(The Magic Cave)

A Dark Room~~

“Welcome back, Elders of Vampic Fall. I know that we shouldn’t be here by now, considering the fact that we are just recovering from the war that happened many hours ago. But I called for this emergency meeting because we need to take a right step about what had happened” Egeus, the ex-leader of the elders stated.

He was actually ripped off his position during Hunter’s reign as it was given to Emmett, but since Emmett is now dead, he had taken up the position back.
The other elders nodded

“We all know that the king is dead, the mother queen had been imprisoned by the prince D’Arcy, who is now in possession of the trident. And with the look of things, he has taken some right steps in setting everything that was damage in place, just within the past few hours. Though a lot are still there to carry out, but he has done a lot.

So what do you think my elders, should he be crowned the next king”
“Hmm…I don’t think that is right..this boy is a bas***d, he doesn’t have a mother. It’s not right according to our culture” One of the elders spoke up

“The king’s sister should have taken over, but we are not sure of all that is going on. Why did D’Arcy ask for Thana’s arrest? And if truly that he is a bas***d why did the trident accept him” Another elder chipped in. the others reasoned with his point. Egeus sighed, rubbing his temple.

“Right from time, we have always known the queens children to be spoilt brat, they ain’t fit for the throne, but D’Arcy has been different. And if the trident had accepted him, then it means that there is a secret we do not know.

We will head to the palace now, and clear out our curiosity. If D’Arcy is fit for the throne, then he will be crowned king, but that is after the goddess has been consulted” Egeus stated.

“So be it” the Elders chorused in unison.

D’Arcy’s Chamber

“The elders seeks my presence in the throne room, I believe it’s about the throne stuff. I will like you to come with me.” D’Arcy said to his mother

Drusilla nodded walking forward to assist him in fixing his collar. She grabbed his two cheeks softly in her palms, and smile, looking directly into his eyes.

“You will surely be a great king D’Arcy; your father knew what he was doing then when he gave you the tracking ring that I made. He knew that as day like this will come, and your mother’s presence will be required as proof.

The throne was yours from the beginning according to custom, he knew about it, but perhaps he never wanted war to break out between you and hunter, fighting for the throne; that was why he didn’t hand over to you immediately he died. Your father has always been considered a wise king right from the beginning of his reign; that was why war never happened during his time.

All I know is that whatever belongs to someone will surely be for that person, no matter how people try to take it away. Come on, everything will work out well my dear son” She ended her speech pecking his cheek.

He pulled her into a warm embrace and exhale. He wished she had been there with him from the beginning, he never felt a motherly love like this from the start. And he will surely make it up to her for what she had passed through in her lifetime.

Throne Room~
“Good day Elders of Vampic Fall” D’Arcy greeted on entering the throne room. They all stood up in respect of him and bow in reference. He walked towards his reserved seat, not the main throne, but the other throne for princes, and sat down.

The Elders took their seats, one by one, leaving only their leader Egeus, on his feet. Egeus cleared his throat and faced the elders; they gave their usual signal, before facing the prince.

“Great Prince of Vampic Fall, we the Elders had called for this sudden meeting because we found it very important to hold now. And without wasting much time, I will just go straight to the point.” He took a step forward, D’Arcy nodded with confidence

“My prince, we have known you since you where brought to the palace by the king, and as he had stated, he claimed to be your father.

Most of the elders here are not sure about if it’s true or the king meant you to be an adopted son, but I, Egeus was shown the mark of royalty on your shoulder, by the king, as the eldest elder for confirmation; whereas the priestess also confirmed the fact that you are truly the king’s son.

But one thing is bothering us, and that’s about your mother who none of us knows about. The king never mentioned who your mother is, which gave us the assurance that he had gotten you out of wedlock.

And as we all know the reigning king was killed during the war that took place about 40 hours ago. As right his heir should claim the throne, but he has no heir, so the second son of the former king who is his brother should take over; but that is if the son was born in the right way of royalty.

As custom demands, we cannot enthrone a bas***d, only the son of the queen or a maiden marked by the king to show ownership as a mate. What do you have to say my prince” Egeus ended his speech, the other elders nodded in support. He sat down and waited for D’Arcy to speak.

“You have done well Elder Egeus, and I really appreciate your knowledge. Truly, no one knows my mum because she never had me in the palace but she was impregnated by the king. The king later found out that she was carrying his baby and came for me. I don’t have much to say, you will hear from the horse’s mouth itself.”

“Come in mum” He ordered. The large doors to the throne room opened, revealing Drusilla in a stunning dress. She walked in majestically giving a curt nod to the Elders before going to stand beside D’Arcy. The Elders had this strange look on their faces; they don’t think they know this woman; she had changed in physical appearance over the years.

D’Arcy signaled to her to speak. She cleared her throat and began

“Great Elders of Vampic Fall, I greet you all. I know that you all will be wondering who I am, let me start with an introduction. My name is Drusilla, the mistress to the ex-king of this kingdom, King Orpheus.” She stated

There was murmurings among the Elders, Egeus stood up with a shock look on his face.

