Chapter Two

Muleekat

‘Maama, the..the…’ I struggled to say as my breath was almost seizing from the running I had done a few minutes ago..

‘Calm down Leekat, do you want to ki*ll yourself, sit’ Mama said offering me the small stool beside the well, and sat I did.

‘So what is it??’ She asked

‘Maama, the scholarship exam, I passed the scholarship exam’ I said happily and she let out a sigh of relief..

‘Oh Allah, thank you for answering our prayers, this is really a great news’ She said.

‘What of Baffa!??’ I asked.

‘He is doing his usual supplements in his hut’

I know you are wondering…

Hut??, yes we live in a hut, all thanks to the death of my father and the cruelty of his family.

My father was a Fulani Herdsman who had many cows, sheep’s and goats.

He was successful and rich and we had everything we wanted.

Oops, I haven’t even introduced myself.

My name is Muleekat Muhammad Imran, a Fulani from the northern part of Nigeria, well my father passed away a long time ago when I was seven, due to the endless conflicts between the farmers and the Herdsmen…

After some days of his death, his brothers took all the properties including the cows, goats, and sheep, and left us with just one cow.

We relocated here (Ibadan), where My father’s parents lived and maama managed to sell the cow’s milk while I roasted corn for sale..

Alhaji Garba was a childhood friend of my dad who supported us, he sponsored my education to the secondary level and now that I have gained a scholarship, it is a big success to him…

‘Call your Uncle and tell him, he would be very happy’ Baffa said with his old creaky voice.

Well, Baffa was a name for ‘father’ in the Fulani language, so since I had no father, I called my grandfather Baffa.

🌷 (About an hour later)🌷

‘Oh Muleekat, you never seem to disappoint me, l really love you my child, may God continue to bless you’ Alhaji Garba said and I couldn’t help but blush..

‘Thank you, well the principal said we will be leaving next week’ I explained and he shook his head in understanding..

💙 Princess Ruqqoyya 💙

I slight moan escaped from my lips as I lowered myself into the bathtub which was filled with roses and special Arabian cleansing perfumes…

It was really refreshing as the hot bath was tingling and refreshing..

I closed my eyes for a minute in ecstasy, letting it flow on my bare body…

The image of Zaid came to my head and I could help but smile…

You will soon be mine Zaid, I can’t wait for us to get married, make babies, and surf the Rhiyard together…

After some minutes of the hot baths, I wore my robe and walked out of the bathroom.

‘Soumayya, bring me my clothes’ I said rudely to the stupid and sluggish maid…

They are all so annoying, I mean she can’t even do things to please a princess, a princess like me…

She handed over the royal blue and pink dress which had some stripes of gold in it.

I want to look as pretty as ever, so the Prince notices me…

‘Soumayya, come here

‘ye..yeahs ma’am’ she answers trembling like a chicken.

‘What are we having for dinner

‘Well, the kitchen prepared Humus( a delicious meal made from chickpeas, tahini, garlic and lemon), Tubouleh( a meal similar to Humus), Kibbeh ( a meal of ground beef with onions and bulger)-‘

‘That’s enough, now tell me what happened before I arrived’

‘Well it was the Prince Zaid and his father, King Almustapha, they were talking about him getting married, and that he may get married to you when he fails to get a bride before the Eid festival’ She mouthed, and for the first time, impressed me.

‘Is the Prince still in the palace??’…

‘Yes but he is about to leave for work’

‘Okay then, dress me up, I need to talk to him before he leaves’

‘Yes ma’am’

🌷(Minutes Later)🌷

‘Salam(hello) Zaid’ I said saucily as I winked at my stubborn cousin brother..

‘Salam Ruqqoyya, what is it, make it fast I have to be somewhere now’ He said to my annoyance and I gnashed my teeth in anger..

‘Oh, I thought I would say hi to you, I just arrived few hours ago’ I said smiling in pretense.

‘Its okay bye, Yalla (Come on)’ he said and I watched in anger how he walked into the royal ride leaving me stranded in anger…

What a stubborn man!!!!..

💙 Prince Zaid💙

‘So what are you saying Mr. Hoffman, the PZA company is performing well’ I said as I furrowed my brows a bit.

‘Well you see, Mr. Prince, the company is going bankrupt and sooner or later, we will have to sell your company as some shareholders and withdraw from their shares’ he said repeatedly hitting his hands on the office table.

‘Rasheed, why haven’t you told me about this at all??’ I said calmly to my Arabian Shareholder.

‘I’m sorry sir, but the only way out is to get a new economist, that will be the only way to get the company back on its feet…’

I stared at the documents before me for a while, wondering if there was a possible way out of this.

🌷(A week later)🌷

💙 Muleekat 💙

I finally on board the plane which was to take me to the King Saud University of Saudi Arabia…

My luggage was filled perfectly above me on stuff which I don’t know its name…

Well, this is the first time I am on a plane my whole life!!!…

And it’s way creepier than I thought, my hands couldn’t stop trembling and it came to the notice of my neighbors…

He was an Arab guy from the looks as he looked so hairy and with a very light, what am I saying White skin…

‘Its your first time right??’ He asked and I nodded in response.

‘Just hold onto something, close your eyes and take a deep breath’ he said and I kept trying till I finally felt better.

He was a cool guy and after some minutes of gist, he told me that he was into music and he just paid Nigeria a visit…

We had a long talk till the plane finally landed safely and we all went out…

We landed in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and I was more nervous than excited…

Everyone was white and had dark hair…

They were Muslims and non-muslims around.

They guys were Soo handsome and so were the women…

I quickly boarded a cab to the University and within some minutes, I arrived…

Ya Allah!!!, everywhere was Soo beautiful!!!, the sun was moderate and it seemed windy…

Finally, in front of the University, they were heaps of people, both international and Arabian…

We (International students) were guided to a large hall for welcome…

‘You are all welcome to The United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia.. well this is a scholarship for you who have passed the exam…..

….

I have read it all on the fliers we were given by the principal and it was kinda boring to listen to them all over again so I took the opportunity to see around the hall…

I walked out rather recklessly and someone bumped into me…

I landed on the floor on my buttocks and I was ashamed as hell…

I slowly lifted my gaze from the ground and behold…

A handsome, angry face was staring at me…..

TBC ♥️…
