Chapter 48
(I Love You)

Emerald walked into the garden with D’ Arcy trailing behind her, she paused and folded her arms when she got to where the bench is. The school garden is not really far from their classroom, but is well covered with beautiful flowers.

Emerald finds it as a convenient place to read, sing and do any other thing she wishes to do, since many student rarely come to the garden. It’s her secret place to stay away from everyone, same as D’Arcy.

She turned to face him, not knowing how to start her question. The kiss from the previous time still lingers in her mind; she really wants to know what gingered it, and where she stands.

D’Arcy quietly watch her with his hands tucked in his pockets, he could feel her uneasiness, and wonder what is in her mind. He decided to speak up first to clear the tension.

“Why did you stop me from going after Crystal, what she did to that student wasn’t good” He stated, Emerald scoffs

“And why do you think that she will listen to you if you try to talk her out of it. She will pretend to be sorry but deep down she wants you, can’t you see it” She snapped, touching her temple. He smiled and shrugged

“So why did you call me out here, you said you have something to tell me”

“Never mind any longer, you just pissed me with your earlier question” She stated, trying to walk out of the garden, but he held her back, drawing her closer to him.

“Hey…you shouldn’t be pissed right..come on” he whispered into her ears, placing a soft kiss on it. She could feel her skin getting hot again, she pushed him a bit further, off her body, looking into his sapphire eyes

“Wh..why..are you doing this?” She asked, rather calmly

“Doing what”

“What are you doing to me, why are you making me feel this way…with your stares…your touch…and..why did you k**s me the other time…why…”

“Shh…” He cuts her off, placing his index finger on her lips. He smiled out, drawing her closer to cover up the space between

“All this happening isn’t new Emmy, the sparks..the k**s…the feelings…you feel this way because of the bond we share” he stated

She furrowed her brows

“Bond….what bond?” She asked, perplexed. He closed his eyes, heaving a loud sigh. He wished he could just tell her that she is his mate, and then gets over the crazy feral instinct.

But she won’t understand, he will just add more to her problem. How the hell does he wanna tell her that he is not from her world, that he is a vampire?

“Emerald…I’m sorry if this will sound weird, but the truth is that…I love you..i love you so much..and it’s not a sin for you to feel the same. It’s normal” He stated. She nodded, looking downward

“So can I get a hug..please” he pouted. Her face held no expression as he pulled her into a tight hug, sniffing her neck again. Her smell is so enticing; it’s making him go wild.

He can’t get enough of it, he feel like digging his fang into it to drink from her; not to satisfy his blood taste, but to make the bond stronger, he wanna feel her heartbeat in his body. He wants to be able to read her thoughts.

He broke the hug slowly, looking into her emerald eyes, he tucked behind her ear the fallen hairs, getting a better view off her face; and without thinking twice, and he slammed his lips on hers.

Sucking ferociously on her upper lips, she reciprocated in the same pace.

“What happened to just friends?” She thought. She had never wanted to have anything with a guy, but when D’Arcy came along, things began changing. She started feeling this weird attraction towards him; though she always tried not to show it.

And when he k**sed her the first time, she has never let go of the thought of wanting his lips on hers over and over again. She loves the way he nibbled on her lips, the soft bite, the way he caresses it, and suck on it like a professional.

“So what are we now…still friends..or what?” She thought. Well, that’s what she is yet to find out

He pecked her lips and smiled afterward. She tried hard not to blush; this guy is having a hard turn on her.

“Ain’t we being watched” She asked, looking around to be sure that someone didn’t catch them making out in the garden.

“Nope…I would have felt it” D’Arcy replied popping the P
She gave him a weird and funny look

“And how are you gonna feel it”
He shrugged

“My instinct”
She rolled her eyes as he laughed out

“Will you be free this evening…will like you take you out, you know…just for us to catch some cruise and get to know more about each other” She stated
“Sounds cool…I will be free” She replied, he smiled, taking her hands into his

“I think recess is over, let’s go back to class”

“Breath in…and breath out…” Drusilla voice sounded into Megan’s ears as she did according to what she was told. She had agreed to know more about her powers and how to use it.

