Chapter 02

NEXT MORNING

“Oh, my little boy is now a grown-up man” Eric’s mother said and pinched his cheek.

“Come on mom, it’s not like I’ll leave forever” Eric smiled.

“Behave okay? Be a good boy and also don’t wander too far away from the school. Demons or vampires might be out there” She said.

He nodded. He didn’t even tell his family his encounter with the vampires yesterday. They will never let him go if he did so.

He turned to his father who was standing beside his mother with a cool expression on her face.

“Be safe son” He smiled.

Eric nodded with a smile on his face too.

“I sure will miss you all dad” He replied.

He then crouched down and picked Calvin up then ruffled his hair.

“Champion…” He called.

“Will miss you big bro” He pouted and tugged on his hoodie.

Eric kissed his cheek…

“Will miss you too” He placed him down and stood up properly then picked up his luggage.

“Bye, I’ll come visit during holidays” Eric waved and entered the bus that came to pick him up. His family waved goodbye at him till it was out of sight.

Eric looked in front when his family was out of view. His gaze traveled around the people who were in this bus with him. All those student passed the selection test.

The selection test is a very tedious test where the student were tested on all kinds of dangerous mission. He was lucky he passed it alive.

All the people sitting in the bus with him were around his age. Boys and girls he’s never seen their faces before.

“Hello” Eric waved at a guy sitting beside him.

The guy looked at him an then looked away without sparing him a word.

“I think I should mind my business from now” Eric connected his headset and played a music before closing his eyes.

He never knew when and how he fell asleep….

“Wake up, hey wake up!!” A girl slapped Kadence up.

She sprang up on bed looking shocked. When did she fall asleep. She looked up and saw Zara.

Zara is her sister. The girl wearing bitchy clothes, that’s her. Actually, they don’t get along and no one knows why.

Kadence was brought up by Zara’s father, she’s adopted. Ever since their father died, Zara and her mother changed bitterly towards Kadence. Short, she became their slave. They removed her from school and made her their personal maid.

“What are you still doing here sleeping. The customers are adding in number and mother wants you to help her in the restaurant” Zara rolled her eyes and walked out of her room, shaking her huge butt. It’s still early in the morning and she’s already done her makeup.

Kadence sighed and sat up on bed. Her stomach grumbled in hunger. They starved her last night and now, they want her to go and work with an empty stomach. This life is so unfair.

Nevertheless, Kadence stood up from her bed and brushed her teeth before walling out of her room heading to a small building nearby, her mother’s restaurant.

As usual, the customers flocked the restaurant. Well it’s morning and people want to fill their hungry stomachs with something delicious.

“The queen has finally woken up” Ximena, Zara’s mother sarcastically said when Kadence walked in the kitchen.

“Sorry mother” She smiled.

Ximena looked at her and concentrated back on her cooking. He dished out a plate of food and then stretched it to Kadence.

“Here, eat up. You must be hungry” Ximena mumbled….

Kadence took it and smiled then bowed.

“Thanks mother” She smiled and found a place to seat and eat.

Ximena smiled discreetly and resumed her work. Well that’s how Ximena and Kadence’s relationship is. She’s really strict to Kadence but always shows her love to Kadence in a special way.

Zara glared at Kadence as she stood by the doorstep. She turned and walked away in anger.

“Stop the car please? I’m kinda hungry” Eric said. They’ve been driving for almost two hours now and still they’ve not reached where they were going.

“Alright, everybody has 5 minutes to relax his or herself” The driver said and halted the bus.

Eric got down the car and looked round the area. He saw a house not too far and people were gathered around, plus he saw others walking out with wrappen in their hands.

“Bingo!!” Eric smiled and walked up to the house and entered. All eyes turned to him… Zara who was coming from the kitchen paused and drooled over his handsome face.

“This is weird” He mumbled as he saw all those eyes staring at him.

He walked to the counter trying to ignore the gazes.

“Excuse me” He said.

Kadence looked up with her mouth full. Ximena just went out so it’s her. She kept the plate aside and stood up. Her gaze met with that of Eric.

“How may I help you sir” She smiled.

Eric looked at her for a while. She’s really pretty….

“Uhm….can I have some fish cake?” He stuttered.

“Alright” Kadence nodded and wrapped the fish cakes which were already made then handed it to him.

“That will be 10$” She said and smiled.

“Alright” Eric brought out the money and paid her. Their hands touched as Kadence made to collect the money. Eric felt some sparks going on…

“Thanks” Kadence said.

“Have a nice day” She added.

Eric nodded and took one last look at her before leaving….

He entered the bus, same as the others before it moved away. The bus began moving again since the student were all back.

Eric munched on the fish cake and smiled.

“Tasty” He mumbled and began pressing his phone.

It took almost an hour again for the bus to reach it’s destination.

“We’ve arrived.” The driver announced.

