“What!!”

“Yes Granny said so” Alex said happily.

Brittany furrowed her brows and placed Alex down before going to the living room where Gracie was.

“Granny, what did you tell Alex” Brittany crossed her arms.

“What do you want me to tell the child. He was watching the news with me and he saw you kiss that man. He asked me why and I didn’t know what to say. I just said the first thing that camw up my mind” Gracie said and sighed.

Brittany pinched her brows and looked at Alex who was so happy.

She crouched down to his level and held his hands.

“Alex, Mr Nick is not your father” Brittany said.

“Huh? But you kissed him. People only kiss those who there love that means you love Mr Nick and that makes him my father” Alex said.

Brittany bit her lips and looked away, wondering how she would tell him in such a way that he will understand.

“It’s long and complicated, when you’ll grow older I’ll tell you but for now just know that Mr Nick isn’t your father” Brittan said calmly.

Alex frowned.

“Then who’s my father?” Alex asked and Brittany went mute.

“Where is my father? Why have I never seen him? All the kids in my school talks about their father but I don’t? Does my father hàte me? I want to see him” Alex said, almost in tears.

Brittany just hugged him, not knowing how to reply to him…

MORNING, LILLY’S RESTAURANT

Ashley got down her car with a sullen look on her face. Thanks to Kenneth’s word yesterday, she succeeded to pull herself back together.

He even told him everything between Savannah and him and she was happy for them.

Today, she came to see Jessica. Well she doesn’t know why but she feels like talking to her. She just hope she doesn’t come across Rhett.

“Good morning sir” She greeted one of the maids who bowed respectfully when he saw her.

“How may I help you miss?”

“Is Jessica around? I really need to speak to her” Ashley asked.

“Sorry but she isn’t around. I heard that her and a guy named Rhett took a day off. Apparently, Rhett’s mother is ill so they’re taking care of her” The guy said.

“Really? Gosh!, which hospital?” Ashley asked worriedly.

“Paulson Hospital” He replied.

“Okay, thanks” Ashley said and left.

Ashley got to the hospital and went to the prescribed ward. She looked through the window and could see Rhett feeding his mother while Jessica smiled as they discussed.

Ashley sighed sadly as she watched them..

“Ashley?”

She turned back to see Henry. He’s a doctor here and also a good friend of hers.

“Oh Henry” She let out a smile.

“Looks like you know this patient. I’m the one in charge of the patient. She has a fracture which has not been attended to for a month now and needs to be treated but it looks like they’re financially unstable,, I feel pity for them.” Henry said.

Ashley looked back at them through the window.

“So it’s what it’s all about” She muttered and turned back to Henry.

“I’ll pay for her operation and every other things she needs. Here’s my ATM card,, please help me pay it” Ashley handed it to him.

“Really? Wow, they must really mean a lot to you” Henry said and collected the card.

“Well you can say so” Ashley muttered with a sad look on her face..

“I’ll be back” Henry said and left to make the payment.

Ashley looked back at them. She could now see them laughing to what Mrs Smith said.

She didn’t even know when she smiled..

“Just how did I fell so deeply for you?” She thought as she watched them.

“You two look good together though… I’ll just be the third wheel if I continue staying here.” Ashley said to herself.

“And I’m done” Henry said, coming to her. He handed her back her ATM card.

“Okay. Please don’t tell them I was the one” Ashley said and Henry simply nodded.

She looked back at them and smiled sadly

“Goodbye Rhett. I wish your mom quick recovery” she muttered and left

Jessica looked up at that time too and frowned.

“Did I just see Ashley? Or I’m I seeing things?” She wondered.

Henry came in the hospital with a smile on his face..

“Someone just settled all your bills and as such we can start the operation now if you wish” Henry said.

“Huh?” Rhett’s eyes widened.

“F**k!” Aidan spatted in anger and threw away his phone.

One of his business partners just called, telling him that he’s redrawing from the business. That’s what has been happening since he came to work.

Never will he have thought that what Brittany did could have such great impact in his company.

At this rate, his company will surely go bankrupt at the end of this month.

“I need to do something about it?” He said inwardly..

“Boss! Boss!” His secretary rushed in.

“What!!” He said loudly, rather pissed off..

“It’s Mr Hewett.. He’s withdrawing his shares from the business and it seems N~HAYES INVESTMENT is slowly taking away all of our clients” She said.

Aidan folded his fists angrily. Well Aidan and Nicholas are both rivals in the business milieu.

