Chapter 30
Babe’s POV
Just as he had said, a black land crusher jeep drove into the compound, at exactly 10:00am; is that how they keep to time…mehnn. I thought within, my heart thump harder. You can do this Babe, I assured myself.

A dark guy stepped out, might be the driver I thought. Just then, the other door opened revealing another, same dressed in black suit. He has spiky hair, unlike the first who has a short black hair. The latter is white by colour, good looking, but his face beheld no friendly expression.

“Good morning ma’am, please is this the house of Miss Collins?” The one who drove the car asked mum who smiled, giving him a reply. I watch from within my room, closing the drapes as I give my room a last glance, before stepping out.

“Yes she is in…let me call her out” I heard mum’s voice “Ok ma’am”

“I’m here already” I chipped in, dragging out my box. This is a job offer coming in a grand style I should be the one making my way to the mansion, but here I am, going in the boss’s car.

“Good morning Miss, we are from the Pavarotti Mansion, boss asked us to bring you” he spoke calmly. I nod. “Just give me a sec, and erm…here is my luggage. The other huge white guy, collected it from me while I decided to have a last word with mum.

“Stay well my dear…you don’t need to say more..just remember our discussion of last night and don’t forget your promise of coming by, during the weekends ” she noted, even before I could speak. I smiled, giving her a tighter hug.

“Keep the baby safe” she whispered into my ear. “Stay well mum”

“I will” she replied, more like she was holding her breathe. I walked away towards the car, getting into the passager’s seat. My imagination went wild, wondering how the mansion will look like, it surely will scream money.

Luciano exhaled loudly as he go through the magazine of the company , portraying different Models who had been the face of each products made. The last was Eva Quan, who seem to be one of the best, as her face had made their product sell tremendously. But her character is nothing to write home about, and the fact that she flirts alot is another problem.

Truth be told, no man will wanna stand such a beauty, she is flawless, and perfect when it comes to skin and beauty. God made no mistake is creating her; well, her attitude is kinda contrasting it.

He sighed, relaxing into the swivel, entering into a wild thought when a knock came on the door, bringing him back to reality.

“Come in” he simply mumbled, though the fellow wouldn’t have heard, but was sure he was summoned in.

“Lucian P. ” A voice noted, the fellow entered with broad smile plastered on his face. Luciano smiled, sitting upright.

“Hey Gregg” Luciano cooed, stretching his hand for a handshake, which the other grabbed.

Gregg had been his best friend right from college days, he has always got his back during hard times, especially during when his wife left him. To crown it all, the both are inseparable, not just friends, but like brothers
“What’s up man” He asked, taking a seat opposite. Luciano sighed. “Nothing much, just going through the company’s magazine, trying to sort out some things. “Hmm” Gregg hummed, flipping the pages of the magazine he was referring to. He stopped at Eva’s Photo, smirking.

“This girl is the witch of beauty” he noted. Luciano rolled his eyes. “Don’t tell me you are falling for her already, cos the Gregg I know will always go after anything in skirts.” He noted, sarcastically. Gregg laughed out loud.

“Come on man, I’m a changed man now…but this lady here is….”

“A face of one of our product…but I won’t advise you to go for her” Luciano stated, sincerely. Gregg scoffed.

“Why…wait, don’t tell me you also huhn ..” he wriggled his brow at the former, who scoffed in return.

“She is not even my spec, and whereas, I’m not interested in any serious relationship. But Eva is not an option, just take it that way.”

“Ok…I surrender” Gregg raised his two hand up into the air, in an act of surrendering. Luciano phone rang, he picked it up.

“Boss, she is in already” the background voice noted. “ok, just make sure she get comfortable until I come, hope she has been shown her room?” He asked. Gregg watched with interest, trying to decipher what the message is all about.

“Yes boss…just wanted to inform you” he replied. “Ok” he hung up as Gregg gave him a questioning look.

“Oh….I got a new nanny for my sweetheart” he smiled brightly, dropping the phone. Gregg arched his brow.
“Just that?” Luciano shrugged. “Yea…what else do you think….wait, are you imagining weird things again” he frown.

“Yea…come on man, you were literally smiling…more like a blush wanted to erupt. ” He exaggerated. Luciano hissed. “You always have bad thoughts in your mind”

“It might sound bad, but it’s the truth, you will never smile this much because a woman is packing into your house…I mean, is she cute….no no…lemme come this way..” he cleared his throat. “Do you like her?” He whispered

“I wish I can just smack your face….idiot. She is Angel’s Nanny, and there is nothing more added to that…cute or not, she is also not my type of women. And why will I wanna have anything to do with my workers, that’s unprofessional.”

“Sure….but it’s not a sin to like or crush on someone, irrespective of who that person means to you” Gregg chipped in. Luciano sighed, rubbing his temple. “Can we just end this love or like talk, I will be leaving soon for home. I need to be there when Angel arrives from school.”

“Oh…I was thinking we can have a chill time together” “That will come after showing my baby the surprise I have for her”

“What surprise, is today her birthday, don’t tell me I forgot” Gregg gasped. “You have never remembered, only if I tell you. But it’s not that, actually the lady is the surprise. My daughter and this new nanny share this kind of bond she has never had with anyone except me. Angel loves her so much” he whispered the last part.

“Wait, I’m not getting your point. Have they met somewhere before, or do you have any personal relationship with this mysterious lady?” He asked

“Nah…she once worked in this company” Luciano explained in details who Babe is, and how high Angel thinks of her food
“So you made her a nanny instead, tripling her pay”

“Yea…what do you expect…I feel she will be able to take good care of Angel, unlike that b!tch who know nothing but sex” he grimaced. Gregg laughed.

“I will like to see this special lady, and her delicacies” Gregg winked, wriggling his brows.

“One more rule Gregg…you mustn’t have anything to do with my workers…period”

Gregg gave a short laugh, rubbing his beard. “And erm…have you forgotten, that I don’t keep to those ungodly rules of yours”
