Chapter Sixty
Finale Chapter

The next morning, Hunter woke up from the bed and stared Claire who’s still sleeping.
Everything felt like a relief for him. He finally confessed his love to her and his joy knew no bounds when she said she love him back.

It was great. Everything about last night. A memorable night in each other’s arms.

He got down not wanting to wake her but it was too late cause she already opened her eyes.

“Good morning.” She smiled while getting up from the bed.

“Good morning to you too.” He replied and kissed her. “What do you need for breakfast?” He asked her.

“No, I will do the breakfast while you get ready to go.” Claire responded after she got down from the bed.

“I wouldn’t want to stress my pregnant wife.”

“You’re already calling me your wife even when we are not married yet.”

“Let me call you that because you will soon be mine very soon. How about we prepare the breakfast together, Claire?” Asked Hunter because he saw how she’s determined to cook for him.

“No, Hunter. I’m not heavily pregnant yet. Go take your bath and the food will be ready soon.” Her smile only, warmed his heart.

“Alright! I give up.” He raised his two hands up. Claire showed him the bathroom while she made her way to the kitchen.

40 minutes later,
The food was ready and Hunter ate. He was ready to go.

“I feel like I shouldn’t go home.” He spoke, pulling her into a hug.

“Are you saying you’re missing me already?”

“Yeah. I love you, Claire and our baby. Take care of yourself, okay?”

“I will. Drive safe.”

Jason came back home an hour later. His sister told him Hunter came last night and left this morning.

He was sad a little for not seeing him. He should have come earlier.

“So how’s uncle fairing?” Claire jerked him out of thought.

“He’s doing well. Getting well day by day.” Jason smiled as he took the muffins on the table and munched it.

“You didn’t eat breakfast at uncle’s place?” She frowned her face at him.

“I ate. What’s wrong?”

“Nothing, Jason. I have something to tell you.”

Jason gave her ‘ go on ‘ look.

“I’m pregnant for Hunter.” She blurted.

“Jeez!! You… you’re pregnant?! That’s great news. Did he know already? He accepted it right?”

“Yes, he did. I’ve never seen him so happy like that before.” She smiled hard.

Jason watched her carefully and asked, “Do you love him?”

“Yes, I do love him so much. I can’t stand seeing him with another woman.”

“Congratulations, Sis. I’m happy for you. You’ve done a lot. You’re the best.” Jason hugged her and whined like a child. “Mother to be.” The two chuckled.

Hunter got home and changed into an office suit. He took all he needed and drove to his workplace.

“Good morning sir” His workers greeted him and he replied.

“Good morning to you too.” He got to his office and sat down with a sigh. Taking his phone out and dialed his mom’s number.

As expected, she didn’t pick it. Then, he sent a message to her.

‘I got Claire back and she’s already pregnant for me, mom. I know you will be happy seeing this.’ He wrote.

It wasn’t up to two minutes, when her call came in. He picked it with a smile.

“She’s pregnant?!” She exclaimed. “God has finally answered my prayers. I’m going to carry my grandchild so soon.” The woman breathed hard.

“Mom, will you calm down? She’s pregnant and I’m thinking of proposing to her soon.”

“What are you waiting for? You should propose to her and marry her. I knew she was different from all the ladies you’ve been carrying about. Now, you’re my son. You just did the right thing. I love you, my son.” His mom said.

“I love you too, mom.” He blew kisses to her and she returned hers.

One month later,
Hunter proposed to Claire and she said yes without hesitating. The wedding day came and they got married. Everyone congratulated them. It was a lovely and adorable wedding at that.

And after seven months, Claire gave birth to a boy and he was named Eric Walter Hunter. He got his father’s hair and face but got his mother’s eyes only.

Eric was loved and cared for.

A year later,

“Honey, don’t you thinking we gonna be late to Mike and Anita’s wedding?” Claire questioned as she finish dressing for Eric.

“No. It’s starting around 10am and this is 9:10. We still have much time.” Hunter replied.

“Okay, let me get dressed since I’m through with Eric.”

“Come here.” Hunter pulled her to himself and held her waist tightly. Their lips almost touching.
“You’re the best thing that ever happened to me.” He whispered.

“I know. Hey! You’re suddenly saying that.” She gave him one of her beautiful smirk.

“I just wanted you to know.” Hunter shrugged. “I don’t know where I would have been or what I would have done without you in my life. I think this is the result of the agreement we made back then.”

“We both found love in each other. You will forever be mine and no one is going to separate us.” Claire replied, looking directly into his eyes. Her hands around her neck.

Hunter smiled and leaned in to kissed her. “I love you.” He mumbled.

Eric cried when he noticed that everywhere has suddenly gone quiet.

“I knew he’s going to cry soon.” Claire chuckled and pulled away from her husband. “Come on baby, lets go get your food.” She carried him to go give him food.

And when it was time to leave, they sat in the car and drove to the wedding.
