CHAPTER SIXTY-SEVEN

 

 

Two weeks later, Xavier was discharged was from the hospital after telling them he was fine. His wife wanted him to stay Abit longer for observation but he bluntl refused to stay in that God forsaken place.

The Maybach pulled up Infront of the mansion and all the servants lined up outside to welcome their boss.

Gabrielle got outta the car first and helped him outta the car..

Xavier rolled his eyes at his wife for being so dramatic..

“Welcome back Lord Xavier..”the bowed in respect..

“Thank you everyone.” He smiled at them for the first time in years.. they couldn’t help but smile happily..

Gabrielle held her husband and together they walked into the mansion and headed straight for the second floor..

“Wifey you have been acting like I’m a fragile little girl about to break. Is there something you’re not telling me?” Xavier smirked playfully the moment they walked into the master bedroom..

His hands were shoved into his pocket as he stared at his wife..

She had been acting really weird and he couldn’t help but feel something was wrong.

Was it guilt or something else?

Gabrielle tried not to meet his eyes as she looked anywhere else but his eyes..

She acted like someone caught stealing..

“I…. nothing…I was only worried…” She shuttered and that gave her away..

Xavier knew his wife better than anyone else so he could tell when she was hiding something from him..

He walked towards her slowly and every step felt like hell for Gabrielle, she didn’t want to hide anything from him but doctor Frank insisted she kept it away till he was fine and back on his feet..

He raised his hand the moment he got closer and Gabrielle closed her eyes in fear that he was gonna hit her..

Xavier saw this and sigh as he placed his hand on her hair and stroke it..

” You look pale Love, I know something is wrong so don’t think of lying to me.” His voice was deep and Gabrielle knew she won’t be able to hide it forever..

“I…I… I’m fine there’s nothing wrong, you’re just overthinking.” She kept her eyes on her fingers as hot tears clouded her vision..

She refused to let it out, she refused to break down in front of him..

“Look at me love.” He spoke softly but Gabrielle couldn’t bring herself to stare into his eyes…

She was afraid she would break down if she stare into his eyes..

“I need to shower..” she made an excuse and tried to walk away but he pulled her back by the hand and saw the tears in her eyes….

“Don’t do this to us Gabby, I love you so much I won’t want you to get hurt… We p no more secrets…” Helplessness flashed in his eyes and Gabrielle almost broke down in tears..

“I …..I.. I’m not ready..” she whispered and freed her hand from his and ran into the bathroom leaving a sad Xavier behind..

She shut the door and broke down in tears…

How could she tell him that she lost his child while he was in a coma?

He is probably gonna hate her after finding out, she didn’t take care of herself while he was In a coma and lost their baby due to her carelessness..

He got shot because of her and he lost his baby because of her…

Gabrielle didn’t think she would be able to live with the guilt..

She clenched her dress and tried so hard to stifle her sobs…

Gabrielle dragged herself to the bathtub and filled it with cold water and stepped into it without taking off her clothes..

She relaxed inside the tub and closed her eyes while the cold water slowly began to relief her tensed muscles.

Gabrielle stayed that way and fell asleep inside the cold ignoring the fact that she could get cold easily..

Xavier waited for her to come out but didn’t come out after 45minutes..

He got restless and rushed into the bathroom only to find her laying in the tub and face had become paler..

“Gabrielle!” He rushed towards her and took outta the water but frown when he noticed how cold the water was..

“Open your eyes Gabrielle!” He was clearly panicking as he picked her up in bridal style and rushed outta the bathroom…
