Reuben pocketed his hands as he stared at Nathaniel who was stating directly at him too. He took slow strides to him.

“So you’re the low life being with whom my daughter got involved with” He said

Nathaniel just kept quiet with a straight look on his face as he stared at Reuben with no hint of fear in his eyes.

Arianna made to stand but she fell back on the bed since she was feeling so weak to stand.

“Yes it’s me.. Though the video was edited, I didn’t-”

Reuben punched him before he could finished his statement before grabbing him by the collar.

“Dad,, no!!” Arianna said loudly.

Nathaniel touched the part he punched before looking at him.

“Who do you think you are to show up at my face.. How dare you even come close to my daughter” Reuben snarled.

Nathaniel folded his fists tightly. It took him all his self control not to punch him back too.

If not for the fact that it’ll implicate his mother and also the fact that he respects his elders, this man could have been lying on the hospital bed by now..

“Is it the money that you want?? Are you now trying to use my daughter into getting rich huh!!” Reuben shouted

“No, I love your daughter” He said boldly

“Love? Love!!” Reuben raised his fist to punch him again but Nathaniel held his wrist before it could land on his face.

“I allowed you to punch me the first time out of the respect I have for you as Arianna’s father and as our governor. Punch me again and I won’t think twice to retaliate” He said and released him.

“Men like you are a reason why some ladies think of our gender as monsters.. How can you do that to your own daughter” Nathaniel said angrily.

“Do I look like I care?” Reuben scoffed.

“If you don’t care then why are you so obsessed in knowing what she does and what doesn’t do.. All because of what? A fóolish obsession of wanting a male child?” Nathaniel said.

Reuben looked surprised.

“Fóolish! Do you know who I am!!” Reuben flared up.

“Our state’s governor? And so? That doesn’t make you more or less of a human being like us”

“How dare you-” Reuben raised his hand.

“Touch him and I won’t think twice in spilling out all your secrets” Beatrice said, coming in.

Reuben’s fists stopped halfway and he turned to glare at her.

“I’m done being your puppet Reuben.. Like they say, its a single droplet of water that broke the camel’s back.. Touch him and watch as I’ll drag you down” Beatrice said and came to stand in front of him.

Reuben folded his fist in anger.

“Get out of here!! You already lost the right of being Arianna’s father… Get lost!!” Beatrice spatted to his face.

“You’ll pay for this,, mark my words.. And you-” Reuben looked up at Nathaniel.

“You’ll never be with my daughter.. That’ll be over my déad body!!” He spatted.

“Then just diè already” Nathaniel said.

Reuben looked taken aback. He glared at them before storming out

His fleets of bodyguards followed him behind as the people in the hospital kept taking pictures of him.

Beatrice sighed and turned to Nathaniel. He held his hand.

“How are you? Did he hurt you?” She asked.

“I’m okay ma’am” Nathaniel said simply.

“I’m sorry we implicating you into our family mess.” Beatrice sighed.

“It’s okay.. I’m not scared of him” Nathaniel said.

He turned and looked at Arianna who was looking at him too before he faced Beatrice.

“I’ll take my leave now ma’am” He said and bowed respectfully before leaving.

Ariana fell back dejectedly on the bed. Beatrice walked to her and sat down next to her.

“How are you feeling baby?” Beatrice asked and began touching her hair.

“I’m feeling better” Arianna said.

“I’m sorry for being the worst mom one could ask of..” Beatrice said, fighting back her tears..

“It’s okay mom.. I love you” Arianna said.

“I love you more” Beatrice smiled and kissed her hair.

“I’ll never let Reuben harm you ever again.. Not when I’m still alive” Beatrice muttered.

Arianna smiled and hugged her. Beatrice smiled and began rubbing her back.

Arianna closed her eyes. This is one of the things she greatly missed

“The video…” Beatrice began.

Arianna quickly looked up at Beatrice.

“It’s fake mom,, I swéar it.. My friends told me it’s Amber’s and Julia’s handwork. I didn’t kiss him, it was edited” Arianna said.

“Amber and Julia? Thought you two were friends” Beatrice asked.

