” Welcome Mr Schmitt “My Butler greeted as I walked in silently .

” Get my stuff from the car . I’m not around to anyone that comes looking for me ” I said and she gave a nod immediately .

I walked into my room and lay down on the bed weakly . After taking a nap for about an hour , I freshened up and changed into new clothes .

” With the way you’re going I’m beginning to think you want to end your life and business ” I heard a familiar voice that had a weak smile appearing on my lips .

” Penny “I muttured under my breath as she stared at me in amusement .

” You look terrible . Tell me it has nothing to do with the fact that you got dumped my the Nigerian woman ” she said as she Catwalked close to me and pecked me on my cheek very close to my lower lip .

” Penny … I am stressed out ” I said and she smiled .

” How did you even get the news of my arrival “I asked and she raised her eyebrows .

” I am the eyes of the Delgado’s . You ask funny questions you know ” she said rolling her eyes.

” Tega doesn’t want me, I figured it was best I came back to Paris and get my sh! t together ” I said calmly .

” I am here to help you forget you know ” she said and I raised my eyebrows .

” Penny your gender has ruined me , I think I should focus on my business instead ” I said and she laughed .

” My mission was postponed , so I have all the time in the world to keep you company . Let’s spend the whole day together ” she said excitedly and I chuckled at her sweetness

” I need to have breakfast I am starving “I said and she laughed as I walked towards the kitchen.

” What do you have maids for when you don’t even let them cook for you ? ” She asked teasingly.

” They need the job , besides I like to make the food myself ” I said and went ahead to make breakfast for two .

We ate together and penny took my pancakes , then started eating everything on my plate instead.

” Really ? “I asked trying not to laugh.

” You just got your heart broken you should be sulking you know “she said playfully .

” Seriously ! ”

” Yes, you should be on the bed crying your heart out with a heartbreak song to set the mood ” she said and I burst out laughing .

” You are definitely crazy Penelope . Let’s go get your stuff from the car ” I said as I stood up from my chair .

” I am still eating , besides how did you know I have my things outside ? ” She asked frowning .

” Penny you have the habit of storming my place uninvited I am already used to it . ” I said and she gasp.

” Are you indirectly calling me an uninvited guest ? ” She asked with both hands on her waist .

” You are uninvited “I said smirking and she threw a spoon at me which I caught immediately .

” I am going back this minute ” she said and I raised my eyebrows in amusement .

” You mean a lot to me penny . You’re my person “i said and she smiled .

” Go get the stuffs yourself ” she said grinning from ear to ear .

” Wait what ? ” I asked and she Smirked.”

” I am your person ” she said and I bit my lower lip .

” I will be right back “I said and walked outside to get her things from the car .

My phone rang and I brought it out immediately . I sighed softly when I realized it was my mom .

” What is it “I said immediately I picked the call .

” Son I heard you are in Paris “she said and I could clearly hear the hope in her voice .

” You heard well , but I don’t think I want to entertain any visitors “I said and she fell silent on the other end.

” Pierre I am sick . I dont even Know how much time I have left . You don’t deserve any of this but I want to make amends , I want to get to be a mother to my son ” she said and I stood frozen on the spot .

” I miss you son , I have realized how much I hurt you . Please let me be the mother you never had “she said crying .

” I. .. I need to go ” i said and ended the call . All the hurt I felt from Tega’s rejection came rushing back .

I asked the guards to get her things in as I walked back into the house and straight to my room .

” Pierre “I could hear her call from behind but I just needed to be alone for a while . My heart felt too heavy .

” Hey what’s wrong ? “She asked sitting on my laps as her hands went to my face making my eyes meet hers .

” Your eyes are full of tears . What is wrong ? Is it about Tega ? “She asked and I bit my lower lip.

” I…. ” I opened my mouth to say something but my throat burned with hurt and my words failed me .

” Hey , whatever it his you are going to pass through it like the boss that you are . You are a good man Pierre and trust me you will overcome this “she said smiling .

My hands went over to her waist pulling her into a hug as tears rolled out of my eyes .

Why is my life so complicated .

Everything in my life has taken a turn for the worse . I haven’t been myself since I hurt Pierre and pushed him away .

 

My nights are hunted by thoughts of him and it has barely been a week . Imani wouldn’t speak to me and Avy is out of the country .

 

It doesn’t help the fact that chief knows my address , he fvcking sends me flowers that ruins my mood immediately I see them .

 

I just need to speak to someone before I loose my mind.

 

My phone rang and I picked it up immediately and sighed when I realized it wasn’t who I expected it to be .

 

I can’t believe I have been waiting for Pierre to text or at least call me .

 

” You hurt the guy and expect him to call you . Who are you “my mind mocked and I rubbed my forehead in guilt .

 

The buzz from my phone had me checking the caller ID to see who it was .

 

” Zuri “I muttered under my breath as a small smile formed on my face . Imani’s energetic older sister must have heard about our fight .

 

” Heyyyyyy”I said and bit my lower lip expecting her reaction .

 

” I am in my house and expecting you in 20 mins . Don’t you dare give me escuses “she said and I sighed softly .

 

” I wouldn’t dare ” I said and she ended the call .

 

I got to her place in a cab because I wasn’t in the right state of mind to actually drive .

 

” Why the fvck do you look like a woman that has been chased from her husband’s house ” she asked and my jaws literally dropped.

 

” Zuri that is mean ” I said and she laughed .

 

” So heard you got your first official heartbreak ” she said playfully.

 

” I decided to hurt myself . It’s not like the guy even hurt me ” i said in frustration .

 

I miss the French guy so bad.

 

” You wanted to act all super woman right ? Even going as far as fighting with your bestfriend . That’s crazy ” she said and I bit my Lower lip as my eyes stung with tears .

 

” Zuri I am just frustrated . “I said as tears rolled out of my eyes.

 

” What’s wrong ? Why can’t you give what you both have a chance ! “She asked as she stared at me calmly.

” Jeez. No pierre is far from that I mean I can’t even match his pace when it comes to sexual stuff. He is crazy ” i said and my body reacted at the mention of his name. It reminded me of the things he used to do to me.

” I know you used to have an affair with chief . Trust me I have known since you guys were in school “she said and my eyes widened .

” Remember the first time you slept at my place during my boyfriend’s birthday party ? Way back when you girls were in uni ” she said and I cursed under my breath .

 

” My phone didn’t get missing ? You had it on purpose “I said as I remembered the fact that we were looking for my phone that night .

 

” I saw the messages . The alerts , his threats and everything . I wanted to ask questions but I didn’t . We know what you are going through Tega . Trust me we want you to get passed all of this it’s getting too much on you “she said and I froze .

” We ? ” I asked trying not to pannick.

” Avy and I already know about Chief “I heard her voice and froze on the spot .
