EPISODE 15

 

 

Mrs Laura was calm and collected as she spoke to the man Infront of her… She glanced at Anna and signaled her to bring tow cups of tea..

 

Anna rushed to the make tea and came back with two cups..

One for the guest and one for her mom.

“As you know I have only two daughters and they mean everything to me so I naturally wanna make sure they live a perfect and happy life… So I’m gonna ask you why you’re hanging out with my daughter, I’m sure they’re so many pretty socialites that you could easily get married to, why her?” She asked…

Anna gulp down a non existent saliva as she waited for his response..

The last time they met she’d stolen his diamond wrist watch and sold it at the black market at the right price…

“True but I choose her before she’s different from the rest.” More like a petty thief. He completed in his thoughts and winked at Anna who was nervously staring at him…

Was she scared?

He couldn’t believe she could only show such expression Infront of her Mom..

She’d put up a brave front when she was with him but here she was acting like a innocent doll…

“Are you only playing with her or you wanna marry her?”she narrowed her eyes at him..

She couldn’t believe someone like Lucas Caine was in love with her daughter..

“Yeah I wanna marry her and spend the rest of my life with her .” He answered with a soft smile it was hard to tell if he was lying..

They thought he was a arrogant and a narcissist but what they didn’t know was that he was always respectful to elderly women, Mother’s to be precise..

Anna fell on the couch when she couldn’t stand in heels anymore…

“Forgive my manners but I just wanna be sure all this isn’t for show.” Mrs Laura finally smiled at him softly..

 

Of course it’s all for show, he wanted to say..

“I really wanna marry her as soon as possible, I’ll be getting the marriage certificate first then plan a grand wedding later if that’s okay with you Mom in law.” He suggested and Anna didn’t know whether to laugh or cry..

Is this a planned situation or what?

“Of course not! You can get your marriage certificate today if you want I don’t mind dear but remember to keep the promise of planning a grand wedding.” She smiled warmly..

“She deserves a grand wedding but unfortunately I can’t wait to get married to her..” he glanced at Anna with a smile that was bright enough to blind her..

“Aww this is so sweet.. so tell me how did you guys meet? Or was it love at first sight?” This is was something she was dying to know…

She knew her daughter to be the aggressive type and also suspects her of being the first one to fall in love…

“We met when I almost ran into her and that was love at first sight for her when she saw me, she kept pestering me and coming over to wait at the entrance of my company untill I eventually gave in and eventually began to fall for her slowly and also couldn’t do without her.” Anna almost cough out blood as she listened to his lies..

Her mom was seriously getting soaked with his lies she was grinning from ear to ear…

“I’m so happy for you both… I give you my approval Mr Lucas.” She was genuinely happy for her stubborn daughter…

 

It was strange how the mother and daughter pair were nothing alike…

Mrs Laura was a pretty awesome soul while the daughter was the direct opposite of her mother…

She was a liar and thief whose motives he couldn’t understand.. why not get married and see what’s gonna happen next…

“Oh please call me Lucas , Mom in law.. ” he chuckled and Anna was having a bad feeling about this man..

Everything about him screamed danger..

“Okay Son, I shouldn’t keep you guys anymore. You can leave now.”
