Alexa’s p.o.v

“Mom….” I called out as I hugged her.

I miss her so much.
“My angel, baby…..how are you?” My mom asked as she burst into tears.

“I’m fine. Mother we are free. We are leaving this place…”

“Really? We are free? Alexa you aren’t kidding me right?” Mitchell doubtly asked me.

I nodded my head.

We left the place and just as we were about to cross the highway, a truck hit my mother.

“Mother!!!!!” I screamed.

“Oh my god!” Mitchell yelled.

I quickly ran to where she laid down on the floor.

“No, mom, please you will be fine.”

My mother looked at me as she smiled.

“It’s okay baby. I think it is time to join your father. I’m happy you are free. You are free from pain. I am glad that I get to see you. Take care baby, I love you.” She muttered before closing her eyes.

No, no….it can’t be.

The scene was filled up with people watching us.

Mitchell stood there dumbstruck.

Mom, you are joking right?

You can’t leave me?

“Mom?” I called out to her.

I tried to shake her cheeks to see if she can open her eyes a little or just nod or probably get an expression for her.

But guess what?

I got nothing!

My mother was laying on the floor motionless.

“Somebody help! Please help me!” I cried.

“Mom, you will be fine. I will take you to the hospital. Don’t worry.” Tears flowed out from my eyes.

“Please call an ambulance.” One of the people who surrounded us instructed someone.

In not less than ten minutes, an ambulance arrived.

Mother was rushed into the hospital.

I was crying.

I am scared.

She is the only family I have left.

She can’t leave me.

Not now….

Mitchell hugged me as she pat my back.

“She will be fine, right?” I asked Mitchell.

I just need someone to encourage me.

Someone to give me hope.

Mitchell nodded as she held my hands tight.

The doctor came.

“How is my mother, sir?” I quickly asked him.

“I’m sorry, there was nothing we can do….”

“I don’t understand sir?” I interrupted him.

“Mitchell, my mother is fine right?”

“How is her mother sir?” Mitchell questioned him.

“She was dead before you brought her to the hospital. I’m sorry. ” the doctor said before leaving.

“Noooooo! This can’t be true! No Mitchell. Tell me I am dreaming. Please wake me up from this dream. My mother….my mother can’t be dead….”

Mitchell hugged me tightly as we both cried on the floor of the hospital. ”

*Time skip*

It was hard for me to move on, but I had to.

My mom won’t be happy seeing me sad over her.

Mitchell is a good friend and with her help, I decided to move forward with my life after my mother’s burial.

I relocated to another place.

With Mitchell.

My father has a house in California and Mitchell has a relative who also lives in California.

We both moved there and started a new life.

Mitchell found a job for us and I was glad that my life was going just the way I planned.