According to Drusilla, she will have to know how to summon the power out of her inner mind, before knowing how to cast more spells.

It’s been three days now and she hasn’t set her eyes on Lazarus. Drusilla mentioned something about him being busy at the moment, and will be back soon to join in the teaching. She doesn’t know why she feels this way, but she kinda missed him; his face, their quarrel and so on.

The past three days have been a hell of reading and going through past records of lilies. Drusilla had taken her time in getting the necessary books she needed to study. She being a fast learner, haven’t just learnt about the lilies, but also about other mystic creature, like the vampires, witches, fairies, goblins, werewolves and many others.

Now she wished Martha is here to tell her more about them instead of her stocking her brains with the books. And talking of Martha, now she recognize the fact that Martha has been the true friend after all she had down to her, while Violet was the devil in sheep clothing.

She also missed her fans, her parents, and every other loved individual. She wished she could reach out to them but she can’t get her phone now, and that alone will also be a distraction. If she really wants all these to end, then she has to take up this course with full attention.

“Breathe out….now you have to clear you mind, you will be creating the force with it. You don’t need a spell to do this. The spell is you yourself. I want you to use your mind to create a heavy wind that will push these loads off. Imagine the loads in your mind and think of pushing it with a strong wind” Drusilla stated.

Megan nodded, and repeated the process again. She is currently in a sitting position with her two legs folded at each side. Her hands relaxed on it, while straightening her back.

She had cited the pack of loads in front of her, which consist of some books, bowls, knifes and the others. She is not to make a mistake this time.

She doesn’t know how to do it, but she knows she will. And just as the weird imagination started coming in, the door let out a loud bang. She gaps, forcefully opening her eyes.

The first thing she caught flying in the air was Drusilla, she was pushed by a force and landed at the far end of the room, hitting her back on the wall. She let out a soft groan.

Megan gasps again, getting on her feet. The room was already in disorder, and she had caused it, but how? It happened exactly the second she opened her eyes. The mighty force from her had made everything to be in disarray.

She quickly ran towards Drusilla and helped her up. Drusilla chuckled, stopping her

“I’m fine…don’t worry about me, you did a good job” She crooked. Megan smiled. She returned her gaze to the door, and wondered who banged it. Standing there is Lazarus with his hand in the air, stopping a knife which pointed directly to his forehead.

He had stopped it swiftly with magic, as he slowly dropped his hand. The knife fell to the floor making a clattering sound. He sighed out, looking at their direction. No one said a word, as Megan was forced to look down.

And just as if he didn’t hear her well, she mentioned something

“I…i…I’m sorry” She pleaded. He couldn’t believe she said that at first until she repeated it

“I’m sorry I lost focus” She stated. Drusilla placed her hand on her shoulder

“You tried my dear..you are a fast learner. Don’t worry, with time, you will be able to focus well, but don’t relent, work more on it. I…erm…gonna go make dinner now…I will leave you two to continue” She smiled and left.

Megan was beginning to feel uneasy; she fidgeted with her fingers, something she rarely do. Well, this change of attitude is having a good turn on her.

Lazarus on the other hand was marveled, he had just been gone for a few days, and she hasn’t just change but has also gotten a clue on how to use her powers. All thanks to Drusilla, she is indeed a good teacher and mother.

He stretched his hand forward

“Come” he muttered. Her eyes popped out, staring at him

“Erm….what” She shuttered

“Come closer…” he repeated. She hesitated

“Are you gonna scold me…or hurt me?” She asked, rather nonchalantly. He chuckled

“No…I’m not gonna do that, and I can’t do that to you” he replied. She nodded, going closer as she took his hand. Surprisingly, he pulled her into a warm hug. She exhaled, hugging him back, as they both stayed that way, having different thoughts running through their minds.

She doesn’t know how to explain this, but she hasn’t feel this safe before in the arms of someone, just like she feels now. She felt like she had been missing him for a long time and not ready to let go.

Lazarus pulled her closer into a tight hug, sniffing her intoxicating scent.
