On the other side of the day, Bwalya was home alone walking up and down in the kitchen cooking in advance before he could leave for work around 12 hours.

That’s when he remembered he hadn’t told Max what he had done, he got his phone and immediately dropped his pal a text.

BWALYA: “911.”

MAX: “You know am at work, don’t scare me with 911.”

BWALYA: “But its an emergency.”

MAX: “What’s the emergency about? Don’t tell me you have finished the Jam already…”

BWALYA: “It’s not about about that. I just used your name again.”

MAX: “What! what did we agree on last time? why can’t you make up a name like the rest of the guys.”

BWALYA: “I couldn’t, it was the cute small girl from next door that asked me. And she’s a student Nurse. lol.”

MAX: “I don’t get you at times. Don’t expect me to say am Bwalya. Am done playing such games on your behalf.”

Bwalya tried his best to convince Max to play along with his little game but his friend wasn’t for the idea. From texts it went to a dragging phone call were Bwalya pleaded with Max.

When asked why he wanted Max to play along, Bwalya explained that he didn’t want to mess up the image that Maluba had already created of him. However, Max laughed strongly and cleared the smoke by explaining to his friend that Maluba would hate him more of she found out that she was being tricked.

“Trust me, girls don’t like guys who lie.” Max said as he giggled.

“You have been single since have known you, how would you know such a thing?” Bwalya asked.

“Just because am single doesn’t mean I don’t have female friends ala!” Max said.

“So how do I tell the cute small one that am not Max?” Bwalya asked.

“Don’t say anything. Does the terminator know your name?” Max asked.

“Terminator? you really evil at times you know. Her name is Maluba, don’t go around calling her those funny names.” “She doesn’t know my name. I didn’t tell her.” Bwalya said happily. “Will talk later. Let me get ready for work. And another thing, the Peanut butter is finished.” He laughed out loud as he cut the line.

Samuel who wasn’t paying attention to Max as he spoke on the phone was greeted with a shake on the shoulder.

“You need to snap out of it. That’s my neighbor.” Max exclaimed.

“So what if she’s you neighbor? Stop acting funny. Besides, a girl like her, am sure she’s dating already. You wanted to ask me something before Bwalya called, what was it?” Samuel asked calmly as he was just disturbed from his day dream.

“I know it will sound stupid, but don’t laugh.” Max cleared his throat.

“Am not making any promises.” Samuel commented.

“You such a pain. What is the best thing to do if a pupil hits you DM?” Max asked.

Samuel didn’t say anything, he thought it out before he finally smiled. At least that was better than having him laugh.

“Your DM isn’t a government place. You have every right to reply.” Samuel responded as he got a few books to mark.

“You didn’t have to be so loud you know.” Max said politely.

“Social media is a different world. Why would you ask me such a thing even, you not the type of guy who can fall for a school girl.” Samuel said boldly, however Max’s face was low.

“Wait, have you fallen for a school girl?” Samuel asked him in a whisper.

“No I haven’t. there is just this certain pupil I want to check on facebook that’s all.” He responded nervously.

“And what do you plan on doing after you done stalking her? block her?” Samuel laughed.

Monday wasn’t anyone’s favorite day. Just like the rest were having a beating day that drained them, Rose on the other side of Chililabombwe was also having a bad day.

By the time Men go dropped her off, they had stopped talking to each other. The fact that Bwalya was topless had become a big issue that had dragged on and couldn’t be ignored.

Because of that, Rose got upset and asked Men go if he was jealous. Since then, the two automatically went on a tempro break up. Not only that, It was lecture after lecture with a lot of assignments to do.

‘I can’t wait to finish.’ Rose said to herself as she open a Shake and Sip bottle.

Her phone vibrated, it was Mengo’s 15th text in a roll. She had not opened any.

‘Who does he think he is… one minute his romantic and the next his busy acting like an animal.’ She frowned as she kept looking at her phone.

The desire to text back was there but it was just to much, she knew very well she loved him, but how he treated just broke her every single time.

Rose had met Mengo through a friend when she attended a social gathering party. He was slick and just had a way with words. It was that very reason she got swept off her feet.

He was the type of guy that would make sure to text every single day just to say hi. She smiled mischievously by the thought of his soft lips kissing her neck.

However, for the past 5 months things had taken a twist. He wasn’t the man she loved.A day wouldn’t go by without finding a fault in her, if that wasn’t happening, then he was busy lying to her about being at his Uncles place.

They spent less time together in public, it was always private places as if he was hiding from someone. As things stood, every time they met he would get her phone and start going through her conversations. From Whatsapp, Facebook and lastly her direct massages. If he found any guy that was constantly chatting with her, that would mean he would block that guy. Mengo had turned into the worst kind of man Rose thought she would have to date.

Rose sighed, she had promised herself never to suffer because of a man. However, without even realizing it her whole entire social life was based on what Mengo wanted and expected of her.

‘Maluba was right after all, I need to stand up more for myself.’ She spoke calmly beneath her breath, ‘If I continue being in this relationship for the sake of love my future will be intoxicated and I will be bound by a such a man for ever after. Yuck!’ She said disgustingly as she shook her head.

‘But how do I tell him I want a break, he might go crazy and start doing funny things.’ She took a deep breathe.

She was now stuck with a man who seemed confused and suicidal. The fear of him doing something drastically stupid really made Rose’s knees week.

Peter on the other hand had finished all he was doing, and used his privileges as Manager to knock of early so that he could help Chongolo with some work at the boutique.

Being sober for 3 months wasn’t easy for him, nevertheless, he wasn’t going to give in, her was determined to be the best husband he could be; for him that meant supporting his wife in every way he could as she also did the same for him.

Apart from him, this was his way of making up for how foolish he behaved a couple of months ago. He turned the volume up as he played Confidence by Chris Brown. The thought of him having kids made him smile as it crossed his mind.

Nyambe and Chongolo were done talking about relationships and we’re now catching up with life and what was knew in their lives. Nyambe had told Chongolo that she had somewhere to be but really wanted to meet Peter as it had been long since she saw him.

“I still find it hard to believe that you ended up marrying Peter of all the disciples.” Nyambe said with a laugh.

“I still find it hard to believe myself. I mean me and Peter never saw eye to eye. But the dude is determined eish, once he puts his mind to something nothing can stand in his way. And that still turns me on about him.” Chongolo giggled shyly.

“You can say that again. I just pray he continues to be sober, you know.” Nyambe laughed as she agreed with her friend.
