Chapter 43

D’Arcy’s POV
Today being Saturday is the day we choose to carry out the assignment given to us as a group in school. It’s more like a project, but best part is that I have done most of it within the pace of yesterday.

Since it has to do more about vampires and other creatures, I didn’t find it hard drawing the charts and writing the necessary things. Though there are still more to do, but it isn’t much, and the group will have to do that.

I stroll down to the kitchen, and met Mrs. James preparing lunch. The group have decided to meet in my house, though Gary wasn’t in support of it at first, you know, being royalty made him wanna show off his palace, but majority carries the vote.

So he has no choice than to come down here.

“Lunch isn’t ready yet?” I asked her

“Nope…but almost..erm..i think someone is at the door” She stated as the doorbell rang

“Yea..I will go check it” I replied. I have decided to make lunch for them so that they will have enough to eat before going back home.

I opened the door as it reveals Crystal and her Barbie friends. Wait a sec, what are they doing here, and why the bags. I thought, staring down at the bags they held

“Hey handsome, ain’t you gonna let us in” Crystal winked. I almost rolled my eyes

“Hi…you are welcome…come in..” I ushered them in. Audrey and Billie also greeted me with a smile which I returned

“Wow…I can’t believe that we are the first to arrive” Billie stated, plopping her tiny butts on the couch. I shook my head, walking towards them

“Erm…why the bags..” I asked

“Oh…we are gonna sleep over..” Crystal replied with a broad and slutty smile

“What! But why? We didn’t plan for that”

“Yes…but I made the suggestion, the others knows about it”

“But I wasn’t told about the change of plans”

“Yea..sorry about that,…now you know”

“Why the sudden sleepover”

“I think you ain’t current, Mrs. Webster added to our project, you didn’t check the group chats online.

She wanted us to do more of drawings. Bring out your phone and check it yourself, it will save me the stress of explaining. Anyways.. I brought lots of cardboards and paints” She stated, as Billie nodded.

I scoff

Sometimes, Billie acts like an idiot, only Audrey seem to gat some senses.

“Ok…fine…so you all will sleep over and then we continue the work tomorrow, right?”

“Yes…we only have today and tomorrow, we are submitting it on Monday” She muttered, taking off her shoes.

“Damn..this is bullshit..more work for the night then” I cursed.

Emerald’s POV
“Hey girl..why are you suddenly sad?” I asked as I watched Rose’s changed mood. She was happy about going for the group assignment in Dave’s house earlier, especially now that Crystal had suggested a sleepover.

We are in my room, getting the necessary things we need in a bag. Dave’s house is just stone throw away, I don’t think we need to go with anything being that I can easily come back to my house when we are done, but Rose doesn’t want it that way.

Since it’s gonna be a sleepover, then we sleepover, she had said.
She pouted

“Emmy..am I not beautiful” She asked. I sighed knowing what she is up to again

“Sure girl..you are..but why asking such question”

“Then why is Gary ready to ditch me for another girl. I can’t remember doing anything wrong to him to warrant all those insults he gives me at any slight chances, and the break up…hum..it still affects me a lot.” She cried out, sobbing.

I drew closer to hug her, patting her back.

“Girl…I know how hurt breakup makes one feels, but this is not the end of the world. If you had given me the chance to beat that dude up for breaking your fragile heart, I wouldn’t have given it a second thought.

He had lost a very big opportunity; he doesn’t deserve a good girl like you. Gary is a cheat and this is not the first time he is changing girls. I never wanted you for him from the start anyways..”

“But I love him…I…I..love him so much” She shuttered
“Then you have to cheer up, and let go. You can’t keep on running after him; he should be the one running after you”

She nodded

“You know….he is gonna be present for the group work…getting to see him reminds me of our lovely moments together. I don’t know why he suddenly changed”

“Hmm…you know what, I think you should cheer up Rose, and don’t act sad in front of him. Make he believe that you weren’t hurt by the break up, make him long to have you back with the happy smiles you place on your face.

