I woke the next morning with a banging headache . Getting off from the bed I went straight into the bathroom to take a shower . Memories from the previous night graced my mind . Penny met an old friend and decided to do some catching up . I remember having two more bottles meeting Tega and the ride back home.

 

I Cursed under my breath as I rubbed my arms tiredly . If she was thinking of giving my proposal a second thought I’m preety sure that is no longer in her mind after meeting me like that last night .

 

Today is the wedding and I’m not even in the venue yet. I Freshened up quickly and changed into casuals . When I got downstairs I was met the fresh smell of pancakes. My eyebrows raised in shock and jaws literally dropped as she walked out of my kitchen clad in my loose sleeve shirt . She looked really beautiful and seeing her like that warmed my heart immediately .

 

” Good morning mon Cheri “I said and she placed the plate on the table .

 

” Good morning Mr Pierre and thanks for ruining my night yesterday .I could barely sleep because I was uncomfortable . You shouldn’t have so much alcohol in your system if you have low tolerance”she scolded me disappointedly. Non of that got into my brain because I was more interested in the fact that she was wearing my cloth and slept over at my house ,even made breakfast .

 

” You made breakfast”I said and I could see she felt uncomfortable with the conversation .

 

” I had no other choice. I’m hungry “she said sitting down on the chair opposite me. My eyes met with her full molds on her chest peaking through the fabric of my shirt and I looked away that seem to marvel her as she raised her eyebrows in amusement and Laughed.

 

” What’s wrong ?”I asked and she Smirked as she leaned close .

 

” You really want to be a gentleman right now after leaving me in a position where I could barely use my legs . Pierre you’ve already seen me naked what’s the fuss ? “She asked and my cheeks heated up immediately .I’m pretty sure my whole face is red right now .

 

” Are you blushing ? “She asked and I shook my head .

 

” No . I’m not blushing “I denied immediately and she laughed at my expense.

 

” Don’t even think of drunk driving next time. If I wasn’t with you last night you would have considered driving in that condition that’s craziness”she said and I gave a nod in agreement .

 

” I’m sorry for the inconveniences “I said and she picked on her food .

 

” At least your Spanish girlfriend should be careful enough to take care of you “She said frowning and I swear I heard the pang of jealousy in her voice .

 

” Girlfriend ? “I asked In amusement .

 

” What’s her name again ? Perla ? Pipper penny ? “She asked and I chuckled softly.

 

” Penelope is a good friend” i said and I don’t even understand why I was explaining to this dark skinned woman in front of me .

 

” I did not ask “she said and I chuckled.

 

” I don’t need your truthful answer to get the answers I want Tega . I know you’re interested in me as much as I am interested in you .so what’s with the attitude ? “I asked and she raised her eyebrows.

 

” Then you must be getting it wrong . I agree you know your way around the bedroom and I agree you’re the best man I’ve been with. But that doesn’t make you special in anyway ” she bursted out getting all defensive.

 

” You’re getting defensive again “I muttured under my breath camly .

 

” You can’t seat there and say something you know nothing about Pierre . “She spat angrily.

 

” Why didn’t you leave me at the venue. Or better still get penny or Adonis to help me . Bringing me to my house wasn’t necessary ” I said knowing fully well that I was annoying her with each word .

 

” So na de thank you be dis abi ? { So this is the thank you ? }”She spat out something in pigin .

 

” I do not understand a word you just said ” I said camly .

 

” Fvck you Pierre “she cursed under her breath as she stood up immediately.

 

” You get angrily easily it’s not healthy for a woman Tega . There’s nothing to be ashamed of. I also have a soft spot for you and although I have my own flaws which I’m not proud of .I admit it that this chemistry is pretty obvious to me. ” I said and she looked at me in disbelief.

 

” Chemistry ? Are you for real right now Pierre ? I fvcking had no chemistry in mind when I rode you like my life depended on it ! “She said and I froze on my seat.

 

” It’s not appropriate for a woman to speak that way …” I trailed .

 

” Why ? You can’t handle it ?You can’t handle the fact that you were just a night stand ? What’s with men and their ego ? . It’s okay to tell a woman that their not interested after a night and when it’s the other way around you can’t face rejection ? “She asked mockingly.

 

I didn’t say anything to that and she stared at me getting infuriated by the minute . I didn’t have the strength to exchange words with her anyways . I leaned on my chair and Smirked in her direction.

 

” Really Pierre ? “She asked as she went upstairs and came downstairs with her purse from the previous night .

 

” See you at the wedding madimodelle “I said and she turned to and gave me the fvck you sign .

 

” I already did sweetheart and I’m looking forward to the next time it will happen”I said camly and just like that a cushion landed on my head .I laughed when I realized she threw it on me on her way out .

 

This woman is crazy .

” Thank God Imani and leonardo are getting married today . Let him go to his country . Arrogant obnoxious peacock” I muttered under my breath in anger .

 

I went straight to the wedding venue to make last minute checkups to make sure everything was under control .

 

” Oghenetega my child . Thank you so much dear I’m so happy this is finally coming through … “imani’s mom said emotionally as she pull me in a hug .