“Not anymore. They betrayed me, I’m better off without them” Arianna said.

“Okay, but that boy.. Do you like him?” Beatrice asked.

Arianna blushed and shyly looked away.

“Yes mom” She said.

Beatrice smiled and tugged a piece of her hair behind her ear.

“My baby is growing” She said.

“Well I don’t have anything against him. In fact, I immediately liked him the moment I saw him at that jewelry store..” Beatrice said.

“Okay, I’ll confess to him at the right time… Still trying to figure out my feelings well” Arianna said.

“What about Travis, that young singer. I saw him once with you” Beatrice asked.

“Well,, I just see him as friend that’s all” Arianna said.

“Okay, go on and rest.. You need that to gain energy” Beatrice said.

Arianna nodded an laid properly then closed her eyes to sleep

Nathaniel and the rest walked out the hospital while talking.

“I can’t believe Gianna would do such a thing” Dean muttered

“Me too” Lance said.

“As for me I can’t believe Nathaniel didn’t punch the governor. When I saw him enter the ward, I thought maybe some nurses with come rushing to take the governor to the emergency room” Theodore said and Nathaniel chuckled.

Well his anger is slowly dissipating and he’s going back to his normal self.

“I’m just happy Arianna is okay. I can’t believe she has been going through a those in the hands of her father and she didn’t tell us” Jasmine said sadly.

“Not like I’m different from her situation” She said inwardly

A car parked by the roadside and Travis came out of it with a huge bouquet of rose. He ran really fast inside the ward.

Nathaniel saw him and bit his lips, feeling a little bit inferior to him.

Dean, Lance, Cole and Nathaniel’s phone beeped at once and they looked at it.

“I completely forgot we were to meet with mom today as our manager” Nathaniel said inwardly.

“Um,, I need to go and… Do something at home” Nathaniel said and quickly left.

“We have a meeting with our manager” Cole said and left with the others to another direction.

“What’s wrong with them?” Linda asked, blinking.

“I don’t know.. Well since I’m the only guy here, why don’t we organize a threesome” Theodore said, holding Linda’s and Jasmine’s shoulder with him in the middle.

“As if you could handle us” Linda rolled her eyes.

“You underestimate me a lot s*xy” Theodore smirked as they left.

THE HOWARDS

“So that’s the reason for your sudden change huh!! Because of a guy!! Seriously Gianna, I know mom and dad left us when we were young but I tried my best to raise you well!!” Grayson scolded Gianna.

He was getting ready to go to work when Gianna stormed in while crying. He went to her room and asked her what’s wrong then she told him everything.

She was sitting on her bed, cuddling a pillow while crying. Her eyes were so red but she was still crying.

“I know I messed up and I’m sorry.. I’m so sorry brother, I didn’t know what came up in me” Gianna cried.

Grayson sighed.

“I’m really disappointed in you Gigi.. What if she lost her life?” Grayson said.

Gianna just kept crying.

He stood up from the stool he was sitting then went and sat next to her on the bed.

“Come here” He spread out his arms.

Gianna quickly rushed to his embrace.

“Though I’m really màd at you but, you’re my sister.. I still love you,, c’mon stop crying. You’ll fall sick if continue crying this much” He said, rubbing her back and kissed her hair.

“I’m sorry… I’m really sorry” Gianna cried.

“I’m not the one you should apologize to..” Grayson said.

Gianna nodded, slowly calming down. She eventually fell asleep in his arms.

Grayson laid her properly before standing up. He looked at her and sighed before leaving her room.

His phone and he was surprised to see it was Ingrid.

???? Please come meet me at my company, I have something important to tell you. I’m waiting please

He furrowed his brow then looked back at Gianna’s door. He went to his room and took his jacket before leaving the house.

Grayson took the taxi and it took him 5 minutes before he arrived at his destination. He got down and as expected, Ingrid was standing in front of the company.

She smiled when she saw him before approaching him.

“Gray!!” She squealed happily and hugged him. He smiled and hugged her back

“How have you been” Grayson asked as he broke the hug.

