CHAPTER SIXTY-SIX

 

The doctors arrived shortly and found awake. they couldn’t help but heaved a sigh of relief.

“How do you feel lord Xavier? Does your legs hurt? Do you feel abnormal pain anywhere?” Frank bombard him with questions as he kept his eyes on the patient tab on his hand.

“I feel dizzy and my legs feels weak I guess.”he answered honestly and the doctor kept writing everything down..

“It’s normal to feel that way… I’ll advise you stay in the hospital for a few more days so we can closely monitor your health.” Frank insisted and Xavier couldn’t say no.

Once the doctor had left, Gabrielle sat down beside him and kept her eyes on him like he was gonna disappear if she turn around for a second.

“Are you hungry? Do you wanna eat something?” Gabrielle asked with concern written all over her face.

He smiled and sneaked his arms around her waist.

“Yeah I’m hungry for my wife alright…”he planted a kiss on her nose bridge earning a glare from her.

“I’m talking about food stupid!” She stood up unhurriedly and picked up the lunch box on the coffee table.

She unboxed the meal and brought a spoonful of fried rice to his lips.

He opened up without hesitation..it was one of the rare moments of his wife feeding him.

She kept feeding him and Xavier noticed she’d not eaten a thing.

“You should eat more love you look so thin.” Xavier wiped off the rise crumbs on her lips with his thumb.

Gabrielle was happy everything was over so ate more and smiled more.

That man was gone from their lives for Good and Her husband is back to her so there was no point in being sad.

Gabrielle was so lost in her thoughts that she didn’t notice the tears that rolled down her cheeks..

Xavier became alarmed by her tears and quickly wiped them off..

“Did I say something wrong wifey? Are you okay?” Xavier cupped her face with a worried expression plastered on his face.

Gabrielle didn’t know whether to laugh or cry at his expression.

“No dear I’m just happy everything is finally over but I must say you look cute when you’re worried.” She giggled and he heaved a sigh.

“Come here.” His hoarse voice made it impossible for her to disobey she stood up and moved closer to him..

He made her sit beside him and pulled her in for a kiss. She tried to resist to avoid opening up his wounds but Xavier didn’t care and really wanted to kiss those lips.

“Xavier.” She called out his name in the sexiest voice he has ever heard.

“Don’t worry love I’m fine.” He planted kisses all over her face making her giggle for it felt ticklish..

“You need to rest, you haven’t fully recovered.” Gabrielle was worried about his health..

“Come lay down with me.” He patted the space beside him and Gabrielle was hesitating.

“What if I ended up opening up your wounds?” She voiced out her concerns but didn’t care at all.

 

with no choice she got in the bed which was more than enough for two of them.

He covered them with the sheets and held her in his arms like a delicate flower.

“You’re so beautiful I’m sure our baby is gonna inherit your traits.” Xavier tapped her nose playfully making her blush.

“It’s good you know you I’m more beautiful.. you literally can’t compare.” She huffed earning a low chuckle from him..

“That’s right my wife is the fairest of them all no one can compare.” He praised his wife making her blush heavily.

He tucked a strand of her hair behind and kissed her forehead.

“I love you..”
