The table was quiet as they awaited what Emile had to say to them.

“What does Louis have to do in the picture?” Kyra asked.

“Louis is not who you think he is. You all should really be careful around him especially you Celina.” Emile said which startled Celina.

“Like you saw in your memories, some people are really after you till date. They wanna silence you so that you won’t tell on their organization. Fabian never took that decision of getting you married to Derek for nothing. Yes, Fabian works for me. He’s an undercover agent in my army. I handed you over to him since you lost your memory. He raised you with the name Sapphire which is your sister’s Name. All that was to protect you from harm’s way. When I heard that you fell in love with Louis, I had to do everything possible in order to push you away from him and thats where I saw Derek as an opportunity. With the help of Fabian, I struck a deal with Santiago so that you get married to Derek. I knew that even if he despised you at that time, he’ll eventually love you and I know Derek will be the only one to effectively protect you when time comes” He stopped and looked at their faces to see if they were understanding him.

Celina was stupefied. Now she understood why all these happened. But what did he want to push her away from Louis.

“I still don’t get the point. What has Louis get to do with this story?” Derek said out her mind.

“The next part of the story is kinda heartbreaking. Kyra, Derek I hope you’ll take heart but Louis is not who you thinking he is. In those days, Santiago used to be the leader of the biggest drug syndicate in the world. He’s the one after Celina. Since he was beginning to get old, he passed down his job to his only son Louis. Louis took that obsession of hunting you down from his father and I can assure you that he’s more cruel and a lunatic than his father. He’s what you call a wolf in sheep clothing” Emile paused.

Kyra felt like she would faint. Her son? A drug lord. Her baby? A drug lord? Upon all what Santiago did to her, this is the cruelest of them all.

“My son. Its my fault, I wasn’t there to educate him properly…” Kyra cried…

Celina hugged her, trying to calm her down by rubbing her back but it was all in vain.

Derek was frozen. His father was a drug lord and now its his brother? All these happened in front of him but he couldn’t see it. He also blamed himself for not being able to set Louis on the right path..

“I also don’t know if you know it but Louis is responsible for the death of Giselle Leroy” Emile showed her picture.

Celina gasped in shock. Giselle is!…death!!! With all these ups and downs she never had the opportunity to contact her friend and now she’s death.

“Derek, I know you must be wondering why I called Louis as Santiago’s only son. Ask your mom, she’ll tell you.”

All eyes turned to Kyra who was trying to calm down.

“I’m sorry Derek. I’m sorry I never told you this earlier. I never wanted you to hate Santiago but hearing all these I think I have to let the cat out of the bag. I had a lover too, his name was Derek. My parents forced me to get married to Santiago since he was rich but by that time I was already pregnant for you. Santiago despised me for that. He kept beating me up day and night. How I succeeded to give birth to you alive was a miracle. I gave birth to you and name you after your father, Derek. Your father isn’t Santiago. Your father is death. Santiago killed him when he heard I was pregnant for him. Santiago is a horrible man. He’s the reason why I was at the asylum. He attempted in killing me back then when you were young but failed so that’s why he locked me up there” Kyra broke into fits of tears…

Derek just stared at his mother. He didnt know what to say or how to react. He felt his whole life has been a lie. Lies, filthy lies!!! Memories of all what he went through when he was a kid began resurfacing in him. He gets it, he gets it all. Santiago never showed him any love simply because he wasn’t his son! What should he do, his whole life were nothing but baseless lies….

A drop of tear fell from his eyes as the pain he felt inside was too much to bear.

“Derek…”

Before Kyra could finish speaking, he stormed out of the living room. Celina stood up and quickly ran behind him.

He got into a car and Celina entered too then closes the door. He roared the engine to life then drove off at a maddening speed….

“Slow down!! You wanna get us killed?!!” Celina yelled, seeing the speed he was driving.

Derek paid deaf ears to her. He doesn’t care, he just did what his mind told him to do? The anger, depression, pain, was drowning him to no avail.

“Stop this car Derek” Celina screamed…

“If you don’t stop this car, it’s over between us” Celina didn’t want to say it but thats was the only way.

It seemed to work as Derek stopped the car near a cliff. Celina got down the car and went to the side of his car before opening the door.

“Are you nuts, you could have gotten us killed!!!” Celina yelled as Derek got down the car.

“And so? Life has no use to me anymore. Just go away, let me be afterall thats what you wanted to do” Derek yelled back.

What followed was a slap…

“You seriously need that slap. Maybe it will reset your brain! For f*vk sake, you need to calm down! You are not the only one who’s hurt in this story. There’s your mother and me. Do you think I find it funny when my life constantly in danger? Do you think I find it funny when I’m the reason why my family is what it is today? Do you think I like it seeing you hurt? No! I don’t… I’m deeply hurt too but I try to keep it in control and all that is because you taught me how to be tough. Where’s the tough Derek I got married too? Get yourself into place for your mother needs you the most at this moment. I’ll leave since you don’t want me here but I want you to think about it” Celina turned and took two steps in front but stopped when Derek hugged her from behind.

“Please stay with me. I’m sorry, don’t leave me… You’re the only pillar I got right now. Don’t abandon me please stay with me please-” Derek let his tears out.

Celina turned to him and let him hug her. She rubbed his back.

“I’m never leaving you. We’re love bound together and nothing will ever change that fact. Cry my love, cry it all out. I’ll give you shoulders to rest on” Celina said.

Derek hugged her tightly and she felt her shirt getting moist from all the tears. She simply rubbed his back. They sat down on the grass.

She rubbed his back and kissed his hair, gently stroking it. After some minutes, she heard his sobs die down. Finally, he was calmed.

“Feeling better?” Celina smiled at him.

“Yeah, thanks wifey” Derek said.

She wiped off his tears and kissed his forehead.

“Momma loves you” She replied which made Derek smile. Truly, she was like his mother at this moment…

“Come on, lets go home” Celina made to stand up but Derek pulled her down. He laid down on the grasses and made her place her head on his chest.

“Let’s just stay here for a while” Derek said and kissed her head.

“What should we talk about?” Celina looked at him.

“Let’s talk about our future. How about we start making our own family” Derek said.

“What do you mean?” Celina furrowed her brows…

“Let’s make some babies. I can start here if you want?” He snaked his hands round her waist.

Celina giggled and pinched his nose.

“Stop being so silly” She smiled.

“If I were to have children, I’ll want three. Two boys and a girl” Celina said.

“I like that too. I will have all my time to protect our daughter when she grows up coz I know she’ll be beautiful just like her mother and I don’t want all these boys flocking around her. I’m a jealous father” Derek said which made Celina laugh…
