“Fvck!!! That idiot where’s he?” Santiago ranted as he paced to and fro..

“What’s happening? Who’s that woman who came here, are you cheating on me?” Raquel folded her arms around her chest.

Louis walked in the house while pressing his phone with one hand while the other was in his pocket.

“Now you’re here! Honestly you need to tell me, are you planning of ruining our organization?” Santiago yelled.

Louis looked at him with furrowed brows. What was he barking about?

“What are you saying?” He faced his phone again.

“I know you’re behind Derek’s arrest. And I want you to go right now and clear any evidences you used to frame Derek” Santiago said.

“I won’t, he took what’s mine. Let him stay there for a day or two” Louis made to go upstairs.

“If you don’t release him right now, I’m going down and if I’m going down I’ll make sure to bring you down with me”

That made Louis stop on his tracks…

“What’s happening he-”

“Go upstairs and do something useful rather than blabbering here” Santiago cut Raquel off.

She gasped and then frowned before marching upstairs. Louis turned to Santiago with a menacing aura surrounding them.

“Are you threatening me?” Louis growled.

“Take it as a threat I don’t care. My problem is you release Derek right now. If he goes to jail, I assure you that we’re both doomed. I know you hate him and want to make him suffer. Do that but in another way, I’ll help you but if you send him to jail, we’re doomed” Santiago spoke lowly, trying to cajole Louis.

Louis looked at Santiago for some minutes.

“He’s hiding something from me and I’ll make sure I found out what it is” Louis thought

He dialed a number on his phone and made a phone call.

“Frame the Secretary for the smuggling of drugs. Remove all evidence that links Derek to it. If the Secretary tries to leak me to the police, ki*ll her and make it look like she committed suicide” Louis said on the phone.

He hung up and looked at Santiago.

“Thanks” Santiago muttered…

Louis walked away…

Derek opened his eyes as he heard some noise on the bars. He sat up and looked at the police man who entered the cell he was in.

“Mr Bernardo, please come with us.”

He nodded and stood up before walking out of the cell room. The police man guided him to the chief’s office.

“Good morning Mr Bernardo, please have a seat” The chief said.

“We’re really sorry for keeping you here for all these hours. The real culprit has been found”

“Really?! Who’s it?” Louis asked.

“It’s your secretary. We saw a video of her smuggling the drugs into the company. An arrest warrant has been issued for her but unfortunately we found her dead in her house, hanging up. She committed suicide” The chief sighed.

He then looked up at Derek.

“We’re deeply sorry for keeping you here. You’re a free man Mr Bernardo.” The chief said apologetically.

Derek smiled. The chief showed some places where he’ll have to sign. He signed there and shook hands with the chief before leaving.

He brought out his phone they gave back to him and called a driver who came and picked him up then dropped him home…

Confusion marred his head as he saw no one in the room. Where did Celina go? He also didn’t see her bodyguard and also Kyra.

Nevertheless, he went and took his bath then changed into something casual…

“Where’s my wife?” Derek asked as he walked downstairs.

“Emile called to tell us that she was rushed to the hospital” A maid said.

“What??” Derek’s eyes almost popped out.

He ran out of the house dialing a number.

“Mom, where are you? Are you with Celina??” Derek asked as he took a key to one of his cars.

“Yeah, we’re at the hospital she works in” Kyra said.

“Okay” He hung up and entered then drove off like a mad man.

“Celina, please stop crying okay? It isn’t your fault, you were a kid back then. I’m glad you got back your memory” Yolanda said. She also came since they were friends…

“You just can’t get it. My family was obliterated because of one stupid mistake I made” Celina cried.

Emile hugged her and made her place her head on his chest.

“It’s okay my daughter. It’s in the past okay?” Emile said and kissed her hair.

“Dad, I’m sorry” Celina hugged her back…

“Lina…”

Celina froze and looked up to see Derek standing in front of her breathing heavily since he ran all the way up here.

Emile released Celina and she scurried up from the bed then ran to Derek’s embrace.

“You’re free…Thanks heaven you’re free…” Celina buried her face in his chest.

Derek rubbed her back. He broke he hug and wiped off her tears.

“Shh..why the tears” Derek asked.

“I remember, I remembered everything! I’m the reason why my mom and brother died… They’re after me!!” Celina cried and explained everything to her.

“Shh…It’s okay” Derek pulled her in for a comforting hug.