He won’t even dare to insult you this time, not until my watch” I stated with rolled eyes. She chuckled

“Yea..you are always my knight in shining armour..I wonder if you will ever get a boyfriend with the way you box guys..hhaaha” she laughed

“Nahh..I ain’t ready for any relationship now. I might end up pulling the poor guy’s teeth if he pissed me off
We both laughed and decided that it was time to move.

“Where are you both going too” Daniel asked as we walk down the stairs. His eyes were on Rose, as his smile brightens. This guy wouldn’t stop his fantasies

“Dave’s house, we are having a group assignment which will take long to complete, so we are gonna sleep over.” I replied him

“Woahh…then be expecting me for the sleep over, I believe you guys will play some games right”
I rolled my eyes and hissed

“We ain’t going for game..Dan…”

“I will be there later in the day..bye” he cuts in, turning to face the TV
“Tsk. Let’s get out of here” I mumbled as Rose chuckled from behind

Megan’s POV
Opening my eyes slowly, it came in contact with the golden rays of the sun, which had made its way in through the slightly opened window.

I heave a sigh of relief, getting up on the bed. My back no longer ache, and that sudden weakness had wear off.

I stared round the room; I am still not back in my room. I thought all that happened earlier was a dream, but it’s actually real. I am currently in an unknown place with that beast.

And speaking of him, where could he be. I asked, but got no reply, except an enticing aroma coming from another room; must be the kitchen. It won’t hurt to take a walk round the house right?

Kicking the blanket off, I place my feet into the slippers available, and heads out of the door. I followed my instinct and the aroma which led into the kitchen.

I paused staring at the figure backing me. This isn’t the devil..is she his sister, I thought, as she tuned to face me with a smile.

“Finally awake huhn…come here take this..” She said, handling me a cup of coffee. I hesitated a bit, not wanting to collect it at first, but the alluring smell from it made me do otherwise. I quickly gulp down the content, which gave a brief relief to my throat.

She chuckled, collecting the cup

“Who are you” I found myself asking
“Oh…don’t mind my manners, I am Drusilla…I used to a God mother to Lazarus..when he was little” She smiled, going to drop the cup, as she turned the content in the pot she was cooking with.

I frown. How will she be a God mother to someone like him and still look so young?
“You don’t look like one to me” I resorted

“Why…darling”

“You look so young to be a God mother to a grown man. And why is your skin so pale?” I asked, trying not to sound too nice

She chuckled

“Because I‘m not like you Megan..i’m from a different race, species..a different world”
I shook my head, I can’t process what she is talking about.
“Then why am I here, what do you both want with me..and where the hell is that…erm..whatever?” I asked, trying my best not to call him a devil in front of her

She smiled

“His name is Lazarus..and erm..he went to get some things I think. I don’t know if I am in the best position to tell you why you are here?”

“Then what’s this place..it looks like an ancient house to me”

“This is my house. It’s in the outskirt of both the human and vampire world. No one can come here unless I give them access; it’s greatly secured with magic”

“You have magic”
“Yes..and you have move supernatural powers that you are yet to find out”

“What are you talking about” I resorted
She pointed to my wrist. I glance at the feathery tattoo that had appeared not long ago

“And what does this have to do with magic”

“You are a lily Megan, a blessing to the human race, keeper of magic itself. You have the power to rule over the vampires and witches alike.

The only thing you need to know now is how to make use of it, which I am going to teach you” She smiled

I gave her this funny look, not knowing if I should laugh or cry. I mean, all she said isn’t true right, she is clearly spitting rubbish. The last time I checked, I didn’t attend any magic school
The next thing that left my mouth was a hilarious laughter.

She didn’t say anything but stared at me in a confuse state

“Look Miss, when you are done with the food, you know my room. I rather eat good food this morning, than all this rubbish you are spitting out of your mouth…whatever” I cursed, heading back to the room

“Hmm…rude” I heard her muttered, but who cares. I have always been rude
