Chapter 6

Richard p.o.v

I entered into the living room to see that my mother was on the phone with someone.

I heard her mention a name and keep repeating the same words over and over again.

“…. I will send you her number, too. Yes, honey. Yes. I won’t, don’t worry.” She promised as she ended the call.

“Hello, mother.” I greeted as I kissed her cheek.

“Who was that?”

I overheard some of the conversation.

“Was that Abigail?” I asked.

“Yes.”

“Why did she ask about your gynecologist? Is she sick?”

“Not she isn’t. “ My mother answered.

“Then why is she asking for a gynecologist?” I questioned.

There is something the two of them know that I don’t, and I must get it out of her.

“It’s Annabelle.”

What?

Is Annabelle sick?

“….what…happened to her….” I stammered, trying to get additional information out of her.

“She is pregnant.” My mother blurted.

“Pregnant?”

“Yes dear. She is. You can’t believe it too, right? She is a very reserved girl. It will be indeed much easier to believe if it was your sister who was pregnant” My mother muttered.

It was the truth.

Everyone knows Annabelle to be a good girl.

You will never see her with any guy unless he is her course mate.

“I wonder who is the bas***d that got her
pregnant because according to your sister, Abigail, narrative it seems like he ran away or something. If it was my daughter, I will bury him alive along with his entire family.” My mother raged.

“I’m sure her parents will think of something better for her… Poor girl.!”

I could no longer control my emotions, and I decided to go see Annabelle.

I need to confirm if the news is true or just an assumption.

Time Skip

I crossed my arms as I waited for Annabelle in front of the college.

There was a bunch of paper scrambled under me.

Some of the students gave me their number.

More reasons why Abigail doesn’t like it why I come to her school.

After a while, I saw Abigail and Annabelle walking out of the university.

She was probably waiting for a cab when she caught my figure first.

“Hi brother. What brings you to my school?” Annabelle said while she frowned.

I didn’t reply to her statement, but instead, I grabbed Annabelle by the arm.

She looked at me vigilantly.

“Get in.” I commanded as I opened my car door, signaling her to get in side.

“Brother….” Abigail tried to say as she looked completely confused.

Well, Abigail, you won’t understand.

“No thanks.” Annabelle muttered as she walked away from me after pulling her arm away from me.

I grabbed your arm again.

“Get in or I will make you.”

She glared at me.

“Brother! What are you doing?!”

“Mind your fvcking business, Abigail. Your driver is right there.” I yelled as I pointed at her car.

She didn’t move an inch.

“I won’t harm her. We have something to talk
about.” I reassured her.

“I will be fine, Abigail. Don’t worry, I will go with him. Let me hear what he has to say.” Annabelle stated.

“I won’t forgive you if you hurt Annabelle, okay!”

After much persuasion, Abigail left and Annabelle entered the car.

I started the car engine as soon as Abigail left.

“Are you pregnant?” I questioned as I took a good look at her.

She was a bit skinnier.

She didn’t look like a pregnant woman.

“What do you think? Do I look pregnant to you?” She answered me back with a question.

“Damn it, answer me.” I yelled, but she didn’t answer.

Seeing that she won’t answer my question, I decided to change my direction.

“Where are you even taking me to?”

“To the hospital.”

“Why? Why are you taking me to hospital?”

Annabelle’s p.o.v

I strictly asked Abigail not to tell anyone about my pregnancy.

I didn’t want anyone to know.

Especially this person!

“You are pregnant.” He stated.

“Who said that?”

“Abigail asked my mother about her gynecologist.”

“It’s mine, isn’t it?” He muttered as his eyes were tracing my figure.

Especially my stomach.

“I’m not Mary (Mother of Jesus), I can’t get
pregnant on my own!”

“I don’t understand.”

I wanted to strangle him.

“And if you don’t get that, YES. It’s yours!” It’s damn yours, Richard.” I blurted out as I hit him over and over again.

“I’m driving. Do you want to get us killed?!!”

“Yes. I want to die. Just f****ng ki*ll me!!! It’s better than having to carry this baby of yours…. l can’t even remember that night!”

“I can guarantee that you enjoyed it with the way you were moaning and screaming my name.” He snorted.

“I don’t think so. If I had enjoyed it, I wouldn’t have forgotten. Perhaps you are not as good as you claim” I sneered at him as I crossed my arm.

“oh, you should see yourself that night, baby.” He smiles smugly.

“I can still recall that night clear in my
head. I remember the birthmark on your hip.”

My birthmark?

Did he see that too?

“Yes…” He probably enjoy the look on my face now.

“I’m going to abort it.” I informed him.

I did not want anything to do with this shameless man now or in the future.

“It’s a human, Annabelle. You can’t abort it. It’s my child.”

“I can’t? You are joking. Forget it. Whether I want to abort or keep it, it has absolutely nothing to do with you.”

Seeing him like this, the urge to abort the baby increased.

“You can’t! It’s a living thing. It’s innocent. You could hate me as much as you want, but.. keep it… I will raise it if you don’t want it…”

I was surprised to hear his words.

Did he want it that bad?

He wasn’t a heartless creature after all.

“I don’t know.”

I already searched for information about pregnancy.

And it didn’t look like a walk in the park situation.

The body changes and everything….

“I think I will abort it..”

Richard took a turn when we were almost closed to the hospital.

Since he didn’t take me to the hospital, he must have changed his mind.

“Are you driving me back now?”

“Yes, I changed my mind. We are going somewhere else.”

“Where?”

“I’m taking you to the registry.” He said.

“Registry?”

“Yes, registry. We are going to have a court marriage.”