“Drusilla…” he called with a smiling face. Everyone knows the king loves his mistress a lot; he didn’t hesitate to show it out. She was brought to the kingdom as a slave but found favour in his eyes, he gave her special treatment. She was also nice to everyone, unlike queen Thana who was a demon in vampire form.

Drusilla nodded at him and continued

“Many people actually believed I ran away from the palace, but that’s not true, I was given permission to leave when I asked for it from the king. He never wanted to let me go, but I promised to be back at the right time. I told him I wanted to go check out my families and other friend; although I lied.

I left the palace after finding out that I was pregnant with the king’s child. I knew the implications of what had happened, also considering the fact that I am not a vampire but a witch.”

She went about to explain why she left, how Onyx had been on her neck trying to hunt her down, how her son was taken away by Hannah after birth, how she handed Celeste over to Lazarus when they were both escaping from Onyx after he had killed Lazarus’ parent in a fight.

The elders listened keenly to her story. While she was talking, D’Arcy ordered a guard to get Hannah to the throne room

Hannah was brought in; she greeted the elders and told her own story. Why she had done what she did and how she regretted it. She only wanted the male son to be safe and asked Drusilla to run away from Onyx, stating that he is coming after her.

“Many of you know me as the person who nursed D’Arcy for about six month here in the palace, but left afterward, but no one knew that I was the one who brought him after nursing him for a year at the kingdom I escaped to, just because of Onyx.” She muttered

She told them how Onyx had been a threat to her life and how he had forced her to do many things to Drusilla being the closest maiden to her, but she couldn’t because she has a good heart. Instead, she lied a lot to him to save her head.

“King Orpheus got to banish D’Arcy after finding out that his mission was to ki*ll D’Arcy” She ended her speech.

“Hmm…so the king has two children from his mistress?” Another elder asked.

“Yes” Drusilla replied.

“But you were not marked by him” He said. She smiled walking towards them. She brought out a handkerchief, cleaning of the concealer on her neck, revealing the large mating mark of the king.

“Hargg…” they all gasped on seeing the mark on Drusilla’s neck
“This is indeed the mark from a royalty, we will need a priestess to confirm if it really belongs to Orpheus” Egues stated

“But the priestess has been banished….” Another Elder was about saying when they felt a strong presence in the room. The laughter of the priestess echoed in the room, she appeared in front of them

“it’s the priestess, she is back”

“I summoned her back…she was banished earlier by Hunter” D’Arcy voiced out, to clear their curiosity.

“Good day old falcons, surprised to see me. Well, when a bad ruler is given the throne, he misuses it, and the people will never be happy. Tell me, how many of you were happy with Hunter’s reign” She asked, no one answered.

“Well, I have been watching this meeting right from my shrine; to clear your curiosity; Drusilla was marked by the king Orpheus before he died. If not, why do you think the Trident will accept him” She stated. The elders nodded in affirmation.

“In that case, we have heard from the horse’s mouth, and the priestess. We won’t want to delay the coronation; we will make preparations for a disciple and other necessary thing. But before then, the Prince is not allowed to leave the kingdom until after coronation.” Egeus finalized

“Then the meeting is closed, or is there anymore thing to say” D’Arcy asked
No one had anything to say.

The Lush House~
“I love him so much dad…I just can’t express the feelings. But the truth is; I don’t think there is anything that can break us apart. Emerald stated. Right in the living room is her family, waiting to hear the final decision her father will make about this. Her father didn’t say a word for a while; he palmed his face and sighed.

He had arrived home when his wife said she has something very important to discuss with him concerning Emerald. Being the apple of his eyes, he is always concerned about his daughter, but he wasn’t expecting something like this. His precious daughter is mated to a vampire, and he has already marked her.

“He shouldn’t have marked you without our permission” he muttered softly, well everyone was expecting him to flare up, but to their surprise he is doing the opposite.

“Dad…he is my mate..he had to do it” She muttered. He nodded and sighed
“So what’s you say on this darling…cause this is pissing me off” His wife noted with a frown
He shook his head before speaking

“Well, I think this is the only secret I haven’t spoken about to even you my wife. Millions of million years ago, the vampire and humans lived together, they marry and make children. Some of their children are vampires, some came as humans.”

“We know that story; that is history” His wife noted.

“Well, my family linage came from a vampire male. A much respected vampire as at then, he married a human, and the family tree continued, until all the vampires in the family all died, that was after a great war between the human and vampires.

