Chapter 34
Luciano’s POV
After today’s work, I decided to attend a little party one of my business partner held at his house. He had invited me, though, it wasn’t in my interest, but due to the fact that he pesters too much, I had to attend. The party ended pretty late, I was to give a closing speech, so I had to wait till the end…else I would have find my way out of those nosy crowd of people.

On getting home, I pulled out my laptop to reply few emails I had ignored back at office, making sure every reply sent is worth it, before visiting the bathroom. I needed a warm shower, which I took, calming each muscles in my nerves.

Not bothering to clean dry, I wrap the towel on my waist, getting out of the bathroom only to hear a soft gasp from someone. My eyes went wide seeing someone in my room, this is against the policy, no member of my workers dare enter this place without my consent. I was about lashing out my anger when I saw her face clearly. It’s Angel’s Nanny …I will only let this slide because she is new here..but not without severe warnings.

“What are you doing here?” I asked. And just as if she was brought back to life, she looked at my face and hurriedly look away, covering her eyes with her palms, backing me swiftly.

“I…I’m sorry boss…really sorry…I will just stay this way till you finish” she replied, hastenly. I scoff, wondering where I got such a clumsy human being from. She could have just go out instead. And why is she here in the first place? I thought, before realizing that I had asked her to see me this evening..opss.

I walked into my closest to wear my pajama, hoping to meet her gone when I get back, but she still stood in same position.
“Turn around” I voiced out coldly. She turned gently. “Open your eyes” I added, which she agrees to, sighing. She licked her lips..f**k
“I’m sorry sir…I didn’t mean to barge in on you”

“You could have just knocked…” She was about speaking but I beat her to it. “Look Nanny, no one is expected to step into this room without my consent, you are only gonna escape this punishment because you are new here…get that..don’t enter my room without my permission. The only person in this building that has that right is Angel..no one else” I warned. She gulped in, clamping her palms together. “Yes sir”
“Good..now come with me”

Babe’s POV
I followed him out, just as he had ordered. Gawd, I couldn’t feel my legs, the way he spoke earlier made me quite unstable. I didn’t barge in intentionally, I had knocked, perhaps he didn’t hear, and whereas, why wouldn’t he allow anyone into his rooms. These thought pondered in my heart as we made our way to another room..this look like a library..or should I call it his study. Perhaps.

“Have your seat” he noted, pointing towards one of the seats available, facing a table. He took the other opposite me, bringing out a file from the drawer, alongside a pen. He placed his two hands on the table, making a clicking sound with his finger as it meets with the wooden table.
“Miss… Collins..” he called out. I gulped in, hesitating a bit before giving a reply

“Sir” “So i believe it’s already a week since you started working here, and I haven’t really had the time to have this discussion with you” he noted, staring deeply at me. I waited for him to continue

“Actually, before getting a job like this, there is something we call contract, which you are to sign for any agreement made” he added
“You want me to sign a contract..for this many job?” I asked, puzzled. He nodded. “Yes”

I scoff. “But…but why..cos I have already started working..I should have done that before starting the job”
He shrugged. “That’s because I was in a haste to get my daughter a nanny, but as culture demands, this is the way I run it, any worker in my mansion is bounded by a contract”

I sighed. “How many years is it…” I asked. He pushed the paper forward to me.. “It will be best you read it yourself, and give me a reply..look, it’s just gonna be for one year, for now..and if you wish to continue working in this mansion, then you will sign another” he muttered. I didn’t reply at first, but decided to go through the first lines of it

“Wait…I won’t be able to resign at my own wish until the one year service is over?” I questioned. He nods

“This is bullshit” I whispered to myself..how will I continue to hide this pregnancy. I planned on leaving after perhaps two months..cos my bump will start to become visible as at then.
“Erm…what if..I decide not to sign this..I..”

“Then you are as well as jobless..cos you won’t be allowed to work here without signing a contract, and mind you, you are already fired at the office. Once you are fired, you won’t be allowed in anymore…I wonder how you got in again, after firing you the first time” he noted, giving me a squinting look. I tried to stay calm, pretending like I know nothing of it..whereas Morris was behind it.

This will be a very hard step for me to take. If I quit, I might not get a job as paying as this, I will just need to take the risk.. whatever happens in the future, I pray it comes out good. I read through other lines, word for word before signing it.

“Good…you made the right choice. A sum of 5000 dollar would be sent to your account for signing up the contract, while your salary will come after you finish each month..is that ok by you Miss Collins” he asked. I nodded
“Words” “Yes sir” He picked up his phone, typing something into it, and just then my phone ding. My eyes popped out, he really sent it. Oh my gawd, this is huge..for just signing a contract?

“Thank you so much sir..” I noted, happily. He simply smirk, nodding. “You can leave now.
