Episode 18

“Celina?” Derek asked and she nodded then smiled.

Derek smiled too…

“That’s cool” Derek replied.

They continued having their lunch in perfect tranquility. Once they were done with their meal, they stood up and walked out of the restaurant.

“Where are you taking me?” Sapphire asked as he drove to a direction.

“You’ll see” He replied.

“I just hope you’re not kidnapping me” Sapphire teased.

“Cmon, how can I kidnap something like you on my beautiful car. A tractor will do” He replied…

Sapphire hit his shoulder and frowned. Derek smiled and looked at her.

“Hey, don’t be mad. I’m sorry” He said.

Sapphire looked at him in surprise.

“You are?” She exclaimed. Hearing this from his mouth is quite shocking. Derek nodded in reply.

He halted the car and then got down the car. Sapphire got down too.

“I’m sorry but I’ll have to bandage your eyes before we reach there” He said.

Sapphire looked at him, wondering where possible could he be taking her. She still complied..

He tied a piece of white clothing round her head, making sure to cover her eyes. He then held her hand and guide her on where to go.

“Is it still far?” Sapphire asked.

“Just hold on for a little while” He replied

They stopped and he untied the clothing. Sapphire gasped at the view she saw. It was a very beautiful garden and the only flower, fruit planted there are blue in color. It was some sort of a blue garden.

The butterflies that flutter around, extracting the nectars from the flower blue in color. Same as the ladybugs with the birds chirping around making the environment to be so lovely…

“Do you like it here?” He asked.

Sapphire nodded while admiring the area. She had no idea such place existed.

“Well this place is my mom’s property. Only I and here know of this place.” Derek said and removed his coat then hung placed on the a bench before sitting down.

“This place is really nice and so quiet. I think I’ll be coming here everyday!” Sapphire said and sat down by him.

“Feel free to. What’s mine is yours” Derek replied.

She simply smiled and placed her head on his shoulder. None of them spoke, nature did the job for them.

Sapphire closed her eyes as she listened to his heartbeat which sounded like music to her ears.

What’s this that I’m feeling each time I’m close to him. Each time he compliments me, my hearts always flutters She asked herself.

She then raised up her head and looked at him. All this while, he’s been staring at her with lots of questions going on in his mind.

What will be her reaction if I come clear to her? Can she reciprocate my feelings for her? What if I get hurt at the end

For the first time, Derek was scared. Scared of receiving another heartbreak…

He found himself leaning in closer and closer. Sapphire stared at him wondering what he wanted to do.

Derek closed his eyes and then pressed his lips on her forehead. That forehead kiss was more than a thousand kisses on the lips. A kiss that says he’ll be there for her, a kiss that says how much he cares and…..loves her.

A drop of tear fell from Sapphire’s eyes. This reminds her greatly of something, something that was missing in her life. Sadly, she couldn’t pinpoint it as the memories where too blurry.

Derek pulled back and smiled then tugged her hair behind her ears. Sapphire then hugged him tightly and buried her face into his chest inhaling his scent.

Derek simply stroke her hair, waiting for her to calm down. He guessed he has provoked one of her memories that a little bit confused her.

After some minutes, they broke the hug.

“Let’s go back to the company” Derek said.

She nodded and stood up. Derek picked up his coat and led the way while she followed behind.

“Boss, we have investigated and Raquel Bernardo is innocent.” The man said.

His boss smiled.

“Good, how about Giselle Leroy” He asked.

“We don’t really know about her but we found out that she’s an assassin. She kills all the victim she fvcks with. Also, we discovered that she is a friend to Sapphire Bernado the third target.” The man said.

“Alright, it seems as if she’ll be off great help to my team. Find her and bring her to me” He said.

“Yes boss” The man replied and left.

“I have to find that fvcking woman. Can’t believe that for 18 years we’ve been looking for a single girl. If that girl opens her mouth and talk, the whole organization is going down”

The car stopped in front of the company and they got down the car then walked in.

They saw Emile and Fabian discussing. As they saw them approaching, they stopped.

“Good afternoon boss” Fabian greeted.

“Cmon, stop calling me that. You’re my father in law and it’s weird hearing boss from you.” Derek said.

He turned to Emile.

