CHAPTER SEVEN 

____Next morning 

The rays of sunlight that penetrated from the window shone in Ameliah’s eyes which caused her to wake up.

She rose up from bed and yawned loudly while stretching her arms…

“Oh no, I’m late again for his breakfast” She said and dashed into her small sized bathroom.

She did her business and ran to her wardrobe. Then she wore her uniform and took her hairpin.

She ran out of her room while doing her hair. She ran to his and knocked lightly…

“Come in” Stephen said…

She slightly opened the door and walked in..

“Good morning master” Ameliah said with a deep bow.

“Morning” He replied climbing down from his bed. He glanced at her and said…

“No need to prepare a breakfast for me, I’m not hungry. I just need you to do some cleaning in this room” He said as he removed his shirt and made to remove his pants…

Ameliah quickly turned away gulping down nothing…

Why did I accept to be his personal maid She thought…

“Why are you acting like this, haven’t you seen a man’s body before?” Stephen asked confused…

“Yes master” She answered still backing him.

Stephen raised his eyebrows and a smile formed on his lips unknowingly on his lips as he entered the bathroom.

Ameliah began cleaning his room while humming a song. Stephen walked out of the room and stood by the bathroom door as he stared at her…

She’s really pretty He thought with a smile but he shook the feeling away…

She stood on a stool and made to clean the window but she slipped and was falling. She closed her eyes and was ready to embrace the pain that was coming but it never came…She opened her eyes and and was shocked as to see she was in Stephen’s arms…

“Um, thanks” She said as he dropped her down…

“I’ll be leaving now. When you’re done with the cleaning you’re free from work” He said and walked out of his room…

He continued walking and the maids and guards were bowing in greetings. The majority of the people living in his mansion are vampires…

Stephen walked into a room that was boldly written ‘DO NOT ENTER’ on it…

The room was specially designed for him to train in it…He removed his shirt and then began training…

Ameliah finished cleaning his room and then walked to her room. She fell on the bed…

“What can I do now?” She said to no one in particular…

“Oh, let me go and see Chloe and Ember” She said and stood up then walked to the kitchen but they weren’t there, he then walked out of the house and saw them washing clothes while chatting

“Hey, can I help?” She said…

“Oh no, no need, we’re almost done” Ember said…

“I insist” Ameliah said and sat down then they began washing the clothes…

“So how is your new job” Chloe asked…

“It’s pretty cool” Ameliah replied still washing the clothes…

“Ah!! How I do much wish to be in your shoes Ameliah. Spending the whole day in our master’s room” Ember squiled…

Chloe hit her head as usual.

“Shut up Ember” Chloe said…

Ember pouted like a kid and held her head…

They continued washing the clothes when suddenly Ameliah gasped…

“Oh no!!” She said and stood up…

“What’s wrong?” Ember asked…

She immediately ran away. Ember and Chloe looked at each other, confused…

Ameliah ran to her room and began searching for her bangle, she just lost it. It was a gift from her father and she can’t afford to loose it…

She searched in her room but it wasn’t there…

Maybe I lost it in his room She thought…

She stood up from the ground and ran to his room. She knocked slightly but there was no response…

Guess he’s not her back She thought…

She opened the door and walked in then began searching for her bangle. She searched everywhere on the floor but it wasn’t there.

“What do I do, I can’t afford to loose” She said…

She stood up from the ground and began searching for it on the bed, maybe it fell off when she was fixing his bed…

She saw something that glistened and it caught her attention. She looked at it and it was a ring that was placed on his bed stand.

“Wow, so beautiful!!” She said to herself.

Without thinking she picked it and stared at it, it was beautiful ring adorned with a ruby. She stared at it and completely forgot that she was searching for something…

The door flew open and Stephen walked in, she looked at his and then at the ring in her hand then she looked back at him…

“What see you doing with that?” Stephen asked…

Ameliah gulped down nothing…She could sense anger in his words…

“I was searching for something and then I saw this ring. It was beautiful so I wanted…”

“You wanted to steal it?” Stephen said almost yelling…

“No, I just wanted to see it, I wasn’t planning to…”

“Get out of here” Stephen yelled at her.

Ameliah stood there still staring at him, unable to understand his behavior…

“Are you deaf, I asked you to get out!!” Stephen said at the top of his voice. He closed his eyes in order to calm his self down…

Ameliah placed the ring where she took it and ran out of the room in tears…

Stephen picked the ring and stared at it, it was his mother’s. This is the last thing he that reminds him of his family and he can’t afford to loose it…

Ameliah ran to her room and cried till her heart content.

Why I’m I crying? It’s my fault anyways, I shouldn’t have touched his things…But it hurts when he yells at me She thought as she cried…

After his bath, Stephen settled in his blue pants, leaving him shirtless…His phone began to ring and he walked to the bedstand and picked up his phone…

“Are you all ready” He spoke on the phone…

“Yes master, we’re ready to attack. We’re just waiting for your orders” The person spoke…

“Alright Flynn” Stephen said…

He hung up the call and placed back his phone on a stand. He noticed something on the floor. He crouched down and picked it up.

His eyes widened as he saw it was a bangle identical to his,, he looked at his wrist to make sure it was still there and it was still there…

“Who has this one?” He said to no one in particular…

His mind drifted to what Ameliah said…

Oh no, I yelled at her meanwhile she was telling me the truth He thought guiltily…

Ameliah immediately stood up and wiped her tears as she heard a knock on her door.

She quickly stood up and went to open the door…

“Master wants to see you” The guard said…

“I’ll be there in a jiffy” She said and closed the door. She breathed in and out before opening the door and walked to his room…

“Come in” Stephan spoke before she could knock.

She turned the door knob and entered with her head down as she held her dress…

She stood there still looking down. Stephen walked and stood in front of her…

“Did you cry?” Stephen asked…

She shook her. Stephen sighed and held her cheek then lifted her head up so that he can see her face…

“Tell me the truth” He said…

She then nodded and looked down again…

“I’m sorry master, I wasn’t planning on stealing the ring. I just came here to..”

“Here this is yours, I presume” Stephen said while handing her the bangle he picked…

“Thanks, this was what I was looking for” She said with a smile…

“I’m sorry for yelling at you” He said feeling guilty…

“No need to say sorry to me, it was my fault in the beginning” Ameliah said with a smile…

He stared at her unable to shift his gaze away from her. He came back to his senses and blinked several times…

“You may leave now, and also… I won’t be here for tomorrow so you have to keep this area clean” Stephen said…

She nodded and walked out of the room…

Stephen walked to his wardrobe…

“Tomorrow is you and me Cassius” He said with his fists folded…
