Life – Part 1

Life is not a bed of roses they say. But it is also not a slab of rock. So then what exactly is life or can be used to describe life? It tosses you anywhere it wants, it can never be predicted. Just like the case of a phoenix and fire, life uses one of its greatest tools ‘fate” against man.

Fate itself cannot be decided by man but still man can twist the winds of fate to suit his course.

Man being a free moral agent has the power of making his own decisions but everything comes with a price so does this power given to man have. The cost of this is sometimes very grave and leads to destruction, because man will always be man i.e vulnerable, weak and prone to different challenges, these attributes of man make him just like a city without defense, thus affecting his decisions most of the times

In life, man always tries hard to cover up his misdeeds with various excus3s and one of such excuses is that nothing is good or evil.

Though this may seem very wrong to many but it is also right in its own way because nothing, no matter how bad it seems is totally bad . For in every bad man does there is always an iota of good deed in it and also in every good man does there is always a bad in, (the yin yan explains this).

Many say that there is nothing good or bad that it is only human thinking that makes it so, but it is not always so in all cases because sometimes a decision or action might be taken for the good of the society at large and in the end it destroys that it was intended to renew.

However in the case of survival man must always do that which gives him a better chance of survival, because in such a situation man is not offered much option, time and authority to decide rightly.

Many things contribute to man’s vulnerability, some of which are ;

  • GREED
  • LUST
  • FREEDOM
  • STUBBORNNESS

Starting with greed this is a bit different from lust because in this case you have something in excess yet you still lust after it you want more of it. This has been affecting man for a very long time, because men always want to prove their supremacy over each other they usually try outdoing each other in various aspects of life, they go to the extreme most times ,they do different daring things, take desperate steps and most times ki*ll ,maim each other in their lust| greed for power.

Even the religious setting is not spared from this. Take the church for example, though it is generally termed the body of Christ, yet there is competition among various denominations. Though they preach the same gospel, they still compete for supremacy amongst each other. This form of competition has led to various things some of which are;

  • Modification of some biblical doctrines by some individuals.
  • Some have gone to the extent of adding voodoo increase their members through signs and wonders they perform.
  • Some have turned their church to fashion houses where people only come to, to show their latest designer dresses and to pride over others, thereby resulting in people deviating from their faith.

Lust is an unbridled, excessive want for something or someone. Generally lust is what leads to greed, because once a man gets what he wants, he is never satisfied with it ,he will always want more and will go to any extent to get it again. Man lusts after various things some of which are Power, Wealth, Sex e.t.c.
Lust leads man to doing a lot of things, in order to satisfy his lust most times man goes to extreme extents, damning the consequences of his actions. Not minding the pain he has caused others, not minding destroying anything or anyone in his way. Lust if not controlled early enough leads to unimaginable destruction, pain, loss.

It leads to pain, which leads to anger, which if left unchecked leads to vengeance.
