CHAPTER 85

Alexa’s p.o.v

One month.

One month has passed since I left Justin.

I haven’t seen him ever since I left his house, which is good because I don’t want to see him again.

If he loves me like he claimed, he won’t ask me to leave him.

He won’t tell me to go.

He could have fought for us….

He could have been strong for us…..

But rather, he asked me to leave.

I am just stressed because of so many problems at home plus my cousins are demons.

They are currently eating the breakfast that I have cooked for them.

They live in my father’s house in California.

Ever since they heard about my mother’s death and my uncle suddenly ran bavkrupt, my aunty Rachael suddenly moved into the house with Mara and Samuel [my cousins] everything changed for me.

I could still remember my mom death. It was something I didn’t expect.

It happened right after we were free from Justin.

After having breakfast with my cousins, I finally got my stuff ready for work.

At exactly seven o’clock I left my house. I didn’t say goodbye to my aunt and cousins because they were already in the room, probably sleeping or gisting and I didn’t want to disturb them.

Where I work is not far from my house.

Actually that was not how it seemed.

I only walk to work because it saves my money which is good for me.

When I arrived at the hotel where I was working, the security men there greeted me and also my workmates and I responded well.

I quickly changed into my working clothes, just then my friend, Mitchell, called me.

“Alexa, good morning.” She hugged me.

“Morning.” I replied her.

“I don’t know why, but madam is so angry and hot headed this morning. She has been looking for you for a while now. Just go to her.” Mitchell suggested and held me by the arm.

“But wh…why…? Did I do something wrong?” I asked her feeling more nervous.

I don’t know why I’m feeling double nervous today.

I have a bad feeling something bad is about to happen.

“I don’t know. I don’t know Alexa. Just hurry and go see her.”

“Okay.” I replied with a nod.

As we were walking and waiting for the elevator to open, I saw a familiar face.

The nervousness I was feeling, flew away.

It can’t be!

No…

I might have mistaken him for another person.

That is impossible.

Relax Alexa, I’m sure I am mistaken.

Even if we see each other, he won’t recognize me anymore.

That is correct!

Relax Alexa.

I inhaled and exhaled.

‘Ting’ [Elevator sound]

As soon as the door, opened we were rig out.

I was just following Mitchell as we walked towards madam’s office.

I was nervous and sweating even if when I feel cold.

I was also feeling dizzy and my stomach felt like it was spinning.

“Alexa…we are here.”

I just nod and smile.

“Be careful.” She said before leaving.

I took a deep breath and knocked three times.

“Madam?”

“Get inside you brat!”

I got frightened due to madam’s loud shout but I just ignored it and summon the courage to enter.

“Good morning madam. You called me ma’am?” I politely asked but she gave me back a frowning look.

“What is this that I heard about? You hurt a client? Mr. damien complained about how you disrespected and humilated him. Do you know who he is? Do you want to lose your job?”

I stepped back out of fear and shock.

Scared of unlikely reasons and surprised because madam is very angry.

“Ma’am, he disrespected me. I didn’t mean to insult him but he…”

I couldn’t continue explaining as she suddenly came to me and slapped me.

I could feel my cheek turning red because of the slap.

What she did just made me feel more dizzy.

She was saying something but I didn’t understand what she was saying.

I felt dizzy and sleepy.

I don’t know what happened next but I felt myself falling before everything went blank.