“Listen, I know you can do it. You’re a brave woman, where’s the brave Celina that I fell inlove with? It’s not your fault okay, you were still young back then. No one is gonna hurt you so long as I’m breathing okay? Please stop crying, it’s gonna be okay. The deed has been done, up to you to change the future” Derek said and kissed her forehead.

“Now smile for me….Come on smile…” Derek smirked…

Celina looked down and smiled slightly…

“That’s better, I love you lina” Derek hugged her back again.

“Love you more” Celina replied and hugged him.

Emile, Kyra and Yolanda smiled as they watched the cute couple’s display of affection.

They broke the hug and looked back at the other people behind them.

“Love, let me officially present to you my dad” Celina gestured at Emile.

“For real? Now I get why you were so protective of her” Derek laughed.

“There’s still a lot of secrets that you all don’t know. That will be for another time, we’ve received enough shocking news for today” Emile said.

“You’re right”

Emile’s phone began ringing which he picked up. After some minutes, he hung up with a smile on his lips.

“Celina, do you wanna meet your sister?” Emile asked.

Celina gasped and nodded instantly. She really wants to know how she looks like.

“Alright, she will come meet you at your house though I’m sure you two must have met out of ignorance” Emile said.

“Come on, let’s go home” Kyra said.

They packed their things and left but not without bading goodbye to Yolanda.

The car drove them home. Celina was the first to get down the car.

“There are some visitors waiting for you inside ma’am” A maid said.

Celina nodded and marched into the house. She stopped in front of the living room and took deep breaths before walking in.

Surprise caught up with her as she saw Sapphire and Cameron sitting on the couch waiting for them.

Sapphire looked up and was surprised too..

“Saph…” Celina called.

Sapphire smiled. She knew it, she knew that those connections she felt with Celina was not just mere coincidence.

“Lina…” Sapphire said and stood then ran to her embrace.

The sisters hugged each other tightly as they smiled so widely. Derek smiled as he stood at the entrance. They broke the hug and turned to Emile.

Emile spread his arms wide in which they ran to his embrace.

“Our family is now complete” Emile muttered with a wide smile on his lips.

Derek looked at Cameron and winked. He winked back and resumed watching the family’s display of affection.

LATER***

“I knew that that link I felt with you wasn’t in vain” Sapphire said patting Celina’s hair as they were discussing. Catching the lost time.

Derek and Cameron pouted while looking at them…

“Hey…” Derek said

“That’s not fair, you’re no longer paying attention to us” Cameron said making baby faces.

Celina and Sapphire looked at them and burst into fits of laughter.

“Come on baby, come to momma” Celina spread her arms, same as Sapphire.

The two walked to their woman and snuggled with them. Emile smiled from where he stood watching them.

“They look so happy together. That’s what I wanna see.” Kyra said standing beside him.

“Yeah, too bad you never got the chance to have your own happy moment Kyra.” Emile said. Kyra nodded sadly, remembering someone

“Come, let’s give them some privacy” Emile said and ushered Kyra out of the living room.

They went to the balcony where they could have a clear view of the environ.

“What happened to Derek?” Emile asked as the wind disheveled his hair, giving him that young look..

Kyra looked down…

“Come on, you can tell me I’m not your best friend for nothing” Emile patted her back.

“Santiago killed him when he found out” Kyra said, fighting back her tears.

It was a very long time ago, when Kyra was still in her mid 20s. She and Emile were very good friends. It was on Emile’s wedding day, that she met the love of her life. His name was Derek.

Derek and her fell in love with each other and a relationship began at full swing. They loved each other so dearly. All that was shattered when Santiago asked her hand in marriage.

Since Santiago’s family were rich, her parents gave her in for marriage without considering her feelings. She married married Santiago but unknown to everyone that she was pregnant. Yes, pregnant for Derek…

The day Santiago found out about the pregnancy, he changed bitterly towards her and each opportunity he gets, he beat her up. It was a miracle that Kyra succeeded in keeping the baby alive till the 9 month. She gave birth to a boy, he looked so Handsome and so much like that father, so he named him after the father Derek…

“I just don’t get it. Is it a sin to fall in love?” Kyra asked and wiped off the drop of tear that fell from her eyes

“Come here,” Emile pulled her in for a hug then kissed her hair.

“It’s okay, I’m sure Derek still loves you very much. Before he died of asthma, he made me promise that I’ll protect you and his son. Good thing that fate brought our families together.” Emile rubbed her back.

“Thanks bro” Kyra wiped away her tears.

“What are friends for. You’re like a sister to me and it’s my job to protect my kid sis” Emile smiled.

They stood like that, watching the sunset.