 

” It lovely as always Tegs. You’re good at what you do ” Zuri imani’s older sister said and hugged me too .

 

” I can’t wait for you to the knot soon too Tega dear . I’m so proud of the successful woman you have become . I believe you will be starting a family of your own soon . I can sense it “she said and I froze while Zuri coughed teasingly.

 

” You better stop that Wayo { fake } cough before I choke you with my hands ” her mom said and she burst out laughing.

 

I went over to the kitchen to check on Pierre’s team . Uriel assured me they had everything under control and I heigved a sigh of relief.

 

” Guys it’s time for the wedding” I said getting into Imani’s room . I was suprised to see everyone present in her room .

 

” I’m proud you , I’m glad I’m gonna be here on your big day ” I said when I got close to her and she pulled me into her arms. Making my eyes stung with tears . My bestfriend made a beautiful bride .

 

” Open up Tegs ,it’s high time you heal ‘” Imani whispered and I froze in her arms .

 

” That’s the best wedding gift you could give to me ” she said and I bit my lower lip . I might not have told anyone anything but my friends had an hint.

 

” Girls ” her mom called from the other side. We got to the venue and Imani looked really emotional too ,by the time she got to where the Spanish man stood patiently. He extended an hand to her they made their way to the priest .

 

“Today we have gathered here to witness the joining together of two souls …” The priest began the sermon. My eyes scanned the crowd and froze when they met with the Frenchman holding leonardo’s mom sweetly . I’ve noticed he treats her like his own biological mother .

 

” You may now exchange your vows ” the priest said with a smile on his face .

 

” Imani …”He began emotionally.

 

” My safe haven ,my peace….the love of my life . The woman that completes me . Today in presence of God and these people ,,I promise to support you ,to listen to you with an open heart .I promise to be your partner in growth . I promise to love and understand you . Today I give you my heart my heart and life ,and to be by your side till death do us part .” He said and put the wedding band on her fingers .

 

The crowd cheered excitedly as she sniffed back tears .

 

” Sweet ” she called in between her tears .his eyes eyes stung with tears immediately he heard her shaky voice .

 

” I ….” She opened mouth to talk and tears gushed out of her eyes . Imani has always been a cry baby but this scene is also getting me emotional.

 

” I always thought it will be difficult to find someone who could understand me ,my craziness and my temper … and the fact that I had a lot of insecurities ..as to why I shouldn’t date . But you proved me wrong leonardo …you are the sweetest gift God gave me .”

 

” In this journey of life ,I promise you true companionship. The road might not be easy ,but together we will ride . I promise to

 

to laugh with you and cry with you. I promise to understand your anger and sadness ,I promise to grow with you as we walk this journey from beginning to the end .” She said and tears rolled out of my eyes as she wore him the ring .

 

” I love you lee ” she muttered under her breath.

 

” I love you sweetheart”

 

” You may now kiss the bride ” the priest said and the crowd. crowd cheered excitedly as their lips met in a beautiful kiss sealing their vows.

the crowd chant in unison .

 

” You may now kiss the groom ” the priest said and imani Laughed against his lips as they kissed . I have never been a fan of weddings but this felt so heartwarming that I had to wipe the tears that rolled out of my eyes over and over again .

 

Someone handed me white handkerchief and I took it then raised my eyebrows when I realized it was Pierre’s fvck mate .

 

” I’m penny by the way. Been wanting to see you for a while now “she said smiling and I wanted to feel her smile was nothing but fake but it didn’t come . She didn’t hoose fake energy.

 

” Tega Williams”I said and extended my hand for a shake . Suprisingly the woman pulled me into a warm hug .

 

“Now I see why Pierre is crazy about you ” she gushed excitedly while gesturing towards how I looked in the dress and I blushed .

 

” He’s just being dramatic”I said and she raised her eyebrows.

 

” Nah .I’ve been sleeping with that guy . It’s been off and on but trust me it goes way beyond lust when it comes to you “she said and I hated the fact that I did not feel good about him touching another woman. The mental picture made me sick . It’s not that I want him or anything I just…

 

” I know you feel we have something going on . But nah ,I’m just the touch type when it comes to Pierre nothing serious we haven’t even done anything sexual since he met you..”she said and I moved backwards creating space between us .

 

” Penny I don’t care what you do with Pierre . Trust me whatever we had was a one night thing . ” I said and she raised her eyebrows.

 

” Is that really you speaking or pride ? ” She raised her eyebrows.

 

” Escuse me ?” I muttured under my breath .

 

” I like Pierre you know. I’ve always liked him but then I feel I’m too broken for the guy but that doesn’t change the fact that I stepped back because I sensed the chemistry between you two . Don’t play games with him Tega make your decision if you’re in or out with him because if he comes to my bed …it would take a lot of time stress and energy to take him back ” she said smiling sweetly but that sent chills through my spine .

 

” Nice wedding by the way ” she complimented me and catwalked into wedding like she hadn’t done anything to shock the living day lights out of me .