The humans dispersed, only a few of them still kept contact, some died during the war too. The few humans remain in the family never got married to any vampire to continue the vampire linage in our family, they all married humans from that century, down to our generation” he stated. His wife shook her head in disbelief, like he had said; it was a secret she doesn’t know about

“So are you trying to tell me you are from the linage of a vampire?”
“That was millions of years ago, the vampire’s trait had died in the family, the others are now pure humans”

“Then why didn’t you tell me about this a long time ago”
“Will you have married me if I did, you will claim that I am a vampire” He resorted. She scoffed and folded her arms

“So if Emerald is mated to a vampire…I don’t find it surprising, because I ran into one of my distance cousin and she told me about the message her daughter sent to them after being missing for some months now. She said she has a mate who is a vampire and had missions to carry out, she showed me the video. It was Megan”

“Megan?” Daniel who had been in the room, but hadn’t said anything spoke up for the first time. His father nodded
“Wait dad..is it the popular artist that is said to be missing?” Emerald asked. D’Arcy had told her about going to Vampic Fall with Megan, does that mean that they are cousin

“Yes”
“So you mean the popular Megan is my cousin and we didn’t know about it…dad..you are hiding a lot from us” Daniel spat

“I also did not know until some days ago, when I went for a conference. I met her mum, who is my very distant cousin, we are not really close but we know each other.

We got talking somehow and she revealed a lot to me. We all know about the vampire stuff of our family being that the story has been passed down to generations ever since then. She told me her daughter is Megan; I was just finding out that she even has a daughter.”

“D’Arcy knows Megan; he went to Vampic Fall with her. He claimed that Megan has a mission to do over there, and she has a mate who is a well respected vampire in the kingdom. He promised to come back for me after he is done” Emerald chipped in

“Who is D’Arcy” Daniel asked
“It’s Dave…that’s his real name”

“Oh.”

“Once he comes back, tell me about it…okay” Her dad noted. She nodded
Her mum hissed and got to her feet, throwing her hands into the air. Daniel laughed at her funny expression

“So you have finally accepted, just like that..do you mean I will start having vampire grandchildren? What will I say to my friends” She spat
“You don’t need to say anything to anyone”

“Hey mum..i know what is going on in your mind, you grandchildren are going to be super cute, like Emerald. You might be thinking they will have fangs and all that but no, that will be when they grow to the stage to change. They will be in human form” Daniel explained. She huffed and faced her husband

“You have a lot to pay for, for keeping such things away from me” She snapped and left
“Darling…come on” Her husband went after her. Daniel and Emerald laughed

“Phew…at last…now I’m free…my family have accepted my mate..well I don’t know about mum”
“She will come around…trust me” Daniel stated. She nodded
“I hope so…D’Arcy come back quick..there is good news.”

“About the video Crystal dropped accusing you?” Daniel asked
“Well…dad promised to go to my school to sort things out…”
Daniel nodded

“Everything will be fine, trust me” he pecked her forehead

“Ok…I need to go check on my babe…I miss her”

“But I thought you both met yesterday”

“Huhhun”

“Gosh…you both can’t just rest or a while” She scoffed glaring at him

“Hey pumpkin..you gat your mate…tell him to come fast if you are jealous…leave me to my sweetheart” he winked and walked out. Emerald pouted

“Try to make us all proud” Lazarus muttered to Megan, hugging her. He pulled out and gave her a long warm kiss.

“I will” She replied with a smile. Her body is now strengthened compared to before

“I wish I can come with you, but there are other things I need to do, which is also important. And this guardian of yours is stiff necked.” He glared at Lottie who was standing far away. Megan laughed and hits his shoulder, he chuckled.

“She is just caring for me..she isn’t stiff necked”
“Yes I know…but she is kinda stubborn, you ain’t her mate for goodness sake”
“She is my guardian; she has to do her job”

“Let me release you before she comes with another scene”
He kissed her again, before letting go
“See you at Enchante” he stated, she laughed out

“Enchante will be brought to us”
“Just pulling your legs babe”
She blushed. She loves it when he calls her babe

“We move now Lottie” She yelled out as Lottie came closer to grab her hand
“Bye Lazarus…”Lottie muttered as they both vanished from the vampire kingdom, appearing in the human world; deep inside a forbidden forest.

“So..this is the place?” Megan asked
“Yes..we will walk down to the cave that connects magic all round the whole world. It’s filled with killer creatures, but trust you will fight your way through to save the whole world” Lottie replied. She nodded. They started walking towards the cave

“So Lottie…after the whole thing…will you leave?”
Lottie shrugged

“My work is already done; I just need to be with you to the end”
“Do you have a mate” Megan asked. Lottie smiled
“I don’t have one…but I think I am going to get one soon”

“Why do you say so?”

“I can feel that he is closer” They stopped at the front of the cave. There was no entrance
“Does the humans know about this place?” Lottie shook her head
“We can see it because we have magic, to the humans, there is nothing here.

“How do I enter..”
“Just command an entrance”
Megan did exactly and it opened

“So…this is where we part..i will wait for you to be through…we might go home together if you succeed..which I know you will. Here…have the book and the ring. The goddess will put in your mind, how to use it to break the chains.” Lottie explained. They both shared a warm hug

“Thank you for everything Lottie..starting from being my maid to my guardian. Bless you”
Lottie smiled and pecked her hair.
“Go now”

Megan walked closer to the cave entrance; she gave one last look at Lottie before entering into it. The cave swallowed her, closing up