“Wow! I’m loving this… The sales greatly increased” Nicholas said, checking the papers in his hands.

“Yes boss!, we also got many more investors who wants to invest in your business” Brittany said.

“It’s really great! All these is because of what happened. Imagine what will happen when we announce the public we’re getting married” Nicholas smirked and looked at her.

“Stop dreaming” Brittany rolled her eyes.

“Umm, Brittany. About yesterday-”

Nicholas’s phone began ringing, interrupting him. He sighed and picked up the phone then frowned when he saw who it.

“What do you want?” Nicholas said coldly.

“Still as polite as always” Xavier smirked.

“Well I was calling to know how my future daughter in law is doing.. And also I wanted you to come over with her for dinner, let me get to know her more better” Xavier said.

“So you called me for that? Bye” Nicholas said and hung up then sighed.

“What’s wrong?” Brittany asked.

“It’s my father. He wants us to come over tonight so he can get to know you more better” Nicholas said.

Brittany’s eyes glistened immediately.

“Oh it’s fine by me.. He’s your father and in order to make him believe we’re dating we have to go tonight” Brittany said.

“Really? Aidan and Sandy will probably be there” Nicholas said and raised his brows.

“So?”

“I just don’t want you crying like last time” Nicholas said and Brittany looked at him.

He immediately cleared his throat.

“I mean if it’s fine by you then it’s okay. I’ll come pick you up by 7” He said and faced back his work.

Brittany smirked and left.

Kenneth could be seen taking his photoshoots as usual while Savannah sat beside Evan.

Savannah was smiling widely with her eyes glued on Kenneth. He suddenly looked her way and winked at her.

Savannah blushed and looked away. She turned her gaze to Evan who seems lost.

“Evan what’s up? You seem lost these past few days” Savannah asked.

“I wonder how Ashley’s doing?” Evan blurted out before realizing what he said.

Savannah smiled.

“I see..” She said and chuckled.

“Why don’t you just tell her about how you feel about her” Brittany asked.

“She hàtes me, everything I do pisses her off and besides she’s always obsessed about that delivery guy” Evan said.

“Well at least you’ll free yourself” Savannah said and held his hand.

Kenneth saw that and frowned before looking away.

“I don’t know… I’ve been calling her and I also texted her countlessly but she isnt replying to any. I hope I’ll see her tomorrow” Evan said.

Savannah frowned and raised her brow.

“See her? How?” Savannah asked.

“Yeah”

“Wait didn’t she tell you she was leaving the country in the next hour?” Savannah asked and Evan’s heart fell.

“What!!” He spranged up from his seat.

“Yeah.. Kenneth told me Ashley said she’ll be going on her second world tour. She’s currently on her way to the airport” Savannah said.

“F**k!” Evan muttered and dashed out of the place.

He even bumped on Zayne who was coming but didn’t bother to stop.

“What’s wrong with him?” Zayne asked, sitting next to Savannah.

“Going to say his last goodbyes..” Savannah sighed.

“You can’t believe how happy I was when I saw the news… Gosh!, you nailed it!” Reagan said happily.

“I’m sure he must be having a high time” Doc said.

“Yeah!, I’ll even meet him tonight since I’ll be going to see Xavier” Brittany said.

“Use that opportunity well Britt. You have just one month” Doc said and Reagan nodded in reply.

“Of course.. Though right now I’m mostly worried about Alex. He wants to see his father” Brittany sighed..

“That’s sad” Reagan pouted.

“My advice I’ll tell you to let Alex know about everything. Who his father is and what he did to you.. It’s better he hears it from you that letting another person like Hailey or Aidan poison his mind” Doc said.

“Yeah… You’re right” Brittany muttered and nodded.

“Can’t wait for when you’ll be completely free” Reagan said.

“Don’t worry.. We’ll be reunited back again, all of us” Brittany said.

“And we’ll live together” Reagan said and Doc chuckled.

“I’m sorry guys but I need to cut this visit short. Need to see another prisoner here” Brittany said.

“Sure, we understand. Bye Britt” Doc ruffled Brittany’s hair who chuckled.

“Bye bestie!” Reagan blew her a kiss and they both left.

Brittany waited for some seconds before another prisoner was brought in.

“Miss Brittany?”

Brittany lifted her face up and her gaze landed on the one everyone accused of kílling her father.. The maid

“Doris” Brittany muttered.
