CHAPTER FOURTY THREE

 

 

Gabby couldn’t breathe no matter how hard she tried but to avail as she felt surfocated.

She held onto her neck tightly as she tried to exhale but it only got worst. She remembered her doctor told her even the smallest doze of strawberry could ki*ll her.

Was she dying?

“Ma’am we have a problem.” She heard one of the goons whispered into her kidnapper’s ear whose face paled instantly.

Gabby’s vision became blurry as the gunshots and screams seem to fade as she slowly closed her eyes unable to bear it anymore she blacked out.

The last thing she remembered was being carried out by someone.

Gabby’s eyes flushed opened immediately and looked at the unfamiliar ceiling.

She just had the weirdest dream ever.

“You’re awake.” She heard that familiar hoarse voice and she tried moving only to fall back in pain.

“Argh! sh*t!” She cursed out in pain Xavier immediately refrained her from moving as she please.

“Don’t move to avoid getting your stitches opening up again.” He said softly and Gabby began to remember the event that placed her In this condition.

“So it wasn’t a dream?” Who was she kidding she almost died in the hands of a lunatic.

She quietly engulfed him Ina tight hug only to groan again.

“Stop moving okay?” He Coux her and Gabby felt her eyes become teary.

For a moment she was scared she would die for he would get to her.

“Hm. But I want to hug you.” She mumbled amidst pain.

He smiled softly and stroke her hair gently.

“You need to rest more and get well soon so you can hug me as much as you want.” He said and Gabrielle once again shook her resolve.

“What about her?” She asked about Michelle.

“Don’t worry about that and just focus on getting better okay? I’ll be right back.” He planted a kiss on her forehead and wanted walking around but she held onto his hand instinctively.

“I’m just going call the doctor.” He gave a assuring smile and she let go.

That event made her realize how badly she has seen lying to herself and also not treasuring what she’d.

She didn’t wanna loose him, the fear of loosing him made her wanna stick to him like glue forever.

He walked outta the ward and came back shortly with the doctor whom she remembered as Frank.

“Hello ma’am how are you feeling today?” Frank asked with a smile and Gabby returned his smile.

“I feel like sh*t.” She said honestly.

Her entire body feels like she’d gone through a transmigration process.

“She was stabbed on her shoulder and thigh but fortunately it wasn’t really deep so she’s gonna be fine. If you’d arrived a minute late she would have died.” Frank explained the situation to Xavier who listens with a cold expression.

“Hm.” Xavier nodded without saying a word.

Had he been a minute late?

“I’ll have the nurse give her painkillers later. Meanwhile you should never go anywhere near strawberries it could ki*ll you..” Frank further said.

“Okay got it.”

“That would be all then.” He said and excused himself.

“Are you hungry? Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?” Xavier bombard her with questions earning a chuckle from her.

“Let’s just stay together for awhile okay?” She stretched forth her hand and he took it.

He seem like he has not slept for a while.

“Come with me, there’s enough space for two of us.” She patted the space beside her.

“But your injury-”

“Don’t worry I know you’re gonna be careful.” She smiled sweetly and he had no option but to get in bed with her.

Gabby rested her head on his shoulder while secretly inhaling his scent.

“You look terrible.” She mumbled and he heaved a sigh.

“You got me worried to death Gabby.” How could he tell her he almost went crazy and killed every single one of them Saving Michelle for Last.

He was gonna give her the more gruesome death ever.

Xavier lost every single bit of self me left in him and killed every single person present in the warehouse.

It was a blood bath in there.

“I’m sorry…”