“Here, you can go home with Sapphire. Make sure nothing happens to her. I don’t want a single strand of her hair to be touched okay?” Derek said.

“Yes boss” He replied.

Derek turned to Sapphire…

“Goodbye little wifey” He said.

“Bye” Sapphire replied with a blush on her face.

Emile and Fabian exchanged knowing looks and smiled.

Sapphire walked out with Emile. She entered the car and he drove them home…

Giselle was seen walking down the streets of the alley. Ever since that passionate night with Mr handsome, she couldn’t forget about him.

“Don’t tell me I’m inlove?” Giselle wondered out loud.

She shook her head in denial. Love is the last thing she’ll ever wish to fall into…

Suddenly out if nowhere, a car halted in front of her. Two men got out of it. They were both wearing shades.

“Get in the car if you don’t want to die” The man said and they aimed their guns at her.

Giselle raised her hand up in the air…

“Yes, I will follow you. Please don’t sh00t.” She said and slowly walked to them then entered the car.

The men entered too and closed the car door then drove off at a wild speed.

Derek drove into his house and parked his car before getting out of the car.

“Good evening Sir” The maids greeted as he walked into the house. He nodded in replied.

“Is it done?” Derek asked to the maid he punished earlier and she nodded.

“Good, I’ll check it. That’s just a reminder to the rest of you. Don’t try anything funny with my wife or you’ll regret it.” He warned with a stern look on his face before walking to his room.

With a tired face, he went to his bathroom and took a quick shower that refreshed his mind abit

After the bath, he wore a shirt with a black pants before walking out of the room.

He went to the dining room but no one was there.

“Where’s Sapphire?” He asked to a maid.

“She optioned to cook” She replied…

He nodded and went to the kitchen. The scent coming from thr kitchen made his stomach grumble for food.

As he entered the kitchen, he saw her cooking while humming a song.

Sapphire turned as she felt a presence behind her.

“Oh Derek. Wanna join me?” Sapphire asked.

“Well, I’m not really good in that” Derek replied.

Sapphire rolled her eyes and pulled him in then threw an apron at him…

“Wear it and let’s cook” Sapphire ordered.

Derek pouted…

“I’m human with feelings you know, stop treating me like an animal” Derek said with a pout on his face.

Sapphire’s chuckled and pinched his cheek then stood on her toes and pecked him on the cheek.

“Stop acting like a kid let’s get to work. Tonight we’re eating spaghetti” Sapphire said.

They began arranging the different ingredients. Sapphire’s stomach was paining as a result of excess laughter. Derek’s manner of slicing the veggies was so funny.

Derek winced as the onion were affecting his eyes. Once he was done with it, he washed his hands and rubbed his eyes trying to clear of the blurriness of his eyes.

“Let me help you” Sapphire said and raised her hand then cleaned off some drops of tears that came out of his eyes.

All along, Derek was just staring at her. He really loves it when he cares about her and damn it,,, why should she be this pretty?!

“Here” Sapphire said and giggled.

She began mixing them together and then put it in fire.

She began cleaning the utensils that were used for cooking. She removed her apron and hung it then turned to Derek before aching her brows.

“Why are you staring at me like that? Do I have dirt on my face?” Sapphire asked touching her face.

“Nothing. You’re just really pretty you know” He said which made her blush.

“Uhh, thanks” She replied

Later, dinner was ready and they ate while arguing and debating as usual before going to bed.

Two days passed smoothly with no problems. That day marks the 6th day of Louis deal remaining 4 days.

Derek was seen in his room getting ready to go work. Sapphire already left for work since today was Wednesday and she had some mothers to help them put to birth.

Derek picked up his coat and suitcase then walked out of his room. He began walking to the exit.

He halted as he saw Sapphire laptop on the couch.

“That girl, always careless and forgetful” Derek said.

But you still do love her His subconscious mind said.

He picked up her laptop and then walked to her room. He opened it then walked in and placed the laptop on her table.

He made to walk out but something caught his attention. A paper was sticking out of the drawer.

Well he knows it’s wrong to prick one’s nose into others personal things but curiosity took over.

He opened the drawer and brought out the paper then turned it to read it. He furrowed his brows as he saw a divorce paper. What’s Sapphire doing with such a thing? Can she possibly be thinking of a divorce??
