s greedy decision.” I said.

” Yeah. It’s really crazy. I talked to him. Are you moving out ?”

” I don’t know. The guys are not willing to leave. Our lives lies here. Your dad needs to think twice.” I said.

” I’m still talking to him. I want you to leave , I’m not ready to loose you.”

” You won’t loose me.” I said and smiled at her.

She smiled back and kissed me , i returned the kiss and continued kissing.