“I’m good.. Come, let’s go to my car. I have to tell you something” She said and led Grayson to his car.

They got in her car before Ingrid faced him.

“Um, the thing I wanted to tell you is that. I-” She bit her lips.

“I love you Grayson,, a lot” She said and took his hand.

Grayson looked taken aback at what he just heard.

“I just had one boyfriend in my whole life, I’ve been in love with you since we were kids.. I promise I won’t break your heart” Ingrid said and cupped his cheek.

“What do you mean by that” Grayson raised a brow.

Ingrid smiled shortly.

“I saw you and Camilla kiss. She’s my friend” Ingrid said and Grayson’s eyes widened.

“And believe me, I know her more than anyone.. You don’t know the amount of time she’s been f*cked by different men. She falls in love too easily, and who knows if she won’t forget you the moment she sees someone more handsome than you. She’s not the one for you,,, I am” Ingrid said.

“I’m sorry Ingrid but I only see you as a friend.” Grayson said.

“Please Grayson, just one chance” Ingrid began pleading.

At that moment, Camilla was going to were her car was parked too while smiling.

She just finished with work and was planning on paying Grayson a surprise visit.

“I’m sorry” Grayson muttered and made to open the car door.

Ingrid saw Camilla coming towards them and she quickly turned Grayson then slammed her lips on his. Grayson froze in shock.

Camilla who was passing by glance towards the car and made to look away but what she saw made her froze.

Grayson,,, kissing Ingrid??

Tears fell from her eyes as the grip on her bag loosen and it fell down.

Grayson got back to his senses and pushed her away. He made to speak but his eyes caught Camilla looking at them with obvious tears in her eyes.

“Oh no Camilla..” He muttered and immediately opened the car door..

Camilla cleaned her tears and picked her bag then began heading to her car which was not far from Ingrid’s car.

“Camilla! Camilla wait, it’s not what you think-” He grabbed her wrist but Camilla pushed him away and landed a slap on his cheek

“You’re just like all my exes, Heartbreakers! Don’t come near me ever again!!” She shouted in tears and went in her car then drove off immediately

Grayson’s shoulder fell as he ran his hands through his hair.

Ingrid who was in her car smiled and licked her lips.

NEXT DAY

Gianna came to school. She wasn’t putting on make up any longer and her uniform was back to it’s normal self.

???? Look, it’s Gianna

???? I can’t believe she connived with those two to do that to Arianna

???? I thought they were friends

???? Such a backstabber and b*tch!!

Gianna quickly hastened her footsteps so that she wouldn’t be hearing the students mean comment.

She got to her blog and began heading to her locker when she bumped into Nathaniel.

She looked at him and Nathaniel didn’t even spare her a glance before walking away.

She quickly cleaned the tear which was threatening to fall before going to her locker.

Gianna brought out her textbook and notebook before closing it back, same time as Linda. Their gaze met.

Linda tore her gaze away from her and left for class.

“Lin-” Gianna made to call her but guilt couldn’t allow her so she just watched her leave.

“I really f*cked up” She said inwardly as tears began brimming in her eyes.

“Here” Someone muttered beside her.

She looked at her left to see a hand holding a handkerchief. Her gaze traveled up to see it was Dean.

“You need it” He said.

“Thanks” She muttered and collected it from him before cleaning her tears with it.

Dean nodded and turned to leave..

“Dean” She called and he halted.

“I’m sorry… I’m ready to do whatever it takes for you guys to forgive me. After classes, I’ll go to the hospital and ask Arianna for forgiveness.. Can you talk to Linda and Nathaniel for me” She asked slowly.

Dean turned to her.

“I don’t know if they’ll even hear me out” Dean said.

“Just try.. Please” Gianna said in tears.

“Linda was my friend since we were kids. We practically did everything together.. I can’t believe how foólish I was to severe the relationship we shared. I don’t want to loose her,, I’m not ready” She cried while shaking her head.

Dean sighed and pulled her in for a hug. Gianna slowly hugged him back while crying.

“I’ll try” He muttered.

“Thanks very much” She muttered
