“mom, why are you like this to Keith? I’m going to tell him you are behind everything ” I said and turned to go but she stopped me

“you want to tell him? Go ahead, but don’t regret it later ” she said and I looked at her

“I’m not going to regret it ”

She sat on the bed and put on her shoes

“if your father finds out, we will both in trouble and if that happens, I will curse the day you were born ” she said with a smirk on her face

“Why are you doing this? ”

“I already told you the reason, it’s all for you, you had better play along with me ” she said and I could feel my cheek burning with anger

“I’m your mother, but that Keith you are trying to protect is not a member of this family, don’t you get it ” she said and I walked outside and banged the door angrily

I watched as Kelvin drove outside the compound

I scoffed sadly and stood up from the floor

“Young master, you are bleeding ” Lugard said and handed me a handkerchief

“Where is My Dad? ” I asked

“He went to the company this morning, but In 25 minutes, he will be leaving for New York” lugard said and I checked my wristwatch

“Get the car ready, I have to see dad ” I said and ran back inside

“What’s wrong son? ” mom asked as i bumped into her on my way to the room

“Nothing, I have to go somewhere ” I said and she nod

“Where? ”

” I will tell you later, bye ”

“What do you mean? ” dad asked as his secretary dropped two Cups of coffee on the table

“Someone is after my life Dad” I said and he leaned forward

“Who is it? ” he asked

“That’s what I want you to find out for me, on the 22nd of July, the day I was discharged from the hospital, someone tried to sh00t me but Kelvin took the bullet for me ” I said and he arched his brow

“Did Kelvin told you anything before taking the bullet? ” dad asked and I looked up trying to remember something

“That day, he called and told me not to leave the hospital ” I said and he looked at me

“Where is Kelvin? ” he asked

“He left the house this morning ”

“Keith, Kelvin might know the person ” he said and my eyes widened

“What? ”

“Judging from all what you said, he might have a connection with the person, I will try to check who it is, you go back home ” he said and I nod

I sat in front of the mirror starring at my phone

Why won’t Keith call?

I’m getting scared

Did something happened to him

No way, that can’t be

My phone started ringing and I smiled thinking it was Keith but it was Kelvin

I sighed with disappointment and picked up

“Where are you? ” he asked

“I’m at home, why? ”

“Meet me at the cafe near your house, I will be waiting ” he said and hanged up

I took my jacket and walked to the cafe

I saw him leaning on the car

“Emerald ” he waved and gestured for me to come

“Kelvin, how is Keith doing? ”

“Can we talk about that later,” he said but judging by his look, he is upset

“Did something happen between you two? ” i asked

“No, let’s go inside” he said and we both walked inside the cafe, it was empty

“Ugh, why is this place empty? ” I asked and sat on a chair

“I rented this place ”
“Wow, but why? ” I asked and he brought out a box from his pocket and handed it to me

I opened it and saw a beautiful ring inside

“What is this? ” I asked

“You saw it, it’s a ring, I like you emerald ” he said and I starred at him for a while

I closed the box and dropped it on a table

“I’m sorry Kelvin but I’m going to reject this ” I said and he looked disappointed

“Why? ”

“Because……. ” I paused and stood up

” I have to go ” I turned to leave

“Is it because of Keith? ” he asked and I stopped

“It can’t be right? You told me you don’t like him” he said

I turned back and looked at him

“That was………. ” I couldn’t complete my statement when he cut in

“I won’t give up on you, no matter what” he said and walked out of the cafe

I stood in front of the house as Kelvin drove back inside

“Kelvin” I called and walked to him

“I’m not ready to listen to anything ” he said and threw the car key at a guard

“You know the person right? ” I asked and he stopped

“The person that tried to ki*ll me, you know the person right? ” I asked and he smirked

“Yeah, I know the person, but what are you going to do the person if I tell you who it is? ” he asked as we both glared at each other

“I’m going to ki*ll that person ” I said with a grin