Eric looked out of the window and smiled. He could only see the majestic school from where he was sitting.

He got down the bus carrying his luggage. Another bus stopped opposite the bus he came with. The people began coming out of the bus.

“Eric” Someone called his name.

He looked up and smiled as he saw Lisa, Connor and Nora. They arrived through the other bus.

“Can’t believe we’re finally here. My dream school!!” Lisa screamed while twirling around.

A man suddenly appeared in front of the people gathered there. He looked so young and handsome too with his casual wear.

“Welcome to Diamond high everyone” He spoke which got the attention of everyone towards him.

“Here is a school were we get to train students of all categories possessing supernatural powers. Feel free to ask question when you have a worry. It should also be noted that this school isn’t just for supernatural like you but it’s also for human. You can mingle with them but never, I mean never pull any stunt that will blow up our cover. That’s really punishable” He said.

The students all nodded and murmurs began. He raised his hand and the murmurs died down…

“Here’s the number to your rooms. Each room is entitled to three students” He raised his hand and keys appeared in their hands.

Eric looked at his own…

“Of course there’s girl’s and boy’s hostel. Now go to your respective rooms. We have a general meeting today at 5pm.” The man said and teleported away.

The door to the school swung open and they all walked in, heading to their prescribed room.

“Alright, see you guys later.” Lisa waved and walked away.

Connor and Nora went their ways too. Eric looked at the key in his hand with the room number written on it.

He stepped in the school and his eyes took in the hugeness of the school. The students were all walking up and down dressed in their school uniform.

Eric picked up his luggage and began walking round the school, he passed the different classes but he still continued walking.

He walked till his foot was already aching. That’s when he spotted the boy’s hostel for supernatural. Well he recognized it due to the sign board written ‘do not enter’. No wonder it was this far, that was to avoid the human from wandering here.

There’s four hostel in total. Boy’s hostel for supernatural and boy’s hostel for the normal human likewise for the girls.

He walked through the corridor, checking his key number on the room doors…

“Finally!” He exclaimed as he saw his room. He open the door with the help of the key and then walked in the room.

Two boys were in the room. One was busy eating on his packet of chips while manipulating his laptop and the other was coming out of the bathroom.

“Hi” Eric waved at them.

“Oh, it’s our new roomie. Hey, please come in” The guy using the laptop said.

The other one walked to his wardrobe in order to get something to wear. Eric walked in fully and closed the door.

“Uhm, I’m Eric. Nice meeting you guys, hope we’ll get along” Eric smiled.

“You look handsome. I’m Gideon and that’s Romeo” He said.

“Hey” Romeo said and wore his shirt then walked up to them.

“You look like a cool guy” Romeo snaked his hand round his neck and ruffled his hair.

Eric was taken by surprise when he did that. Romeo then released him.

“So which ability do you possess?” Gideon asked.

“I’m a water bender, I control and manipulate the element of water.” Eric replied.

“That must be nice, I’ve heard that those who have the ability to control the various elements are strong. You must be the real deal.” Gideon smiled.

“Thanks” Eric said.

“As for me, I fight with my rope. I can manipulate it how I want.” Gideon said.

“And I’m a werewolf” Romeo shrugged.

“That’s really cool powers you two have” Eric said.

Gideon stood up from the bed…

“Come on, let’s fix your things in the extra wardrobe before time for the general meeting comes” Gideon said.

“Omg!!! You’re so pretty and hot!!” A girl screamed and almost jumped on Lisa. Luckily she dodged her which made her land on the floor.

“Is it the girl I’m gonna stay with, she’s a freak!!” Lisa muttered.

She looked round the room and no one apart the two of them was there. Great! She’s stuck with a freak!

The girl stood up while rubbing her head. She smiled as she faced Lisa.

“Hello, nice to meet you. I’m Sophia and you?” She said and stretched her hand to Lisa.

“Thanks, I’m Lisa” She replied and took her handshake. Sophia shaked her hand vigorously.

“Omg. Can we be friends?” She rushed her words. Lisa removed her hand from her grip.

“Geez, okay but on one condition. No more craziness” Lisa said.

Sophia nodded immediately. Well this girl called Sophia has a lot of stamina in her.

“Are you the only one in this room?” Lisa looked round the room.

“Yeah, I sometimes talk to myself out of boredom. Thank heavens your my room mate now” Sophia smiled.

“Alright, I like your enthusiasm” Lisa said and opened an empty wardrobe. She began arranging her stuffs in it.

“What’s your ability?” Lisa asked.

“Me? Well, I’m a changeling.” Sophia replied.

“Really? Just like my best friend. You’ll soon meet her” Lisa said.

Suddenly, they heard a bell ring loudly. Sophia stood up from the bed she was sitting.

“It’s time for meeting. Let’s go before Sir Michael punishes us” Sophia said and pulled Lisa out of the room.
